| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | The vehicle is experiencing a dangerous hesitation during acceleration at low speeds, immediately followed by a sudden, violent forward lunging motion. When attempting to accelerate from a complete stop, or when rolling at low speeds (such as yielding at a roundabout, turning through an intersection, or merging into slow-moving traffic), the vehicle suffers from a distinct **lag or complete failure to accelerate** for several critical seconds. In an attempt to get the vehicle to move out of harm's way, the driver naturally applies more pressure to the gas pedal. The vehicle's transmission then randomly responds after a few seconds with a violent lunge forward, spinning the tires and causing the vehicle to surge unpredictably. This unpredictable behavior creates an immediate and severe safety risk to the occupants of my vehicle and others on the road: 1. Intersection Collisions: The sudden lag leaves the vehicle stranded in oncoming traffic during turns, while the subsequent lunge threatens to overshoot the intended lane. 2. Pedestrian Hazards: The sudden, uncontrollable lunging makes low-speed maneuvers in school zones, crosswalks, and parking lots incredibly hazardous. 3. Drivers behind behind me do not expect a vehicle to suddenly stop accelerating after it has begun to move forward. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership we're we were able to reproduce the issue and Honda would not offer a fix. I thought I was going to get my entire family killed the other day when I pulled out at a stop the van hesitated in the middle of the highway for a few seconds before lunging forward. This is an intermittent issueand the severity varies each time, but is commonly cited online. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I keep getting a brake system light come on. Multiple warnings about the adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, collision mitigation, and auto high beam. I used a code reader and it came back with code U3000-49 Multipurpose Camera Unit/Millimeter Wave Radar Internal Electronic Failure. I have seen multiple reports of this online regarding honda vehicles. Honda quotes repairs anywhere between $1500-$2500 to repair this unit. This should not be an issue on a car that is only 6-7 years old, 5-6 years old at the time the issue started. Given the seriousness of this issue and the amount of reports about this same issue online, a recall of this unit needs to be issued. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle suddenly lost automotive power. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it remains, where it was diagnosed with a fuel pump failure. The vehicle was not repaired due to the costs. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired at another local dealer under NHTSA Campaign: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, it did not prevent a failure from occurring. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign:23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Root problem seems to be the forward looking camera and/or radar, though there are 8-10 codes in total. This one looks like the primary problem: U3000-49 — Multipurpose Camera Unit / Millimeter Wave Radar Internal Electronic Failure As a result, we no longer have safety features such as emergency braking, collision warning, lane departure warning, or lane keeping assistance. Additionally, cruise control is no longer available. The vehicle is still drivable, but without any of the safety features reliant upon the camera and radar. There one one trip in the last few days where everything functioned normally, but on every other trip these warnings have shown up as soon as the vehicle is started. The warnings for all of those systems are displayed in the gage cluster, as well as a “brake system” light being visible. Sometimes, when the vehicle is started, additional warnings are displayed for blind spot indicator and the transmission. There were no symptoms leading up to this. Everything worked and looked normal one morning, then suddenly appeared when the vehicle was started later that evening. We have not yet had the vehicle inspected by anyone as it’s currently a holiday weekend. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Either the ADAS camera or the radar sensor in the van is not functioning properly. The odyssey has know issues like the camera overheating and dies or the radar can be mis aligned by going through a car wash. We do not know which is not working in our van but we are now locked out of basic features on the van. The biggest problem is that cruise control no longer functions. I had previously turned adaptive cruise control (ACC) off and reverted the van to normal cruise control (CC). With the new issue, I al locked out of using CC even though it does not rely on the ADAS camera or the radar sensor. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Fuel injector failure in exact manner described in TSB 21-010 and code P219A. The Emissions error is exactly matching TSB 21-010. Honda states that the VIN number is outside of scope and is requesting an out of pocket repair. According to many online complaints, the VIN numbers need to be expanded. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | When picking my child up from school, upon departure, the front end of the vehicle began violently shaking and sounding as if it wanted to shut down, simultaneously, a number of system failure warnings displayed on the dash. I was able to get the vehicle into a parking spot and turn it off. It would not restart. I called a tow truck and had it towed to a local garage as it was not safe to drive even if it did start. Upon the local mechanic pulling codes, they pulled the code P0087 indicating a failure of the fuel system, gasoline: delivery: Fuel pump. This incident put myself, my 3 children in the vehicle as well as other pedestrian children and adult pedestrians at great risk, because if I had lost control and not been able to park safely, the outcome may have been extremely different. The problem has been confirmed by local mechanic and is scheduled with the dealer in 5 days. There were no prior warnings or indications of the failure. Honda issued a recall in 2021 then closed it. It was later expanded by NHTSA in 2024. Then again closed. We never received notification of the recall either time. recall numbers follow: 21V-21520V-314 expanded recall: 23V-858/Honda TSB 24-022 Both, Im told are closed, which is unfathomable to me given the significant and known dangers attributed to this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Power Tail Gate electronic circuit is not working due to water seeping into the trunk from the Roof rails there is a manufacture defect with the sealants on the roof. Water seeping into the car is damaging the Battery as well as it had to be started with jumper cable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | 2019 Honda Odyssey purchased new and one owner. Vehicle's VIN didn't fall under Honda TSB # 21-010 despite vehicle suffered a known defect pattern so Honda denied assistance soley due to VIN exclusion. Sequence: emissions system warning, P0420, injector failure diagnosis, consequential catalyst failure after injector malfunction. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | Car did it’s normal automatic shut off while stopped at red light but then did not automatically restart when I took my foot off the brake. I couldn’t get it to start or turn off. I was just sitting with a dead car in the middle of traffic. It was still on but totally unresponsive! I called 911 but before they arrived I managed to get the car to turn off and then restart. ?? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The vehicle is showing persistent electrical and communication fault codes involving the ECM, ABS, and EPS systems, including P16E2, P16E5, P16E7, P16E8, U0401, and U0416. These codes return immediately, which suggests an active fault rather than a temporary low-voltage condition. The issue appears to involve the battery sensor and/or the related communication network between control modules. Because the faults involve ABS and EPS communication, the concern is that braking-related or steering-assist systems may not be receiving correct data. This creates a potential safety risk because the vehicle may experience intermittent or unreliable control-module communication, which could affect steering assist, braking-related warnings, or overall drivability. The warning lights and diagnostic codes first appeared before the vehicle was put back into normal use and have continued to remain present. The problem has been reproducible because the codes reappear right away after being cleared. No dealer or manufacturer diagnosis has been confirmed yet, so the exact root cause remains unresolved. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | The contact stated while the contact's husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed, however the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact noticed an abnormal knocking sound. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the road. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power. The contact's husband attempted to start the vehicle, the vehicle did restart. The failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the abnormal knocking sound became louder and persistent. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed engine. In addition, the contact was informed that metal shavings were noticed in the oil pan. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced a recall, NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V751000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however the contact's VIN was not associated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | SUSPENSION | - While stopped at a stoplight, my family and I heard a loud bang from the rear of the vehicle. The rear was visibly sagging after this. I verified with my mechanic that the driver's side rear spring coil had broken. - A broken rear spring makes the vehicle more apt for rollover when stopping quickly and puts more strain on the shocks. Not safe to drive. - Not confirmed by the dealer as I was unwilling to pay $200 for a "diagnostic". Anyone with mechanical knowledge could tell there was a rear suspension problem, and my mechanic visually verified it on a lift free of charge. - No warning lamps or inspection beyond my mechanic. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | AIR BAGS | I was driving at normal speed on XXX XXX parkway getting on to the XXX crossing, when I drove over a pothole. The passenger side curtain airbag suddenly deployed even though there was no collision. I had a [XXX] sitting in a car seat in the second row passenger side as well as another child in the third row who thank God weren't hurt. Had the airbags deployed directly on them they would have gotten hurt. My family was absolutely terrified and took a long time to calm down. I couldn't find a safe place to pull over and proceeded to the next exit which was luckily only a few hundred feet away. Visibility on the passenger side of the car was completely blocked and it was challenging to drive safely to a safe place where I can pull over. This is the exact failure described in Honda recall campaign UNW, which acknowledges incorrect SRS ECU deployment parameters causing inadvertent curtain airbag deployment from road impacts. I called the Honda recall center and they verbally committed to repairing it completely and told me to bring it to a dealership. I brought the car to Honda Universe at 1085 Ocean Ave, Lakewood NJ, an authorized Honda dealer that said they would not perform the repair unless Honda corporate sends written authorization to pay for it. I called corporate back and was told a case manager needs to be assigned within 48 hours, a process they had not previously mentioned. I am currently left with a car with deployed airbags with no approval and with no timeline provided as well as no loaner or rental vehicle offered. There were no SRS lights or indication of any issue with this system prior to this incident. The component is available for inspection at the dealer. No accident or collision occurred. The airbag deployment was caused solely by a road impact triggering the defective SRS software that Honda has acknowledged and recalled. | May 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I was in a single vehicle car accident on Monday May 4th 2026 right at 6am central standard time. My 2019 honda odyssey has been totaled out by Insurance. Primarily all of the damages were on the front driver side, the air bags on both the steering wheel and under the steering wheel deployed but the side curtain airbag didn't not, and honda link also wasn't able to connect to emergency services once a crash was detected. The side curtain air bag not deploying has been pointed out and brought to my attention by almost every single person who has seen my vehicle since the accident. During the accident I swerved to avoid an animal that was running across the road and I over corrected and loss control and in a complete panic it has been assumed by everyone including myself that I accidently pressed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | When those error codes appear, those safety features become unavailable during driving. These error usually come up when I just start the car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | this is the second time that the tail lift gate electric module became defective because of water pentation from some roof water seal | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Speakers, even if the audio is off, will produce a static sound, leading the center console to display a 'connection lost' message before going completely black. Screen will reconnect only when the vehicle has been restarted. Rear back up camera is affected by this as well by not working when the screen has lost network connection. Seems to be a FAKRA issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | 2019 Honda Odyssey began having intermittent display, that progressed to constant display, of multiple warning messages regarding safety features related to multiocular/multipurpose camera unit. Vehicle is unable to perform LKAS, ACC, lane departure assist, autobraking, etc. Honda dealership states this is a well known issue related to a faulty camera that has to be replaced to utilize these safety features. Without replacement, the vehicle display is overtaken by a recurring onslaught of warning messages making instrument panel difficult to view. The specific part is listed as "2019 Honda Odyssey - Camera Assembly Monocular (Rewritable) - Honda (36160-THR-A11)" and the error code is U3000-49. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | On May 2nd, we drove our 2019 Honda Odyssey XL-E to church, and as soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we started to see smoke coming from our front hood. We exited the car. Within 30 seconds, the car then went into flames, and exploded and the car is now unsalvageable. When I went online, it seems like this is a common occurrence with these Honda Odysseys. There were no warming lamps, messages, or lights that would have alerted me that something this serious would occur. We have taken our care to Honda for years for regular maintenance. We don't take it to any independent shops. Strictly to Honda for years. The most recent checkup/service was performed on February 11, 2026 where they performed the following services which they had recommended. 1) Oil Change 2)Engine coolant flush with conditioner 3)Transmission fluid change: 4) wheel alignment 5)Fuel tank additive, throttle body service, and injector. This is serious safety event and our family and children could have been killed in this accident. We have pictures, videos, police report, and the car has been taken to a salvage yard. We have filed a claim with State Farm. | Crash: No Fire: Yes | Unknown |
| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Engine failure. Not available for inspection. Engine replaced and damaged engine return for core charge. While driving on the highway, without any for warning, engine stalled, loss of power and dash read “emissions system problem “. Vehicle was towed to Honda of Denton for diagnostic testing. The engine stalling and loss of power at highway speeds caused a great risk for my family in the van. We impeded traffic and could have caused an accident. There were no warning lights and/or engine system issues leading up to the engine failure. Honda stated that it’s is a common issue with the internal engine bearing failure. They also confirmed that my VIN is not listed on the recall list for the 2 million engines effected. Honda quoted a LKQ engine replacement. Declined and had replacement done at Caliber Collison. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | ADAS system, camera behind windshield. Multiple safety systems malfunctioning Honda sense with all ADAS safety features are not working and risk the emergency braking system to engage without reason. Caliber Collison and Protech have diagnosed and confirmed the problem. Honda service has confirmed no recall no warranty coverage. Quoted 2500 to fix No prior warning lights or messages. Multiple dash lights occurred suddenly and never went away. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES | The vehicle was in reverse and started to accelerate uncontrollably in reverse. The car came to a stop after hitting a wall and a car. The uncontrolled acceleration happened when we went about 1 foot onto grass while in reverse. The emissions light was going on and off from time to time. We believe it was inspected by a honda dealership at some point. The vehicle is involved with insurance at this point. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I own a 2019 Honda Odyssey Elite with 39,000 miles on it. In January 2026, suddenly I had multiple warning lights on in my minivan related to an ADAS system failure. I replaced the car battery and later determined that the ADAS camera had failed in the car. In reading online, this is a very common issue with Hondas as the cameras are known to overheat and require replacement. Warning lights: Brake System Malfunction, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Auto High Beam Problem Before I was able to get it repaired, the van turned off suddenly in traffic twice while my wife was driving the car while also one of my children was inside, creating an unsafe condition that could have created an accident. Luckily my wife was able to get the car safely moved out of traffic and we stopped driving the car at that point. I wound up replacing the camera and and needing to get it recalibrated so that the car could be drivable. This resulted in the van not being operable for nearly a month. For a car that had 39,000 miles on it, this really should be something under a longer warranty as it could have created an unsafe driving condition for my family. Total cost to repair = $1634.22. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Several complaints can be seen across many different Honda forums that indicate several years including 2018 - 2023 of the Honda Odyssey are affected by similar issues when the front multi-purpose camera fails. Many have reported extreme heat when physically inspecting the camera unit. The ZYNQ XA72030 chip manufacturer, AMD, has listed known issues with this particular chip overheating either due to inadequate cooling (this is a passively cooled chip), poor PCB layout, unstable or undersized power supply, all which can result in thermal shutdown. At startup my vehicle dash immediately lit up with several Warning indicating the disablement of multiple systems: LKAS, EBA, ACC, Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure, Automatic High-Beam. In my case, physical inspection revealed the camera outer shell to be extremely hot to the touch necessitating a rag to reduce risk of burn while handling. It's interesting to see that Honda has issues a recall for the back camera which is not tied to many or any other systems at all due to a faulty cable, yet the front facing camera which directly affects Lane Keep Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic High-Beam, has not received a recall despite the many complaints brought forth. It is clearly a defective component that affects many other systems which can lead to potential crashes under the right circumstances. I would urge Honda to issue a recall for all Odysseys experiencing multiple systems failure due to a defective multi-purpose camera. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
