| Feb 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Brought my 2019 Odessey to the dealership shortly after I had the following error messages appeared on my dashboard: Brake System, Auto High-Beam Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Lane Keeping Assist Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, & Adaptive Cruise Control Problem. Sometimes these pop-up intermittently. Other codes I've seen twice since this issue started are Transmission System Problem and Blind Spot Info System Problem. The dealership mentioned that these error codes are most likely associated with the other codes mentioned above. Did a diagnostic at the dealership and they initially cleared all codes and U300-49 returned and they are recommending replacing the Multi-purpose camara unit and they are charging $2,256.95 for this to be done. This repair is costly and from what I understand is a common issue for Odessey owners. In addition, since this little part seems responsible for upholding these safety features it seems ridiculous that we paid good money to have this vehicle, but our all these safety features seem to be on hold until we get this costly repair done. I personally don't feel 100% safe driving the vehicle. To me, it feels like a gamble to put my family and the public in danger by driving the vehicle because every time I turn on the vehicle the warning sounds beep and flash, I don't feel safe. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact had previously received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact stated that the fuel pump module was replaced but the failure occurred. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 111,000 |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | No acceleration on freeway/highway | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Does not accelerate on the highway/freeway. Took it to dealer shop, several times over the years. First 2-3 years, they say they did not find any issues. Last year, they said it was transmission issue. We took it to other repair shop, he said it was computer system failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Vehicule does not respond when push the gas pedal. There is a delay on the vehicule respond after push the gas. Creating false idea of not pushing the gas enough. Suddenly the vehicule react loosing control. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | There is an active recall for my fuel pump and I’ve tried several times to get it fixed and they refuse to fix it | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | STRUCTURE | Driver side, passenger sliding door does not properly close at times. When closing, it seems the sensor is sensing blockage and will not shut fully but re-opens the door again and again. It will mentally close after the 4th or 5th time. I typically will have to get out and manually push the sliding door shut. This happens at least a few times a week. I have noticed it around summer of 2024. It is especially concerning when trying to load kids up quickly to leave during the evenings for safety reasons to only have the doors keep opening when trying to close. Upon sharing with other friends and family, they also experience the same issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | All the controls in my Van (cruise control, lane assist, auto break etc...) stopped working. I took the van multiple times and the reason they gave is its possible that the Camera stopped working. I replaced the front windshield with OEM through Insurance. I have a feeling this happened only after the repair. The issue goes away for some reason while driving and comes back again. So its not due to any Camera failures. This seems to be a problem for many Honda Odyssey | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My van regularly hesitates from the stopped position. This often causes a safety hazard when turning right into traffic or making a left turn because I am not able to accelerate for several seconds and the vehicle feels as if it is stalling out. It is a known mechanical defect with Honda and they do not currently have a resolution. When reported, I was told the mechanical system defects to switching through all the gears before accelerating, causing the delay. Not only does this cause performance issues, there have been several close calls when I have made a left turn/ right turn into traffic and the vehicle hesitates for a few seconds | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Multipurpose camera malfunction. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | At various times since we have owned our van, when the gas pedal is pushed, the car will not move for a few seconds. It will then go, but it’s not smooth. I can never recreate this issue, since it seems to happen randomly. I had it happen today, and it lasted longer than a couple of seconds. I was thankful I was just leaving my neighborhood and not trying to turn onto a busy street. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Water intrusion near rear tailgate control box. The circuit board was ruined by water and the automatic tailgate was at first malfunctioning and then would not function at all. The circuit board had to be replaced. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | ADAS system has failed. Out of the blue, multiple warning lights have came on at the same time. This failed system is a danger by taking away some important safety features of the vehicle. -Collision mitigation system problem -Auto high beam problem -Road departure mitigation system problem -lane keeping assist problem -adaptive cruise control problem Vehicle has been taken to local mechanic to check codes. Codes cleared yet returned immediately. Seems to be an issue with a multipurpose camera in the front. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Vehicle has hard shifting up and down. Loud clank when up shifting or down shifting at random times. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with multiple warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was able to restart. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump module failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired, and the contact was informed that the remedy parts were not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | 91,000 |
| Jan 2025 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V858000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE | LKA; Collision Mitigation Problem; Auto High Beam; Road Departure Mitigation; Adaptive Cruise Control Dashboard has ALL of these lighting up. Dealer said it was a sensor issue. No accidents; well cared for vehicle just spontaneously started issuing these alerts each time the car starts and the duration of the drive. Due to all the warnings the driver isn’t able to see fuel range etc. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | STRUCTURE | The latch system on the back hatch has a defect that allows water intrusion which shorts out the electrical board, and renders it unusable. It has randomly opened while driving. Now, the hatch will not manually open even when you take off the handle from the inside. It is a safety issue, and while searching for answers, you can see that this is a universal issue. The Honda dealership confirmed that this is an issue, and the fix is well over $1,000. There were no warnings about this, even when it randomly opened on its own and wouldn't shut. This has been an ongoing issue since we purchased the vehicle in 2023. It is available for inspection. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ENGINE | This echos many of the existing complaints with the transmission already filed. When pulling away from a stop, the car will lag, then suddenly engage the wheels causing the car to jump forward. Some times there is a slight wheel spin etc. I have already taken it to the dealership, they said there was nothing wrong with transmission replaced the transmission fluid and reset the transmission controller. No change in behavior. I've been living with it, but recently drove another honda minivan and realized just how "not normal" the behavior is, and quite frankly how dangerous this has been all along. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE | Leak in roof rail seam causes interior water leak and fried liftgate opener. Known issue manufacturer is not willing to address. Recent class action: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | STRUCTURE | The driver’s side sliding door suddenly ceased operating in October 2024. It will sometimes open halfway or partially close, but on most attempts will only open about an inch. It works manually, but is very hard to pull. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | At the grocery store and trunk would not close. Warning on the dash says “power tailgate problem”. Stranded my wife in the parking lot until she was able to get in touch with me to tell her she had to close it manually. It’s very hard to overcome the actuators manually if you’re a smaller statured person. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | POWER TRAIN | Currently own a honda odyssey 2019. The transmission is unstable at times. From a speed of 25-30mph, it performs hard shifts i think from the 3rd gear. We can really feel the jerk of the van along with a sound like metals slipping or something. It doesn't always happen therefore the dealer could not fully diagnose it and called it normal or wait for it to get worse. Yeah right! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Since purchasing the vehicle, I've had several incidents where my safety and those inside my vehicle are compromised due to the loss of drive power and stalling of the vehicle while driving. I've complained to the dealer for which they continued to assure me that there was no problem detected during the safety inspections. Recently I received the recall notice to replace the fuel pump module which was causing the issues that I've experienced with my vehicle. I took my vehicle to the dealer on 11/11/24, where it was serviced to correct the recall issues. However, I continue to have the same problems of stalling and loss of drive power when driving the vehicle. There are no warning lamps or other issues detected by the dealer according to their safety inspection. My safety and the safety of my passengers, continues to be put at risk. While driving in the highway it is especially dangerous because when I'm changing lanes the vehicle will not accelerate putting me at a risk for a collision. When I am turning left into a street, I feel that it looses power and am stalled in the middle on the street risking yet again a collision. These incidents occur at least 90 percent of the time when driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2024 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | The adaptive cruise control stopped working while it was on and we were driving. Also the lane keep assist went out at the same time. It appears to be an extremely common issue in this cars with the front sensing camera which is the issue we have. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
