Apr 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Upon starting the car, multiple alerts came on the dashboard reporting faults with multiple systems. There was no damage to the car, it had been parked safely and appropriately prior to starting. Dealership inspected the issue and reported the camera/sensor system in the windshield behind the rear view mirror is faulty. This faulty camera now causes multiple systems off line as the sensor is no longer reliable. This is a safety issue as this sensor assists with split second support to the driver to prevent collisions, leaving your lane or speed adjustment with cruise control.

Apr 2025 POWER TRAIN We have had issues with the transmission multiple times. After coming to a stop, rolling forward, and then pressing the accelerator the vehicle hesitates and won't immediately move forward. It will suddenly engage, often squealing the tires and jerk into forward motion. This puts us and others at risk because it causes a delay in pulling into traffic and has made for close calls with oncoming traffic. We took the vehicle to a local shop and they also noticed the issue with the transmission. We took the vehicle to a Honda dealership for service and while they stated that they could not duplicate the issue, there was a software update that they completed and stated that they thought it would take care of the issue. We are still having the issue and plan to take the vehicle back to the dealer for more investigation. We have not had any warning lamps or other messages. Upon researching this, there are class action lawsuits in the works related to this issue on 9 speed transmissions used in various Honda models during this timeframe. Honda has not recalled or extended warranties to cover these issues. It looks like Honda has sent technical service bulletins to nationwide dealers acknowleding the issue but has failed to find a fix for the problem. As in our case, Honda has done software updates which may mask the issue. Below it asks for the date that the incident occurred - This occurs at least weekly, sometimes more frequently.

Mar 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I am reporting a serious safety concern regarding my 2019 Honda Odyssey, which poses a risk to me and my family. The issue is intermittent, making it difficult for the dealership to replicate. The problem began when the Collision Mitigation System warning light flashed, indicating a system malfunction. This was followed by multiple warning lights appearing on the dashboard. At times, the entire dashboard and screen go blank, and all gauges shut off while I am driving on both city streets and highways-though the engine remains on. Additionally, I have experienced the following issues: The steering wheel stiffness when making turns, the vehicle hesitates to accelerate after being at a stop. In December 2023, I took the vehicle to a Honda Dealership, where they recommended replacing the front camera/sensor (behind the rear mirror) at a cost of over $1,500.00. I proceeded with the repair in December 2023. However, the same issues returned in January 2025. This defect poses a severe safety risk, especially when driving at higher speeds or in traffic. Since the dealership has been unable to diagnose the issue due to its sporadic nature, I am requesting an investigation into this matter to determine if other owners are experiencing similar safety risks. Thank you for your time and attention to this issue.

Mar 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM A recall on December 18, 2023, covered the fuel pump on certain 2019 Honda Odyssey models. Mine was included. The problem has not been repaired because the dealer has told me several times that the necessary parts are unavailable. It has now been 15 months since the recall was issued. I am becoming increasingly afraid to drive this vehicle. Can you tell me how long I must wait?

Mar 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Vehicle has hesitation when resuming forward drive after sitting at a light or taking left hand turn. The hesitation causes the feeling of not moving at the amount of speed the car should when starting to regain driving motion, then suddenly slams into gear and proceeds forward with a too quick acceleration to adjust to the amount of pressure applied to gas, causing the driver to have to hit brakes before hitting car infront of them.

Mar 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The camera sensor in my 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L failed due to excessive overheating. The sensor reached extreme temperatures, leading to a complete system failure. As a result, the vehicle became inoperable. The failed component is no longer available for inspection as I was forced to purchase a replacement due to the vehicle’s dependency on it for proper function. The failure of the camera sensor created multiple dangerous situations: Loss of vehicle control: The vehicle lost acceleration functionality and automatically shut itself down, which could have led to a crash in traffic.Dashboard warning lights: All dashboard lights illuminated simultaneously, indicating a severe system failure. Fire hazard: The sensor was emitting extreme heat, creating a potential fire risk due to overheating electronics. Exposure to the elements: The sensor’s placement in direct sunlight likely contributed to its overheating, further increasing the risk of failure. Mandatory dependency on the sensor: The vehicle was rendered inoperable without the functioning sensor, leaving me without a safe means of transportation. A Honda dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed that the sensor had failed due to overheating. However, they stated that the cost of replacement, installation, and recalibration would be my financial responsibility. The issue was evaluated by a Honda dealership, but no manufacturer action was taken to address the failure beyond suggesting an expensive repair. All dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. Loss of acceleration control occurred before the vehicle shut down automatically. The sensor was emitting extreme heat prior to the failure. The issue persisted after restarting the vehicle—after a 10-minute cooldown, the vehicle restarted but failed again after 3-5 minutes. This malfunction was not only a significant inconvenience but a major safety hazard. The sensor’s location makes it highly susceptible to overheating.

Mar 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE Several warning lights turned on. Emissions system problem, transmission system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, power steering system (EPS) problem, vehicle stability assist (VSA) problem, hill start assist problem, road departure mitigation system problem, blind spot info system problem. Steering becomes really difficult, reverse and forward gives out and really hard to control vehicle. Not able to accelerate. This problem happened out of nowhere no issues prior to the lights coming on. This has been happening for the past 8 months i have to unplug the battery so the codes erase and the car starts driving normal then 2 days later they come back and car wont accelerate or would have hard time picking up speed I researched and other owners of similar vehicles have the same issues as mines.

Mar 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE This is my second 2019 Honda Odyssey that has Multipurpose camera unit internal electronic failure(error code U3000-49). Failed camera causing the whole ADAS system to stop functioning. This part shouldn't fail in 6 year old 50000 miles car. I will also report on my second Honda Odyssey which I had the same issue last year.

Mar 2025 LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE It first started with the Power tailgate failure which I brought it to Honda who are aware that there is a faulty sealant that is causing water to get into these odysseys. They refuse to fix the issues and they are very costly. My van has never been in an accident. Now I'm getting all sorts of warnings from the ADAS system. Honda has refused to fix their issues and I can not afford $7000 cost to get this cleared up. People who own these vans are complaining and no one is doing enough to get this recalled.
