Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Sep 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE On now three separate occasions, the vehicle has suddenly applied emergency braking force during cruising speeds in a residential area. I have noticed the incidents seem to occur when there is plenty of sunlight and high contrasting shadows being cast down on the road ahead. I have brought this up with my local Honda dealer to which they did not show concern and turn me away saying it was just a fluke and ´´should not happen again´´. I have been lucky that there were no cars behind me as they would surely have rear ended me for suddenly braking in the middle of flowing traffic.

Aug 2023 STEERING The steering on this vehicle became “sticky” and requires extra force to pull it from the center position. This little bit of extra force causes overcorrection of the vehicle. Dealer was unable to reproduce while under warranty but now with 47000 miles says that it needs a steering gear. Vehicle has not been crashed or damaged in any way. American Honda will not fix the problem. Problem has been reproduced by dealer, no warning light on vehicle.

Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Aug 2023 SEAT BELTS When passengers are sitting in the rear seats, the driver side shoulder belt crosses the buckle of the center passenger's belt. This makes the center belt difficult to release in an emergency. I brought the car to the dealer and the analysis was that four other cars of this model were identical. I guess it's designed in.

Aug 2023 LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Three times the car braked automatically although there was no reason; traffic was consistent and there was no stop sign or stopped/slowing traffic. Several times (more than two/ less than six) the car auto corrected with lane assistance due to either shadows from telephone wires onto the road, or, pavement variations due to construction (on the interstate).

Aug 2023 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The vehicle's automatic braking engaged while I was crossing railroad tracks at a crossing. I had stopped prior to the tracks and was accelerating to go over the tracks when three beeps sounded from the dash display and the brakes activated. It stopped my car on the tracks momentarily and I had to accelerate hard to get it to disengage the brakes. There were no vehicles or other objects directly in front of me at the time. There was a train approaching, but it was far enough away to not be a problem. However, it was scary to be stuck on the tracks. I travel this same route 5-days per week for the past three years and this never happened before. It is also the first-time the auto braking system activated when there was no vehicle or object in front of me. The auto braking beeps and brake flashing warning display did activate at the time. I have an appointment to have the car inspected at the local dealership.

Aug 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving my Honda CR-V the braking, steering and GPS started to fail. I noticed the wire from the windshield to the rear-view mirror was hanging lose. the car was almost impossible to stop. Buckeye Honda replaced the wire for $1028.97 I recently became aware that Honda has recalled a number of other models with the same problem. Should the CR-V also be recalled? I am aware of other owners having same problem. This is very dangerous since the brake and steering fail at the same time. I have the work order and receipt from Buckeye Honda however my printer copier is not working.

Aug 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The automatic braking system on my car continuously breaks for no reason at all. It’s happened probably 7-8 times since buying the vehicle in September 2022. The reason I am filing the complaint is because it did it yesterday to me in the middle of the interstate when nobody was in front of me, and the Adaptive Cruise Control was not on. The car braked in the middle of the interstate causing me to nearly lose control of my vehicle. It happened again today while my husband was drive. This time, there was a car in front of us that had just turned and after the car turned, our car automatically braked after the car in front of us had made their turn. It caused the person behind us to nearly hit us because the car braked so suddenly

Aug 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Out of the blue, the high pressure fuel pump failed on this car and had to be replaced. The specifics are if not identical, close to the same as the low pressure fuel pump issue that had a a recall. The car started but then stalled. We were able to restart after disconnecting battery, drove a short distance and the same situation happened. From that moment the car would only start but then immediately stall. The part that was replaced is a Denso 1679050PC, H022M2. The part that the local dealership says was replaced is 06161-5PC-305, We also have reported to Honda Corporate and they are investigating under Case No.14028770. We do not have much documentation as yet, but telephone conversations indicate they are only considering a hardship/loyalty reimbursement as a possibility. It is pending. In addition, I have been advised by our local mechanic that he has the exact same issue in another car, a 2019 Honda Accord.

Aug 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, I AM WRITING TO INFORM YOU THAT HONDA CRV ARE BEING TARGETED FOR THE RADAR. MY RADAR HAS BEEN STOLEN 2X AND HONDA NEEDS TO BE NOTIFIED. THE RADAR ARE IN FRONT OF THE CARS AND IT IS EASY TO BE STOLEN. IT IS NOT FAIR FOR PERSON TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE AND PARTS ARE BEING STOLEN. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE SURE THIS DOES NOT KEEP HAPPENING TO ME OR ANYONE ELSE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER.

Aug 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Automatic Emergency Braking came on unexpectedly with no obstacles nearby. Was traveling at 35 mph with no cars around. Car decelerated sharply, throwing our dog against back of front seat. Then AEB disengaged with no further incident so far. This was earlier today.

Aug 2023 ENGINE Ever since the fuel pump was replaced by the recall, the car has had a delayed start. Recently the car started but when pit in drive the car stalls. The car does not reliably run, and can stall at any moment.. We have been informed by the dealership that it is now the fuel pump motor that has failed. Seems to me that this is part of the same problem.

Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE When the fuel injectors go bad or out in the 2019 CRV, the check engine light should just come on. Instead the CRV 2019 CRV all lights come on dashboard disabling all safety systems in the car and makes those safety systems unusable when it should just be alerting you of an engine issue. This could cause accidents with a vehicle, rather than the engine just shutting down. Honda has known about it not fixing not only fuel injector they need to be fixing the electric problem that goes along disabling the safety features. They also need to get fuel injector parts in stock. Also, the fuel injector cause further damage to other parts of the vehicle. It damages spark plugs, oil. Honda should been recalling this issue awhile. We take good care of our vehicle and have up kept this vehicle. This one needs to be fixed properly fixing just the injector not enough they have to fix the issue of the safety features where doesn’t disable the whole car along with new injectors.

Jul 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER While driving down the interstate at 70 miles an hour, the sunroof exploded. It sounded like a bomb. Glass went everywhere. I was nowhere near a tree and nothing fell on my car. The weather was beautiful that day and had been all week. Unless something fell from outer space, there is no way anything external caused it. It was absolutely random, terrifying, and expensive to fix. It rained the next morning and water got all into my electrical wiring which has now created a new set of problems. Problems that should all be Honda's responsibility for a clearly defective sunroof.

Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Possible faulty Body Control Module. Will not recognize either set of keys after the car has been off for a few hours. (The red light on both keys stops working. Both are somewhat new batteries.) To unlock the door, I need to use the physical key. When I hold the keyfob up to the push start, the car will turn on. Sometimes the car will start but will say something about the key not being detected in the car 50% of the time, the car will recognize KEY 1 as KEY 2 and show Key 2 driver's cluster settings. If you do not know about the physical key inside the keyfob or know about putting the keyfob next to the push start button, you will be left stranded. Other reports from a Honda enthusiast website have very similar problems with even the battery being drained overnight.

Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I bought a Honda CR-V 2019 with 30,695 miles on 7/22/2022 from an authorized dealer. Vehicle had 1 previous owner and a clean record. At around 50,000 miles the car started to have some computer glitches. Interior lights and radio turning on and off. Interior screen changing randomly and rapidly between functions. Nothing to where I was too concerned. I would turn the car on and off and it would fix itself. I am now at 56,000 miles and on 7/23/23 and my car had every light on the dashboard light up. It had the engine light, brake system, traction, steering ACC and was showing warnings for: Adaptive cruise control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind spot warning, Forward collision warning, Lane departures warning, Lane keeping assistance, Parking collision warning, Rear cross traffic warning. I just received a call from the Honda Mechanic, and they informed me it was the fuel injectors and possible spark plugs. It will cost $1,730.00. They are also going to do a computer update and reset. Why is this problem not under warranty? This car is not that old and I make sure all my maintenance is done.

Jul 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My 2019 CRV stopped running in the middle of the road. The car stalled and every warning light came on. It wouldn’t restart and had to be towed. Based on research it is the fuel injectors. Honda knows about the problem and won’t do a recall. Others have said parts are on back order.

Jul 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE while driving the vehicle on multiple occasions, the emergency braking system would abruptly apply the brakes with the driver not applying AND there being NO cars within 500 feet or more of the car. In one case, no other car was on the road. No accidents occured as of yet, but one could easily result. The movement felt like a disfunction given the timing and lack of cars around.

Jul 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving on a 4 lane highway at about 60-65 MPH the automatic brake system activated. There was no apparent reason for the brakes to be applied at that time. There was no car close to me in front of me. it only lasted about a second and only slowed the vehicle down instead of bringing it to a complete stop. The risk to me was if a car had been close behind me I might have been hit from behind. The problem has not occurred since and I have not taken it to a dealer. I noticed the dash light said BRAKE but that occurred during the braking event rather than before it. I had put RainX on my windshield before leaving home and I have questioned if that had any influence on the camera seeing through the windshield. I have applied RainX on the windshield since then but I avoided putting in on the section in front of the camera.

Jul 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was driving about 25mph and my car came to a hard brake and stopped completely on its own. I did not have a brake warning light, no cars were too close in front of me. It almost caused the car behind me to rear end me. This is a 2019 Honda CRV with approximately 46,000 miles on it.

Jul 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH with her grandchild in the vehicle, the collision mitigation braking system (CMBS) engaged abruptly, nearly causing a crash. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that there were no objects or vehicles nearby the vehicle at the time of the failure. The contact stated that the failure recurred on two occasions. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.

Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My vehicle did not want to start, upon getting my vehicle checked by a mechanic my battery, starter, alternator, key fob were good. Mechanic checked the car with his computer and no problems appeared in the system. Upon checking online many Hondas and Acura's have been this issue were the car doesn’t want to start or doesn’t want to turn off. Many articles online show these issues are with the start button on these cars. The engine from my 2019 CRV almost started when using the keyless function from the key fob while outside the vehicle. My mechanic said there has to be an electrical or computer issue because the car wants to start but it’s not getting enough signal. This is a big safety issue that a car is unresponsive, if your in a parking lot or closed structure and the car does not want to turn off it can turn into a big safety hazard.

Jul 2023 STEERING 2019 CRV After recent service (May 2023 63,000 miles) We had oil change/tire rotation. We noticed about a week later the car would make a clicking sound when turning to the left and the steering wheel would stick where it wouldn't move. We called the dealership where all service has been performed. We brought it in on the 19th of June and 2 techs and an advisor said they drove it and could not duplicate the problem. We drove off and first turn that was made the clicking sound happened and the steering wheel would stick in place. I was asked to bring in back in after complaining that it was still having the same issue. Within 30 mins I was told the power steering rack would need to be replaced at a cost of $3,110. I said this car is 4 years old and it already need 15% of its value in repairs? I am still paying on it. The dealership just said this is what is wrong with it and this is how much it is to repair. I called corporate Honda and told them I didn't believe this was something that should be tearing up at 60k miles. They talked to the dealer and said they will pay for 60% of it but I'm still on the hook for $1400. Looking at other complaints here it seems this should be a recall and covered by Honda. I advise everyone to buy an extended warranty because this is not part of the powertrain. The replaced part is only covered for 12 months 12,000 miles.
