Jan 2024 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the messages "Emission System Problem", "Brake System Problem”, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Problem", "Brake Hose System Problem" and "Power Steering EPS Fault" were displayed. The contact stated that the vehicle had not experienced a mechanical failure. The contact stopped driving the vehicle due to safety concerns. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.

Jan 2024 STEERING,POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM While driving the car at highway speed the vehicle experienced a complete loss of power to all essential functions. The engine shutdown and there was no steering and loss of some of the brake functions. Multiple warnings started showing ( too many to list here ). The car came to a stop partially in the highway and we experienced several near misses by passing vehicles before we could get enough assistance to push the vehicle out of the roadway. Since this incident a simple search has shown that this is a very common problem with this vehicle. It appears that it could be a problem with the computer software. This problem has a very high potential for serious injury or death when it occurs while driving at highway speeds. Please look into this issue as soon as possible.

Jan 2024 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE seems like this is an on going issue honda safety systems failing around 30k miles. loss of all systems VSA, RMS, ACC, CMS. prior to all loss, the system would out of the blue activate when there was no cause. system will not reset and all dash warnings are on all started when the front right wheel might have had a slip issue going through a puddle of water. with the large amounts of failures, honda needs to step up and fix these issues as it is now a guaranteed profit maker for their dealers as estimated cost is 1800 dollars, pretty stiff for fixed ss income.

Jan 2024 STEERING I live in Puerto RIco. I was just quoted $3,000 for new Rack and Pinion. Vehicle always maintained correctly and almost new, not even 5 years. Honda knows that this problem with the Rack and Pinions exist and is a safety concern and issue. Other three vehicles in the dealer repair shop with the same issue, one of them with only 900 miles. Other customers had to pay full price. Honda knows about this problem, a recent recall for Civics was announced for their Rack and Pinions. Many Rack and Pinions have problems and Honda has not recalled this part for CRVs. I change engine oil every 3,000 miles with high quality Synthetic oil. Honda original filter. Changed Transmission oil every 30,000 miles and coolant as well. This is a SAFETY, a costly part the Honda knows is faulty and should be recalled immediately. I'm a customer that bought this Honda CRV-Touring expecting the quality and reliability that Honda has claimed. Today I received the news of a gas pump recalled, and a prematurely faulty Rack and Pinion. This is just unbelievable. I'm writing in the hopes of some good news from Honda to replace my Rack and Pinion before an accident happens. I'm still paying for this vehicle. Dec 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Nothing has happened thus far, but: Read about the recall in the paper. Went to the Honda website where they confirmed the vehicle is part of the recall and said "Your search results indicate that your vehicle may be affected by a recall. If you conducted your search by VIN, please take immediate action to have your vehicle repaired, as your safety may be at risk." Went to the NHTSA website, where you all said, "Safety Risk: If the fuel pump module is inoperative, the engine may not start or can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury." Additionally from NHTSA "Recall Status: Recall Incomplete, remedy not yet available." Called the local Honda dealership and they said they won't have parts until Fall 2024. Per NHTSA website "If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner, please file an online complaint with NHTSA." So that's what I'm doing.

Dec 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ENGINE Was parked on side of road. No previous warning lights. Car would not start. Unable to put on hazard lights in dark on highway. Had to be towed. All dash wearing lights on only. Was at dealer 2 months prior due to all dash lights on and power failure. Replaced battery and car was re coded per dealer. Prior to that all dash lights came on when car turned off and had to disconnect battery cable every night. Now car does not turnover when jumped and battery charged. Dealer thinks might be a smart unit and parasitic battery drain. Car only has 42000 miles on it. No hazards, worried about being rear ended. i What if there was an abrupt power failure while driving. Living in Wisconsin what if stranded in freezing temps. Unreliable car due to manufacture defects.

Dec 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Rear doors will not open when getting out or opening. I changed batteries in key fob, but didn't help. 12/27/23 all lights on dash went black and stayed off for about 5 miles. I've had the brakes stop me and I was thrown forward hard. My main worry is if my electrical system goes out while driving, will my car lock up and cause an accident?

Dec 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Tues 12-12-23 about 7:10 am. The sun has risen. No rain or weather issues. No cars were driving in front or behind me. One lane road. Driving about  25 mph. A metal plate for road construction is across the lane. My 2019 CR-V comes to a sudden, complete stop. No warning, just beeps and slams on the brakes. Tires screech and my bags fly off the seat. Thankfully, no one was behind me or I could easily have been rear ended. This has happened to me before, two times before in a different city about 2 years ago. Day time, sunny, there was a metal plate in the lane. I was traveling 30+ mph. Again, the car just suddenly comes to a  complete stop. Same thing happened in the same spot about a week later with a passenger in the car. The second time the car behind me did also have to slam on their brakes and honk, but no accident occured.I did some reading up online and found the existing investigation. I'm horrified to see that this is happening so frequently with these cars and can happen at highway speeds. I'm scared to drive my car because these metal construction plates are such a normal occurance on roads. I have not been to a dealer yet as there appears to be no fix for this yet.

The contact stated that the failure occurred on a second occasion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the failure was due to the key fob being pressed unintendedly. The contact stated that the failure occurred a third time while the vehicle was parked overnight in a friend's garage. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Dec 2023 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was driving my 2019 Honda CRV yesterday and it slammed on the brakes to a complete stop all by itself. It shocked me and jerked my head so badly. If I wasn't wearing my seat belt I would have gone through the windshield. If someone was driving behind me, they would have hit me. Please advise on what I should do. There is not a recall but online I saw there were other occurrences like this. This is the first time this has happened since I bought the car new. I have not taken it to the dealer yet. The brake warning light came on as it was braking.

Dec 2023 SERVICE BRAKES I was driving on the highway at a speed of about 60 mph. I tried to push the break pedal because a car stopped in front of me. The distance between the other car and my car was initially about 200 ft. After I pushed the breaks, the breaks did not respond at all and the car kept going at the same speed. That caused an accident. These details are documented in a police report. Nov 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM 2019 Honda CRV 61K Miles, already had all lights on dash pop up. Says battery is bad, but its good. Then asked me to change engine filter and cabin, done and good now its saying fuel injectors? When does it end this is a joke

Nov 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM After waiting in car, dash board went crazy with all warning lights scrolling. Two dealers refused to take car because the dash stopped. This happened 3 times. Third time, Autozone x2 and Firestone, independent of one another said computer issue and that a code for rich fuel was coming up. On sixth check, mechanic private used code reader after check engine light came on. Dash went berserk twice. They refused to touch vehicle stating it’s electrical. Took it to dealer who kept car for five weeks. ‘Can’t get an active code. We can start with fuel injectors’. ‘Maybe’ that will stop dash board issue. Now, five days after this diagnosis, dealer states that the tech DID find drop in voltage happening intermittently. When I asked why I was not told this originally - he cited mis communication. Car runs great. No repairs done yet as no one knows what to do. 114,000 miles. Highway. I am on several forums and this is not an isolated issue. Help please

Nov 2023 ENGINE The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving uphill at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal grinding sound was coming from the vehicle. The failure persisted and the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact called a friend who assisted with having the vehicle towed to the residence. The contact called a local dealer and an independent mechanic who declined to service the vehicle. The contact then called Honda of Cleveland (2701 S Lee Hwy, Cleveland, TN 37311) who agreed to service the vehicle. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer and the contact was informed that a blown engine rod had caused the failure. The manufacturer agreed to cover half the cost of a new engine while the contact paid the remaining balance for a new engine. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 69,784.

Nov 2023 ENGINE This happens at least once a week. My engine randomly stalls and restarts while driving. Sometimes it happens while I'm turning my steering wheel to the left, and other times it happens while driving on the highway. The whole car shuts down for a few seconds and then restarts and continues as if nothing was wrong. I've also had occasions where, when I turn my steering wheel, some of the features will stop working, like lane assist, cruise control, etc.

Nov 2023 ENGINE When outside temp is below 30 degrees, the engine will not generate heat unless driven for several miles. When you stop and let car idle the engine temperature drops very low not allowing the inside cabin to remain warm. So basically if I get stuck in a snowstorm I could freeze to death because this car will maintain a warm temperature unless it’s been driven.
