May 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My daughter was driving my car and she noticed this terrible smell and some of the lights came on to check the engine so we took it to get looked at and they said they didn’t see anything wrong. So she was driving it and then all the lights came on and the car would not drive. We had it taken to a place to get looked at and they said they couldn’t fix it so we had to take it to Honda and they said it needed new fuel injectors and this was not cheap. I was very upset with Honda because they know this is an issue with this year and make of car but they don’t want to pay to fix it and they never fixed the recall because he said they do not have the parts until later in the year. That is ridiculous. I’ve never had any problems with Honda until now and I’ve had many Hondas. My daughter could have been hit by another car or anything could have happened. They need to pay for this $2,000 repair. Thank you

Apr 2024 STEERING The steering on this vehicle became -?sticky-? and requires extra force to pull it from the center position. This little bit of extra force causes overcorrection of the vehicle making it unstable and unsafe. Dealer wants $3500 to fix a premature and unsafe electronic steering issue . Vehicle has not been crashed or damaged in any way. i have contacted American Honda but they will not fix the problem, answering( sorry, but your vehicle is out of warranty) . Problem has been reproduced by dealer, no warning light on vehicle.

Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My wife was the driver, and I was in the front passenger seat. We were going about 35 MPH. Weather was not an issue. All of a sudden, and for no apparent reason, the car emergency braked to an emergency stop. We saw no warning lights on the instrument panel prior to the incident or afterwards. Traffic was light and nothing was nearby. Luckily no one was behind us, and no accident occurred. My wife and I had seat belts on and were not injured. We had our two dogs with us. They were thrown forward but were not injured, though they were scared. They are okay. We took the car to the Honda dealership in Jefferson City, MO. They checked the car and said that a temporary stop of the radar code was stored in the Integrated Driver Support System. They believed most likely a rock had hit the radar assembly and knocked it out of aim. They needed to recalibrate the radar to fix it. They said there was also a leak of the air conditioning and repair should be done at same time as the radar repair because the front bumper and radar had to be removed to perform the repairs. A part had to be ordered, so we had repair done six days later. In the meantime, we disabled the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) feature. The car has now been fixed and appears to be operating properly, with AEB on.

The air bags in the vehicle deployed all except the rear driver side. The contact and the rear driver-side passenger were transported to the hospital by an ambulance. The contact had a broken left hand, 3 broken ribs, seatbelt injury, partial lumbar herniation, and left shin was bruised and had an open wound. The front passenger left the scene and did not receive medical treatment until the following day, they suffered a broken right wrist. The rear passenger sustained a broken spine, massive internal injuries that required emergency surgery, and a bruised kidney however she succumbed to her injuries 3 weeks later. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the Impound lot. The insurance company towed the vehicle and deemed it totaled. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Traveling about 30mph on a street, the car activated the automatic breaking for no apparent reason. The screen flashed the orange “BREAK” sign at the same time that the car slammed the brakes on (with no prior warning). There were no cars in front, next to, or around me to the sides. There were no people or animals around and the weather was fully clear. The car behind me honked loudly at the sudden breaking of my vehicle. Everything in my car flew forwards (bags falling off the seat into the foot bed). It was very dangerous and I was lucky to avoid being hit from behind. I believe I injured my back and neck from the short stop as well. And my car just went through a full inspection at Firestone two days ago and everything checked out fine. The breaks activated for absolutely no apparent reason.

Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2019 Honda CR-V. The contact stated while driving 50-55 MPH with no other vehicles nearby, the brake warning light illuminated and the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) engaged inadvertently, causing the vehicle to come to a complete stop. The contact stated that she depressed the accelerator pedal and resumed normal driving. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving on another occasion. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the contact was informed that the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA24002 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

Apr 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Our 2019 Honda CRV had all warning lights on and flashing non-stop on the dash. We contacted Honda support and was asked to take car to a Honda dealer for diagnostics. We took the car to a Honda dealer in Huston TX. They found the cause DTC P0301, a internal failure to fuel injectors. We had to pay the dealer cash $$$$. We submitted the all repair documentations to Honda and asked for a reimbursement. Honda Co should have refund this repair cost!! It's so unfair that Honda denied to cover this recall repair just because somehow our car was not in the recall list!

Apr 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The infotainment screen starts glitching out on extended trips. It constantly beeps and flashes on the screen as of a button is being pressed. It also will not allow you to turn the system off to remove the distraction. This happened on a trip to Chattanooga in July 2022 and was 'fixed' with a software update. It happened again on [XXX]. Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was driving on the highway in Atlanta at approximately average highway speed. I hit the break to avoid a vehicle - I don’t thin the extent of breaking was unusual breaking, but perhaps a bit harder than usual - and then I removed my foot off the break. The problem arose when the break remained engaged after I removed my foot from the break. Cars around me swerved in all directions to avoid hitting me. Eventually, perhaps one to two seconds later, the break disengaged and I was able to control the vehicle. I was alarmed that the break remained engaged after I removed my foot from the break and felt I had no control of the vehicle.

Apr 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Hello I have been so upset with Honda. I’ve owned many Hondas and other cars in my past and never had any problems. I would tell anyone to buy a Honda until now. My daughter has been driving my car and she said it smelled bad and all the lights kept coming on. We took it to a mechanic and at that time they didn’t really see anything wrong with it. My daughter kept driving it and we found out about the recall and called to have that fixed and they said they don’t have the part and they don’t know when they will get it. Well that was upsetting because we felt that was an issue with the car and we didn’t understand why they couldn’t just order the part give us something else to drive until they got it in but no such luck. The last time I talked to Honda in Marion, Ohio they said I didn’t need the part but clearly that is wrong. Well the part I’m the most upset about is my daughter could have died driving down the road and all the lights came on in the vehicle and it would not drive while she’s out in the middle of nowhere scared half to death. We get the vehicle to Honda and they say it’s the fuel injectors. I’m like no one’s fuel injectors go out. Well I look it up and it’s a huge problem for Honda and they just don’t want to pay to have them replaced. It has cost me $2000 and had to get another car to drive and my Honda still isn’t driving very good and still no recall fixed. This is wrong! I am very disappointed in Honda and shocked. What can I do about this situation?

Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Driving along highway at highway speeds, the automatic braking system indicated 'BRAKE' in the center dash when there was no object in front of me. The vehicle did _not_ auto brake, but that was obviously the next step/possible if it continued to malfunction (actually brake the vehicle).

Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was driving my car in the city going 40 mph down a 4-lane road. There was no other traffic on the road at that time ahead of me, and the conditions of the roadway were dry with sunny weather. My vehicle's dashboard flashed and indicated automatic emergency breaking a couple of times, and suddenly slammed on the brakes. If the driver behind me had not been paying attention, then they could have rear-ended me causing injuries to the occupants of both vehicles. I was able to keep the vehicle in my lane, but the seatbelt knocked the air out of me due to the abrupt nature of the stop. I called the dealership, and they were not sure what caused it but informed me that I should wait until it does it again before bringing it in to be recalibrated.

Apr 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE CMBS braking malfunction. The car will brake on its own at highway speeds due to thinking you were going to crash when there are no other objects or vehicles in the roadway. Issue has become more frequent and I have found many forums and articles online of people with these issues, but my car Cannot be fixed, the dealer has no idea what to do. i’ve had this issue since my car only had 18,000 miles on it last year. It is going to cause a crash. At times it brakes to the point where I am almost stopped on the highway.

Apr 2024 AIR BAGS,SEAT BELTS,SEATS The passenger side seat weight sensor assembly failed. It is available for inspection. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by a certified Honda dealer. The airbag light stayed on beginning in December 2023. The SRS warning light came on in March 2024. This defect was subject to a recall of CRV’s manufactured from 2020 to 2022. We believe the 2019 vehicles were affected also and should have been part of the recall. Honda has recognized this problem and has reimbursed us $800 of the $1758.68 of the repair bill.

Apr 2024 STRUCTURE On Wednesday, [XXX], the sunroof glass of my 2019 Honda Cr-V Ex spontaneously exploded while driving on the highway. There was a startling loud sound that rendered me shocked while driving! It caused me to take my eyes off the road to look around my vehicle and in the rear-view mirror to see what had happened. Nothing hit the vehicle! Luckily, there were no other vehicles nor pedestrians nearby. I maintained staying in my lane, but I was completely distracted by the sound, this could have been dangerous! Also luckily, the interior sunroof shade was closed or I'd have been showered in broken glass. The service manager at the dealer I called, Greensboro Honda, said "I'm not going to lie, I have heard of this happening before". There are many reports of this happening online and, according to news station reports, an NHTSA investigation that was closed in 2021 citing that it “has not identified sufficient evidence of a safety-related defect in the subject sunroof.” On the same day the incident occurred, my vehicle was inspected by the Service employees of Honda of Greensboro, NC. They refused to fix the problem b/c the 'Area Manager", against the recommendation of the 'Service Manager', stated that "something must have hit the vehicle". I repeatedly insisted that nothing hit the vehicle. I have filed a claim with Nationwide Insurance. Greensboro of Honda did take photos and they taped the hole in the sunroof at no charge which was kind yet suspicious since I bought this 'Certified Pre-owned" vehicle at Leith Honda of Aberdeen. The Greensboro Honda dealership is not owned by Leith. Twice, once by phone message and once via email, I requested the email, denying the issue be fixed by Honda, between the 'Service Manager' and the 'Area Manager' at Greensboro Honda be forwarded to me, to no avail. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Note: the shape of the fractured glass hole look almost identical to others. Apr 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The Safety Recall Notice that I have received from Honda (relating to my 2019 CRV) states that the fuel pump may fail and that could result in an accident. Then they state that the replacement parts will not be available until the Fall 2024. A copy of the recall notice is attached. I am concerned that I will be driving a vehicle, for many months, which might cause an accident. It is irresponsible of Honda to not address this issue quickly.
