| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I took my 2019 Honda Civic into the dealership because I got a warning signal that says, collision mitigation system problem. The dealership says it needs a part that is back ordered and told me I could drive vehicle until part comes in. It has been several weeks. I am not comfortable driving my vehicle with this warning light on plus whatever they did since I assume this is a vital safety component/system. Also0, I have no cruise which makes long trips uncomfortable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The emergency braking system auto brakes when to close etc mines done it multiple times with car ahead of me by 2/3 car lengths and even while switching lanes it’s auto brakes for no reason | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES | The contact owned a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while her son was using the vehicle's cruise control at approximately 65 mph, he attempted to activate the brakes however they failed to stop the vehicle. The driver attempted to use the emergency braking system within the vehicle however that too failed to stop the vehicle. As a result, he rear-ended a truck in front. The air bags did deploy. A police report was filed. The driver received injuries to both legs, shoulders, arms, head and neck that required medical attention. There was damage to the truck rear-ended. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case regarding the matter. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000 | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | 29,000 |
| Jun 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | There have been 3 times that this has happened. The first time I was driving and no car was in front of me. There was a car parked off to the side and my car sensored the car off to the side and the emergency braking system came on. My car slammed on the brakes automatically and I was going 45 mph and the seat belts locked up, while my car dived forward. I had to slam on the gas to avoid someone rear ending me behind me on a busy road. The other two times this happened occurred within 2 days of each other. The first was in broad daylight and my car sensored a shadow on the road, setting off the emergency braking system, making my car automatically brake and locking up the seat belts again. I was going 65 mph on this road as it was an interstate. I had to also slam on the gas to avoid an accident. The third time was 2 days later driving at night with no one around me, and I was on an exit 3 minutes away from my apartment. I’m not sure what set off the emergency braking system this time, as I didn’t see a shadow since it was dark out, but once again, it came on, locking up the seat belts. This time I was going 35 mph. I’m lucky each time I was able to get out of it and avoided an accident but I am truly scared to drive my car as this happens out of the blue when the cruise is not on or whether the cruise control is on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2022 | STEERING | The rack and pinion was failing. It caused problems with the steering causing unsafe driving conditions. I took the car to Honda and they said the rack and pinion was bad. I did contact Honda headquarters and they claimed there was nothing they could do about it since the car was out of warranty. I had this part replaced by an independent auto mechanic. They said the auto part store said they have been receiving orders for the rack and pinion at a rate of 5 per month. Considering how many parts store there are, this seem to be an unusual amount of a part failing. I have seen many complaints online about this part failing on Honda cars. This part should not fail especially at low milage. My car does have 65,000 miles on it, but the conditions started about 30,000 miles ago. I was unaware of what was happening back at the beginning, I knew something was wrong, but I didn't realize what, and it just got worse as time went on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2022 | EQUIPMENT | When selecting Reverse, the rearview camera usually displays quickly, but sometimes takes several seconds to display, or doesn't display at all (the screen remains black). This detracts from my ability to reverse safely. The radio / vehicle information display usually responds quickly to a button press, but sometimes can take several seconds to respond. Since I don't anticipate the delay, I tend to continue watching the screen while I'm waiting for it to react, instead of paying attention to the road. Especially while driving at highway speeds, these intermittent, variable delays can take my attention away from the road for a dangerous amount of time before I realize I'm not watching the road as I should be. Since the rearview camera uses the radio display, I think these issues may be related. This has been going on since the car was new. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | VISIBILITY | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic Sedan. The contact stated the AC unit was blowing hot air through the vents. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the AC compressor to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 43,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 43,000 |
| Apr 2022 | POWER TRAIN | 2019 HONDA CIVIC. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO KEYLESS CVT TRANSMISSION. THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS POSSIBLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE POWERED OFF WHILE IN REVERSE. THIS COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BUT, DID NOT OFFER A SOLUTION. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | COMMUNICATION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance System would inadvertently activate intermittently without a vehicle nearby. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 10,000 |
| Apr 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The starter was having trouble igniting the engine upon startup. The engine would crank but would not finish with starting up. I did this three or four times. Upon removing the key from the ignition and putting it back in the ignition and starting it up the car started up normally. The issue seems to be with either the ignition system or fuel system, which is available for inspection upon request. The car could suddenly stop without warning on the road and endanger the safety of myself or other drivers. The problem was previously acknowledged by NHTSA in two separate campaign numbers in May 2020 (20V314000) and March 2021 (21V215000) and this particular Civic was serviced in 2021in accordance with that recall and confirmed by the dealer. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 1.The Automatic Breaking System malfunctioned, and is available for inspection upon request. 2. Safety was at risk because in March 2020, the car stopped itself on North Carolina route 70 in the middle of traffic without warning and without cause/reason. 3. Dealership inspected the system on April 1st, 2021 and found no issue. They told me to manually turn off the system every time I start the car. 4. No, the car was not inspected for the ABS by the manufacturer, police, insurance, or anyone else. 5.No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were on. Finding this article has prompted me to pursue the problem again. https://myfox8.com/news/money-matters/over-1-7m-hondas-investigated-for-unexpected-automatic-braking/?utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=socialflow&utm_source=facebook.com&fbclid=IwAR3h1YQ5WtFCpKL7VaZ4jB2gP4TmhAukrSG72UX_7pLXQF7XN4bMQIWITDc | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The vehicle's automatic braking function activates for no reason. Should only function if it detects objects in it's path which driver not reacting to. It has happened multiple times at both freeway speed as well as city speed. Mostly happens quick, applying slight brake with "brake" light illuminating on dash then quits. Scared it will apply full braking at some point. I know you are claiming occurs on Accords and CR-V but mine being a Civic it is happening to me also. Please address this and require Honda to fix this FAST! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Nov 2021 | AIR BAGS | I have been experiencing some rickety, creaking sound on my steering wheel coming from the SRS module for the past month. I've taken the car to the dealer 5 times and they did some work and on my last visit, they decide to replace the airbag module but still up to now the problem persists. I think this is a safety problem that needs to be dealt with before somebody gets hurt. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2021 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I took my car in for servicing May 2021. When i was there The Coral Springs Honda dealer informed me that they ordered my parts for my cars recall. I called them in July to check on the status after failing to hear from them and they said they did not have the part. So now it is September and i am still here with a possibly faulty Fuel pump. I want this recall situated. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Aug 2021 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | 2019 Honda Civic EX was running normally. Next day I start it up and nearly every warning light on the dash illuminates—no power steering, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, braking system, and more. Car is not drivable. At 39K miles Honda says it’s out of warranty. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2021 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I was driving my Honda Civic 2019 in the freeway- car pool lane. All of a sudden, without any warning light or symptoms, my car engine just stalled. I immediately switched on the emergency light and put the car in neutral gear and somehow made sure the cars behind me were aware that I am stalled. Luckily no crash/incident, but I was stuck in car pool lane still at the risk of car pile up accident. I called 911 and a cop showed in the next 5 minutes. He stopped all cars in all lanes and pushed my car gently over shoulder. Those 5 minutes was very risky and the scariest spot where me and wife were sitting in the car in the car pool lane while cars behind us were dodging us to avoid crash. Now, Honda is saying this may be fuel pump problem and when I checked my VIN in NHTSA, it has the incomplete recall for fuel pump. I wanted the concerned authorities to take action over Honda to recall all cars with this issue to replace fuel pumps immediately to avoid any crashes. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
