Oct 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION My truck has a blue screen that appears randomly on occasion that states service rear view system. This is a major safety concern. And after reading online it is a very common occurrence on 2019-2025 gm pickups. It needs to be recalled and a for sure fix done to prevent from backing into someone or something. I have small children and my biggest fear is running them over while playing in the yard and I rely very much on my rear view/360 camera to make sure this doesn’t happen even after double and triple checking they are no where near danger before stepping in my vehicle.

Sep 2025 ENGINE As I was turning left from a county road to a highway my truck died on me. I was able to push it out of the road with the help of two other motorist. This is the second time in 4 months were my truck broke down due to engine failure. I had the motor repaired the first week in June 2025 for a similar instance. My truck is at the dealership right now awaiting repair because GM will not recognize that my 2019 6.2 L87 engine has the same known defects as other 2019 6.2 L87. This is a safety issue which GM refuses to acknowledge on my vehicle.

Sep 2025 ENGINE Our GMC engine with VIN# above needs to be recalled due to the failed Active Fuel Management (AFM) lifter which resulted in misfire’s & engine failure. GMC's defective lifters create a safety concern due to potential engine stalling and power loss while driving, which can lead to dangerous traffic accidents. While GM has implemented extended component coverage for some issues and issued a recall for a related problem with L87 V8 engines, they have not with our GMC Sierra with the VIN# listed above, which has the same safety concern. Our GMC is currently at the dealership and we are determining next steps. Thankfully, my husband pulled over on the side of the road and turned the vehicle off before complete power loss. There was not much notification with the engine light prior to the incident. This could have ended very badly with my husband being injured or even worse my three children also being injured.

Sep 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Vehicle (2019 GMC Sierra SLT X31!Crew Cab 6.2 l gas engine) stopped running while driving down the road (Wednesday [XXX]. Tried to start truck - would crank over quickly but failed to start ( crank no start with no check engine light.) tried several times same result. Started after about 5-10 minutes and was displaying low fuel indicator even though we knew it had approximately 1/2 tank. We immediately put gas in it and it took approximately 1/2 tank to fill. Still no check engine light and confirmed no stored codes via onstar report. Drove the truck around for may 1hr and check engine light came on but was still running and did not stop running like it did earlier. On star reported ECM SYSTEM CODE P129F ( Fuel pump or fuel pump power control module). Long story short, put truck in independent repair shop I use. They diagnosed it was a defective fuel pump located in fuel tank. They told me GM technical support recommended to replace the fuel pump and fuel pump power and control module at a cost of ~$1325.00. It is my opinion this is a safety hazard and very similar if not exactly the same failure symptoms / modes as others have already reported. I requested to keep the failed parts and still have them in my possession. Please review and let me know if you need or want additional information . Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN My truck is currently experiencing shuddering when driving. This happens at random times but is becoming more frequent. I have taken it into service shops on numerous occasions, and they have not been able to identify the cause due to my truck not exhibiting these conditions when they are diagnosing it. I have run out of funds to continually pay for diagnostic fees, so I have had to let it go until recently. Now it shudders, shifts very harshly, rpms fluctuate continuously, knocking noise when driving, and in the mornings when I first leave for work, my truck will not shift out of first without revving high in rpms. I took it to a mechanic and was told that it was my torque converter, which has now damaged my transmission. All of which I have to pay for out of pocket. These symptoms started when my vehicle was still under warranty (around 30,000 miles). I even flushed the transmission, and it did not help. This is my daily driving truck, and I use it to go to work and transport my 3 young children around. Most of our driving is done on the highway at high speeds (70 mph). When my truck shudders or shifts harshly, I feel that it is going to cause me to lose control or wreck, putting not only my life but my children's lives in danger. I have not consulted a lawyer, as I do not have enough money to do so. I have not had the manufacturer look at it, because when I called about it, they told me I would have to pay for all service fees since it is out of warranty. The only warning lamps I get is when it goes into limp mode (which is at least once or twice a month) and by the time I used to get it to a mechanic, the light was off and they said there is nothing they could do about it. All of this has been happening to some degree since it was around 30,000 miles and only getting worse. The fact that I have put over $20,000 into this (not including my monthly payments of $990) and now have to replace the transmission & torque converter is ridiculous.

Aug 2025 PARKING BRAKE,ENGINE The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving on three occasions and stopped, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the message to "Check Parking Brake" was displayed. The contact engaged and disengaged the parking brake. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the lifers and cam shaft needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000.

Aug 2025 ENGINE Engine failure; according to GM Mechanics, the lifters failed and this resulted in a broken push rod. Vehicle is now waiting for a new engine; $8,882.00 out of pocket from owner, because current recall does not include the 2019 or 2020; only the 2021 and newer of the same enginee, with the same exact failures. Vehicle has under 75,000 miles and has been serviced for oil change and engine maintenance at GM dealership since purchased. Several different mechanics, on with over 40 years of GM Engine experience, have evaluated the engine all deeming the same failure. Dealership confirms that there is a 6 to 8 week lead time for the new engine because, quote, "there are so many being replaced for the existing recall". I received no warning from the vehicle systems, no information from the local GM dealership or any other communication that my vehicle was at risk for this failure. I am without a vehicle for likely 2 months and will be 'out of pocket' almost $9,000.00 when this is done. This is my second Sierra Denali 1500 in the past 10 years, and my >10th GM vehicle to own, and for the 'Premium Pick-up Truck' on the market, I have always expected the finest quality and service, and this situation changes everything.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN I bought my 2019 GMC Sierra in August of 2019. It had 3000 miles when I bought it. It now has 59000 miles on it and is in the shop today for transmission repair. The authorized dealer has flushed the transmission and I am waiting for a call back. The flush will be in the $500+ range and they charge a $165 diagnostic fee also. The transmission shudders, knocks and grabs when I accelerate. It feels like I have been rear ended. It also leaps from a complete stop. It doesn't accelerate smoothly. I feel this is a dangerous situation. I have called GMC Customer Service to complain and they have escalated to someone who is going to call me back in 24-48 hours.

Aug 2025 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH, there was an audible chime heard, and the message "Stop Engine - Zero Oil Pressure" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was turned off and towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine had seized due to a lack of engine oil. The contact was informed that the engine oil cooler line had detached from the crimp and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Subject: Urgent Vehicle Safety Complaint – 2019 GMC Sierra Denali Escalating mechanical and electrical failures — many beginning before 100,000 miles, and continuing as of today, at approximately 110,000 miles. These issues have made the vehicle unreliable and unsafe to drive. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have had it serviced regularly and reported that it was driving rough, jerking into gear, and showing early signs of engine and transmission problems. These issues were noted during multiple multipoint inspection services, yet no lasting solutions were provided. Major issues have included: •Engine performance failures •Fuel injector malfunction •Serpentine belt and idler pulley damage •A/C compressor belt failure •Power steering malfunctions •Vehicle stalling at traffic lights •Loss of power on major highways •Rear window water leaks •Significant and ongoing electrical system problems •Shaking when brakes applied after having brakes and rotors replace in March •Screen monitor going out after paying over $ 900 dollars for updated software and repairs to the electronic component that cost over $2500. Despite continued maintenance, on Thursday, July 3, 2025, my truck began losing power and smoking heavily while driving on a busy highway in Georgia. My grandchild, who was riding with me, yelled, “Grandma, it’s smoking — please get out!” as we pulled off the road in fear of a fire. This terrifying incident left us stranded and emphasized just how dangerous this vehicle has become. I filed a formal complaint with the GMC Corporate Office, but no support provided or an investigation. Over the past six months, I have spent more than $5,000 trying to keep this vehicle operational. So many critical systems have failed, despite consistent maintenance, raises serious concerns. Finally, the fuel injector repaired 3 days later a message on dashboard displaying service Tire monitor system and steering wheel shaking when brakes are applied.

Aug 2025 ENGINE Check engine light came on for the first time. Engine started knocking, had loss in power, took it to the closest shop. Initial report was lifter failure, after taking apart the engine for lifter replacement they deduced the bad lifters also were accompanied by camshaft damage, and bad heads. Overall resulting in engine replacement being required. Again, first time the check engine light has come on.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would intermittently hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact also stated that the check engine warning light had flashed on the instrument panel. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, where the mechanic informed the contact that there was a miscommunication between the engine and the transmission. Two dealers were notified of the failure, and each informed the contact that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The contact was also given a diagnostic fee to determine the cause of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN Component/System that failed: The issue appears to originate from the transmission or drivetrain, specifically resulting in the rear wheels locking up and dragging at low speeds. It feels like something is seizing inside the drivetrain, making the truck very difficult to move. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. How safety was put at risk: This failure presents a serious and unpredictable safety hazard. The vehicle begins locking up randomly when slowing down, such as in parking lots or residential areas. If this occurred at higher speeds or in traffic, it could easily result in a crash, loss of control, or pedestrian injury. It’s completely unreliable and unsafe to operate in this condition. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or service center? The issue is part of a well-known transmission defect affecting GM’s 8-speed automatic transmissions. There are multiple class action lawsuits and thousands of consumer complaints documenting identical symptoms. GM is fully aware of the defect but has refused to issue a recall, instead allowing the time-based warranty to expire even when the mileage is still well within the 60,000-mile limit. My local GMC dealer refused to offer a loaner or goodwill repair and quoted over a week just to diagnose it despite knowing that this is a known failure point. The symptoms are consistent with the known defect GM continues to avoid addressing. Has it been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance? No outside inspection has occurred yet. Given the widespread documentation of this defect and the consistency of symptoms, it should not be necessary to involve other parties. Were there any warning lamps or messages? No. There were no warning lights, messages, or alerts of any kind. The failure occurs randomly, and without any prior indication. That unpredictability makes the issue even more dangerous.

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH, the message "Battery Saver Alert" was displayed on the instrument cluster. The contact stated that the battery gauge was reading 9V on the 12V battery. The vehicle was driven to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that a battery tender was needed. The contact asked the dealer to check the 12-Volt battery which was replaced 2 years prior by the same dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the alternator needed to be replaced. The contact was later informed that the battery fuse also needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V888000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 43,742.

Aug 2025 ENGINE While traveling on the freeway at freeway speeds and with the cruise control on, on 7/22/2025, my vehicle abruptly start making an odd noise, the steering wheel started to vibrate / move as if I had a flat tire. I safely existed the freeway and pulled over to investigate, there was no flat tire yet the vehicle still made the noise and experienced issues when the throttle was applied. I proceeded to call a tow truck, and have the vehicle towed from Alpine, CA to Temecula and Temecula Valley GMC. While there the dealership gave me an initial diagnosis of "Miss fire in cylinder 8". We left the vehicle, and awaited more information. The next day I received a phone call stating that they needed to do an engine teardown to completely diagnose the issue, to the tune of approx. $1,500. In the dealers words, they needed to do the teardown to determine if "They could salvage the engine, or if it had to be condemned". The following day I received another call stating that the engine needed to be completely replaced due to a collapsed cylinder. The estimate for this work is over $13,000. the truck is 6 years old with 58,XXX miles.
