Aug 2024 ENGINE The engine of the vehicle malfunctioned. The vehicle is available, but however it was taken to a certified dealership to be repaired. My safety and the safety of my three nieces, who were in the vehicle at the time, were put at risk as the vehicle all of a sudden staled in the middle of the Interstate while driving at 75 miles speed rate. The dealership repaired the vehicle by replacing the engine because the camshaft was scored, one of the lifters had failed, and a pushrod was bent. The only warning lamp/message was at the time of stale which read service ESC, Service parking break, and there was a third message but could not remember. I have only had the vehicle for sixteen months. The vehicle was taken in for it regularly scheduled oil changes and tire rotations. There were no issues or warnings prior to the engine replacement which cost me $8623.00.

Jul 2024 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT. Truck would not start on several occassions. By playing with brake, shift, and steering wheel truck would start again., Also would show warning notices, last one being {engine oil low-add oil}, even right after I just had the oil changed. This last time it would not start I paid to have my mechanic come to me to check it out. He tested a lot and thought it might be the starter so I then had to pay to have it flat-bedded to their garage. What he finally found was a BUNCH of wires worn through in a major wiring harness. It was caused by the wiring harness being next to the steering knuckle and the steering was wearing through the wires exposing bare wires. The mechanic and I see this as a major safety concern and a possible fire hazard. He has told me others have had similer problems . I believe this should definitly be a safety recall for these vehicles. My mechanic states that a new wiring harness olone is about $1500.00 plus a LOT of labor to install it. I do not believe that I should have to pay for a defect in GMC building this truck I have a picture of this mess of wires if you can help me with this. Don't know how to upload the photo I have but would gladly send it to you, Please respond back to this. Thank You Dennis Dorn

May 2024 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Check Engine Light came on while driving system scan states misfire cylinder 6 but resulted in the lifter being damaged as well as the cam shaft on a vehicle that has 108,000 miles. Prior to this I reported multiple times that it seemed that the transmission would slip and stuttered when on a incline and put in reverse. I was told it was a computer program issue and was charged for a software update which obviously did not fix the issue but ruined the engine.

Apr 2024 STEERING When starting the truck yesterday, not all the button lights came on and the power steering was no longer operational. Apr 2024 STEERING,WHEELS While making a righthand turn at approximately 10-15 mph, my passenger side front wheel failed at the ball joint and collapsed. Reviewing the carfax, this is the 2nd time this has happened to this vehicle (the first was on the driver side wheel). I noticed Safety Recall Report 21V-718 seems to describe the issue I'm facing with the "front upper control arm experiencing accelerated wear... leading to ball joint separation", but according to GM, since no unsatisfied recalls are shown on my VIN report, there's nothing they're willing to do. I believe the failed part number is 573. This failure left my truck sitting in the middle of the road obviously with no way to move it other than a tow truck dragging it onto his bed.

Apr 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER GMC of Vacaville California sold me a 2019 GMC Sierra that has a know back window leak issues. I was told by service worker GMC of Vacaville California sold me a 2019 GMC Sierra that has a know back window leak issues. I was told by service worker Brent Lewis/405 that is a common issue and GMC is aware of this issue that the vehicle was brought in before for this same issue prior from [XXX] but was not taken care of. I purchased this vehicle on [XXX] along with a 5k extend warranty that I was told is a bumper to bumper warranty. Come to find out it does not cover a manufacturer defected back window installation. My concern is that they are aware of these issues and water sitting on the inside of the cab due to a leak causes black mold and could cause serious illness to myself and my children. Apr 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Unknown. My truck has only about 46,000 miles . We experience heavy rains on the week of 4/8/2024 and I went to go load groceries in the back and saw water coming down the back window. I went straight to the dealer and spoke with Tom a manager at GMC. He took me to service and a mechanic came out and said this a common and expensive job. He said I may need anew window replacement. I left and did research on this problem. There seems to be EVERYONE who has a GMC or Chevy has this problem. Many people are experiencing rust, mold, etc. This is a MAJOR issue. All you hear about mold health isssues. NOT any issue that should be over look. Whenthere is water there IS mold. This issue probably has been going on longer but due to heavy rain and me going in the back I saw water. This is something that dealers need to fix.

Truck was not able to restart. If this had happened on a busy interstate. My wife and I could have been hurt or killed. Had the truck towed to dealer. Replaced the Transfer Case Module.
