| Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | The truck started to have a slight shutter when driving around 80,000 miles. it now shutters all of the time while driving. They trucks shakes. i called my local mechanic and he stated he is having a lot of calls with this make and model truck. he stated that the problem is in the transmission. the inside of the drum that houses the transmission fluid is breaking down the inside and its shredding to pieces. i was informed to call the ford dealership to see if mine was on the recall list but it is not. they acted like there hasn't been a recall for this matter. i have been stopped by random people asking if i was having this problem because them to was having the same issues. i do not feel like we as the consumers should have to pay to have this issue fixed, which is resulting in new transmissions when the problem is because of manufacturing issues. my local mechanic is saying it's costing people upwards of $8,000 to have this fixed and that is unacceptable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Transmission failure which resulted in significant loss of power when shifting gears while pulling onto a major road. This caused the vehicle to stall which could have resulted in multi car accident as well as harm to those in vehicle(s). Additionally, there have been multiple hard shifts when accelerating as well as loss or skipping of gears when traveling on the interstate. This has also happened from a stop when turning at intersections, with the transmission falling out of gear completely while driving, causing an unexpected loss of power in traffic. There were no check engine or warning lights prior to these incidents happening. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership who confirmed a new transmission was necessary and said this model is a design flaw and there are known issues with this particular transmission. The check engine light will randomly come on then go away. Fortunately it had come on the way to the dealer for inspection so they pulled the truck right back and ran diagnostics. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | 10R80 transmission is failing for the second time since vehicle was purchased new (special order) from Ford Motor Company. Once at 36,000 miles and again at 75,000 miles. Based upon information and belief the CDF drum is to blame. Among other commonly exhibited issues the transmission is randomly and unexpectedly failing to move the vehicle when in traffic, when trying to merge into traffic, and when trying to safely navigate an intersection ... creating a hazardous condition for myself and other motorists. With so many 2018+ F150 vehicles having the same transmission issue, when is NHTSA going to do something about it?! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | 2019 F-150 with 3.5L GTDI engine. Cam phasers required to be replaced on truck with 52,000 miles on it. Repair bill of $4800. Ford issued Customer Satisfaction Program ("CSP") notices 21B10 and 21N03 for Ford F-150s manufactured between 2017-2020 equipped with the 3.5L GTDI engine manufactured in Dearborn, Michigan or Kansas. A copy is attached. Under these CSPs, Ford paid for up to 100% of the repair cost, plus 1-day rental vehicle, for owners with vehicles with up to 69,999 miles on them. Ford has refused to apply the CSP to my truck, despite it only having 52,000 miles, because they say the CSP did not apply to my VIN. However, my truck is the same make, model, engine type and manufacturing location as identified in the CSP, and I have the EXACT same engine issue as described in the CSP. I did not receive any letter or recall notice from Ford regarding this issue and they expect me to pay $4,800 to get my truck back from the dealership simply because the CSP "didn't attach to my VIN." It's not a coincidence that my truck has the EXACT same characteristics and engine problem as identified in the CSP. But while thousands of consumers with THE SAME TRUCK had this repair 100% covered by Ford, I have to pay $4,800. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | When pressing the gas pedal to accelerate , the truck will not accelerate rather it begins to rev the engine loudly (as if the gas pedal was being pushed while the truck is in neutral) the RPM shoots high to 6-7 (again the truck isn’t accelerating any faster just loudly revving,) then the truck jolts as if it has just been rear ended. The shifting is stuttering staying stuck in 3rd and 4th gear severing going back to 1 even at a stop. Vehicle messaging alerted 1/10/25 powertrain malfunction /reduced power . However this issues has been going on and Ford Said it was related to a 4x4 control module which was replaced and yet the issues continue. Brought it back to ford because the problem was not fixed and they are asking for payment of additional diagnostic testing and NOW saying it’s a transmission issue AFTER saying it was issue with the control module unit. Work was completed 10/2024 at Ford | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Fords 10R80 transmission has had known issues that are safety defeats and for years Ford has lied to me that there is nothing wrong with the 10R80 transmission. That they were " Characteristic of the transmission" to avoid fixing the problem under warranty. May 26 2023 Ford released a TSB acknowledging the known issues with the 10R80. (TSB 22-2428 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 10R60/10R80/10R80 MHT Automatic Transmission - Harsh/Delayed Engagement And/Or Harsh/Delayed Shift - Built On Or Before 23-Dec-2022) But as Ford is aware most vehicles are out of Factory Warranty and many lost the whole year of warranty because of the lock down of 2020 ( which Ford didn't give us credit for) so the repair was issued as a TSB then a recall to avoid paying for this repair. The repair is around $7000.00 and Ford now expects customer to pay half to all of this repair for defective and unsafe parts they failed to address when these vehicles were under factory warranty. My vehicle alone was in and out of dealership over 18 time regarding all of these transmission issues like many others. This need to be a recall not a TSB, and Ford needs to address this issues on they dime, not the consumer they lied to for years about this problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving on a residential street at 15 MPH, the transmission began to shudder and stalled. The power train warning light was illuminated. The contact proceeded to pull over onto the side of the road to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, the contact was advised that a leak in the CDF Drum was responsible for the gears not shifting properly and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 102,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 102,000 |
| Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Transmission issues. Had to do a complete replacement of transmission. Drum broke at 120,000 miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | The Transmission failed. Before the mechanical light went on. As I was driving the vehicle it was having issues switching gears. And at times would loose power and then rev up and speed up. Loss of power and speeding up is a dangerous and frightening situation in a vehicle going at any speed and even more so while traveling on a highway. I had the vehicle towed to the nearest Ford dealership. In speaking with the service manager they recommended replacing the transmission due to the error codes that were produced in the computer. They stated that this was a common issue in this make and model and a replacement would be the best option to avoid future issues. And after researching the issue online there are many people having this same issue. It’s a $10,000 fix and FORD is aware of it and yet there still is no recall on the failure in these transmissions!! Error codes P2703; P2705; P0767 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE | Purchased Dec 4, 2019; followed maintenance requirements through BO Beukcman Quality Ford. Oil changes made IAW Ford guidelines every 5000 miles. Oil change was made Nov 23, 2023 at 49,504 miles. Just before next oil change noticed engine knocking on acceleration/deceleration with intermittent check engine light on. Oil changed at 54,226 miles (Aug 22, 2024). Condition mentioned to dealer. Dealer advised engine was consuming oil. There was no visible sign of leaks. Fix -- install new dip stick, reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Rationale: Ford TSB 19-2365 Dec 5, 2019 quoted as follows: oil consumption "may be due to high intake manifold vacuum during some deceleration fuel shut off (DFSO) events resulting in oil being pulled into the combustion chamber from the crankcase, valve guides and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV)". Supposedly reprogramming would reduce engine vacuum during DFSO events (note: I noticed knocking on acceleration). At the dealership inquired why Ford did not advise customers of condition. They could not answer my question. My F-150 is a 5.0L V8 and was described by dealer as a Coyote engine. I asked if they had similar maintenance events like mine; answer - yes. I was disappointed; have owned previous F-150s and none "consumed" oil like this -- my previous truck had 150,000+ miles -- no oil burning. The dealer instructed me to bring the vehicle back every 1000 miles to check dipstick for consumption. Returned vehicle to dealer at 55,626 and 56,700 miles. On returns, consumption was noted; they topped off my oil with instruction to return again at 57,626 (current mileage 57,435 miles) This is inconvenient and poses a safety risk to me and perhaps others through engine degradation/failure especially while driving. Believe Ford owes the cunsumer a permanent engine fix. Vehicle is available for inspection NHTSA. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owned a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the transmission was skipping between the 4th, 7th, and 8th gears. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle was jerking and lurching forward significantly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure could not be replicated. The contact stated while accelerating from a complete stop and making a turn, the vehicle failed to respond as needed and rolled to a stop in the middle of the highway, nearly causing a crash. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle several times, and the contact was able to drive to the dealer at a significantly slower speed. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer, Fort Mill Ford (801 Gold Hill Rd, Fort Mill, SC 29708), where the transmission was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the vehicle experienced cam phaser failure and was sold due to the repair cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 40,000 |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | 10 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (10R80) HARSH SHIFTING FROM 3 TO 4, CAUSING SLUGISH AND UNRELIABLE ACCELERATION. SUDDEN BANG INTO 4TH GEAR ALSO SLAMS OCCUPANTS INCLUDING DRIVER OFF SEATS. AAMCO OF EL CAJON, CA CONFRIMED AND CURRENTLY REBUILDING TRANSMISSION DUE TO FAILED VALVE BODY, EXCESSIVELY WARN FRICTION RINGS, SLIPPED CDF DRUM AND WARN TEETH INSIDE DRUM. | Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | 2019 Ford 10 speed transmission has been shift hard when slowing down and then accelerating. This week while driving 65 mph the collision warning came on and truck slowed down. There was no traffic near me for any collision. Since then the transmission is not shifting correctly.i had one occasion where the transmission shifted from 8th gear to 1st gear. Very hard, or pausing and then shifting hard. Coming into highway it paused, loss power in front of of oncoming traffic. Very dangerous so I immediately took my vehicle to Ford Dealer and also call the Ford Customer relations to report issue. There is only 75,000 miles on the truck. In research I have found know issues with exact same issues on this transmission. However no recall for my vehicle. This is poor safety and poor customer satisfaction for Ford. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | 10 speed transmission started down shifting randomly, while on interstate or city driving. I had to start driving it in manual until I could get transmission replaced at dealership. This is happening to all these 10 speed transmissions from 2018- ~2023 ford and GM vehicles. This could have caused a fatality. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | Having major issues with the auto stop control, it has turned the truck off while sitting in the middle of an intersection, has stalled my truck multiple times in busy areas of on coming traffic, has shortened my battery life and my starter, and it has shown different warning icons. The power train is also acting up by hard shifting, not wanting to switch gears, skipping gears, and also making it difficult to pin point problem. My rear left brake functions are causing an issue as well, some function is making my brakes either stick or something because I get a burning odor constantly coming from my rear wheel even after changing my brakes and rotors. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Transmission shift rough, driving down the road shifts down to first gear, and sometimes does shift into 3rd-4th gear going down the and basically stops me in the middle of traffic until it finally decides to shift. I brought it to ford the first they said the transmission computer needed to be reset, so they did that and it was even worse when I left the parking lot. So I called them the next morning, and they told me to bring it back in that's when they told me my transmission needed to be replaced for $8,000 When I started doing research I found this is a common problem with this certain transmission i called ford corporation and the lady proceeded to tell me they are aware of the issue with this transmission and they are working on a remedy for the issue but they were only willing to pay for half of the cost. But if they know there is a issue(a safety issue) with this transmission then why not fix it for me. Ford 10r80 transmission | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | 2019 Ford F150 eco boost lariatTransmission 10 speed failed! About killed me twice pulling out into traffic! Harsh shifting Jerking Hesitations during acceleration Unexpected losses of power Slipped gears However it wasn’t on the recall list but doing the same thing as the ones recalled .!
