When I turn off the vehicle, a message appears on the screen that I must shift to park even though the car is in park. As of now, I can usually jiggle it into place or move the car out of park and try again, but this is a safety issue I can't ignore. This keeps happening when the car is in park and for some reason doesn't read that it is. This a tremendous issue with this vehicle that GM should be covering because it's for multiple models and a huge safety concern. Customers should not be spending any money out of pocket for this safety concern that needs to be rectified by GM. Car currently at the dealer to get issue fixed to be told that this is a huge known issue that GM refuses to issue a recall on and that they have seen many vehicles come in and they have to replace the unit at the customers cost which is not fair. When I go to turn off the car the vehicle will not turn off. Sometimes If I giggle the gear shifter violently enough the car will turn off. I have had leave my car running on multiple occasions. Woken up to dead battery's because my car WILL NOT TURN OFF. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership on 3 occasions to be looked at. The first time it was noted and I was told they couldn't look at it. The second time My vehicle needed all new transmission work ( on a 2019 model car) but was told since they couldn't recreate the shift to park message they couldn't do anything about it. The 3rd time they were able to recreate the issue but wanted me to pay $1k+ for ''fix'' the problem. But the fix was just to turn off the display message. BUT IN THE LAST WEEK IT HAS BEEN GIVING PROBLEMS TO PUT IT INTO PARK AND TURN OFF ENGINE, IT KEEPS SAYING TO "SHIFT TO PARK" AND I HAVE TO RESTART AND CHANGE GEARS TO REDO THE PARKING IT MAY BE THE GEAR BOX NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY, AND IT WILL CONTINUE TO DO THE "SHIFT TO PARK" MESSAGE UNTIL I HAVE TO KEEP REDOING THE PARKING AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL STOP. I AM SO WORRIED IT WILL COME OUT OF PARK AND ROLL DOWN THE DRIVEWAY TO STREET, AS I HAVE A SLANTED DRIVEWAY AND NO OPTION TO PARK IN STREET. However, I’m not sure if it’s safe enough to trust since it’s faulty at the insert. Also, the passenger seatbelt is faulty. When seatbelt is on, the seatbelt stays in a lock position and doesn’t loosen, it stays tight although brakes weren’t applied, to promote it to lock.
