Aug 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER I am joining the ever growing list of Chevy Traverse (2019) owners who are experiencing the "shift to park" problem. When I turn off the vehicle, a message appears on the screen that I must shift to park even though the car is in park. As of now, I can usually jiggle it into place or move the car out of park and try again, but this is a safety issue I can't ignore. The dealer tells me they know of the problem and I am scheduled to have it repaired (or so they say?) at a cost of $425 plus tax.

Jul 2023 POWER TRAIN Transmission says it’s not in park, but it is. This is an ongoing issue with GM vehicles but my vehicle is out of warranty and “doesn’t fit in the vin break” of the TSB. If this is a known issue, and it’s a safety issue, there needs to be a recall

Jul 2023 POWER TRAIN The car has continued issues with the “Shift to Park” defect that prevents drivers from shutting off and locking their vehicles. This keeps happening when the car is in park and for some reason doesn't read that it is. This a tremendous issue with this vehicle that GM should be covering because it's for multiple models and a huge safety concern. Customers should not be spending any money out of pocket for this safety concern that needs to be rectified by GM. Car currently at the dealer to get issue fixed to be told that this is a huge known issue that GM refuses to issue a recall on and that they have seen many vehicles come in and they have to replace the unit at the customers cost which is not fair. I've only had this vehicle for one year and no reason I should have had this many issues with this vehicle and such a big one that isn't covered.

Jun 2023 POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE My vehicle has been displaying a ''shift to park" message. The message appears when I put the vehicle in park. When I go to turn off the car the vehicle will not turn off. Sometimes If I giggle the gear shifter violently enough the car will turn off. I have had leave my car running on multiple occasions. Woken up to dead battery's because my car WILL NOT TURN OFF. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership on 3 occasions to be looked at. The first time it was noted and I was told they couldn't look at it. The second time My vehicle needed all new transmission work ( on a 2019 model car) but was told since they couldn't recreate the shift to park message they couldn't do anything about it. The 3rd time they were able to recreate the issue but wanted me to pay $1k+ for ''fix'' the problem. But the fix was just to turn off the display message. My vehicle will not turn off.

May 2023 POWER TRAIN Put the car in park and turn off and I get a Shift To Park message although the car is already in park. After researching, this appears to be a very common problem on these vehicles. Why is there not a recall to have this fixed? Although my car only has 28,000 miles, it is outside of the 3 year warranty. I transport children every day and it's frustrating when I can't get out of my car until I figure out how to get the message to go away. Shame on Chevrolet! Have an appointment with dealership in the morning!

Apr 2023 SEAT BELTS The backseat seatbelt is not working. When you insert the metal part of the seatbelt in the clip, it won’t clip. You have to push the button numerous times then it clicks. However, I’m not sure if it’s safe enough to trust since it’s faulty at the insert. Also, the passenger seatbelt is faulty. When seatbelt is on, the seatbelt stays in a lock position and doesn’t loosen, it stays tight although brakes weren’t applied, to promote it to lock. I can send a video ob both faulty seatbelts.

Feb 2023 SEAT BELTS This is a 8 seat SUV. The second row center seat belt is not working - will not latch. This is caused because the buckle is positioned between the 60/40 moving seats. When people are in the third row seating area and the second row seats move forward to exit it crushes the buckle. After repeated crushes it now does not operate. The second row center seat person can not keep the seat belt latched and is not restrained.
