Jul 2026 SERVICE BRAKES In September 2004, I filed a complaint on my 2019 chevrolet Silverado was making a noise from under the steering wheel (like a click noise at least twice) also the brakes were changing the movement when I pressed the brakes. One night the brakes completely went out while driving at 55 mph. I tried everything from pumping hard but the pedal went all the way to the floor with no result. I related the gas until the vehicle came to a stop. From there I placed the vehicle on park in the middle of an intersection. When the traffic light turned green I placed the vehicle on D and it moved but still with no brakes. I parked on the side of the road and called a wrecker to tow my truck home. It was could not be driven. After filling a complaint the local dealership called me and fixed it free of charge. Last week the noise on the steering wheel came back and the brakes are acting funny again. I have my two daughters ages [XXX] and [XXX] in my truck and I am requesting another inspection to my vehicle before another accident can happen. Jun 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle failed to exceed 6 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The dealer had retrieved DTC: P2074. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. While driving in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle failed to accelerate and unexpectedly shifted into park(P). The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart, and the battery was disconnected and reconnected. The vehicle was then taken back to the local dealer, and additional diagnostic tests were recommended. The contact was informed that the torque converter and transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who stated that the failure was related to Technical Service Bulletin: 23-NA-018. The manufacturer was contacted and informed that the dealer should use a flow chart. No assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Jun 2026 ENGINE 6-12-26 while driving down the highway the engine suddenly started running rough. Multiple warning lights came on and sounded like a muffled backfire. The truck has confirmed lifter failure as well as camshaft damage enough to where they're replacing an engine I still have no ETA on getting my truck back the truck only has about 72 or 73,000 miles.

Jun 2026 ENGINE While driving, my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8 suddenly lost engine power approximately a quarter mile from my home. The vehicle has only 35,000 miles. A check engine light indicated a misfire, and I confirmed cylinder 7 was misfiring. I replaced the spark plug, plug wire, and coil pack, but the misfire continued. The dealership diagnosed a failed lifter in the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system and is disassembling the engine to assess further damage. This matches the widely documented AFM lifter failure pattern in GM 5.3L V8 engines. The sudden loss of motive power while driving created a safety hazard. All maintenance was performed at GM dealerships.

Jun 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER While flat towing my pickup truck behind my motorhome, on interstate 94 eastbound, in Minnesota I noticed smoke on my screen in the motorhome back facing camera. I safety pulled over to a truck rest area in Avon Minnesota. I went to investigate and realized that the pickup truck had flames coming from underneath the hood. Because of the fire and heat I wasn’t able to release the pickup truck from the motorhome which ultimately caused the Motorhome to catch fire as well. Police and fire department were called and both the Motorhome and pickup truck were totaled. My insurance company has possession of both vehicles. I previously had electrical problems with the pickup truck and took it to the Chevy dealership to address the issue. Evidence of module overheating with traces of burn were found on one occasion. I’m uploading photos of the police report and work orders from the dealership. No one was injured but all of our belongings were destroyed or damaged from the fire. We were left with nothing but what we had on at the time.

Jun 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,BACK OVER PREVENTION When backing the sensors fail to notify the driver/operator of forcibly engaging impending objects such as a small child or object by an audible noise alert that increases in loudness as the vehicle gets closer to the child/ person or object. I purchased the Pickup truck in 2020 with 17,000 miles and currently have 28,000 miles. the audible alarm cease to function well over a year ago, as I just became aware of your reporting site. Such safety items as cameras and alarms are not vehicle options. There sole purpose is to save lives!!

Jun 2026 ENGINE Purchased 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Country Edition with the 6.2L engine and 143K miles for my son. The vehicle had a clean service history on Car Fax. On the day we purchased the vehicle, we drove it home and noticed it was shuttering at times. I used my computer scanner and it came back with a misfire cylinder #5. I troubleshot the issues and noted that the most common thing was a spark plug. Therefore, I replaced the spark plug and it drove much better. Two weeks later, my son was driving vehicle on I-40 near Nashville TN and without warning, vehicle stalled, locking steering wheel in place! Check engine lights came on and instructed him to place in neutral and restart, which he promptly did. The vehicle started, but went in limp mode making loud noises in engine before shutting off again. Luckily, traffic was minimal at 8 pm and he was able to get it over to the shoulder and avoid any injuries or accident. Towed it to Nick Mayer Chevrolet in Dickson, TN where they diagnosed it with catastrophic engine failure and needed to be completely replaced. This is the same issue that GM is being sued for and have somehow managed to take the stance that the lifter/cam/DFM issue only existed in 2020-newer models. The 2019 is when they changed to the newer body style and the new Gen V L87 engine in the 6.2. Despite the clean vehicle history, dealership reached out to GM and they stated they would not help cover any repairs but would gladly take 14K to fix it. The 2019-2026 models all need to be recalled due to this safety issue and fixed before catastrophic engine failure claims another victim financially or worse!

Jun 2026 ENGINE At 60k miles we had a lifter failure that caused an engine replacement. We were traveling home on I-10 about an hour from the Texas Border. My wife was driving about 70-75mph. We had to loud pops and the truck started shaking badly. The pickup was purchased in May 2021 with 26,450 miles. It has been well maintained, so the lifter failure was a complete surprise. We booked a room at a local hotel (3 nights total). The towing company took it to the local Chevrolet Dealership. The dealership couldn't even look at it for over a week. My brother in-law drove 6 hours from our home with a trailer and we hauled it home. We scheduled an appointment with our purchasing dealership and dropped it off. It took a week to get the diagnoses. It was a lifter failure. Our warranty company authorized an engine replacement, but the dealership wanted to just do a cam shaft and lifter. We were without our truck for over a month. It then cost us $300 plus for componets not covered.

Jun 2026 ENGINE The engine in my truck failed while driving down the interstate highway (I-10) on May 28, 2026. At the time of failure, a loud popping noise emitted from the engine. Power and speed were reduced as the result of the failure. The Check Engine Light and Service Engine lights illuminated as quickly as the failure occurred. As many vehicles were simultaneously traveling along the highway at speed, my vehicle suddenly slowing down without indication (brake lights) could have inadvertently caused an accident. As a result, I continued driving the vehicle under reduced power to my home which was only approximately 2 miles away. During the 2-mile drive to my home, the loud popping noise intermitted but reduced power was consistent. Diagnostic checks revealed a code P0305 indicating that cylinder #5 was misfiring. Checking the components of that cylinder revealed the intake valve of cylinder #5 was not actuating when the engine was running indicating a failed lifter & camshaft.

Jun 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE 2019 Silverado experienced sudden engine failure while driving, creating a safety hazard. Had taken vehicle to Serpentine in Tallmadge Ohio for brake repair as well as a ticking sound a couple of times within the past 2 years. Each time the complaint regarding the noise it made was not addressed or documented as they said it was the brakes. While driving the truck, it started clanking and banging, smoking and spewed oil all over engine and ground. The truck is completely inoperable.

May 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER I have a severe safety concern regarding the auto shut off for this Chevy Silverado pick up. Several times I have almost gotten into an accident because while slowing briefly to stop before making a left, turn across traffic, the engine shuts off. When you press the gas, the engine starts back up, but the delay causes a safety concern with oncoming traffic. This feature should have a longer delay or be selectable to turn on. Not require someone to disable it. Every time is driven.

May 2026 SERVICE BRAKES While driving my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the brakes unexpectedly locked up and multiple warning messages appeared at the same time, including “Service ESC.” There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms before the incident. The problem occurred without warning while the vehicle was being driven normally. The sudden brake application made the vehicle difficult to control and created a significant safety risk because it could have caused a loss of control or a collision with other vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection. At the time of this report, the exact cause of the failure is unknown.

May 2026 ENGINE was driving along at 65mph when i heard a pop and then truck shut off said loss of oil pressure along with a few other warnings. managed to cost to the side of a hwy that has no shoulder msg came up saying put in neutral to start did so the motor cranked but would not turn over like it had lost all compression. got towed to a local repair shop spun a main bearing which in turn broke the timing chain that then took out the oil pump. had no prior issues have kept up and regular maintenance well before the recommended time intervals. the hwy i was on is very busy two lane road with no shoulders and very limited passing opportunities could have very easily been hit. this has left me with a need for a total engine replacement that are quite expensive on a vehicle that was bought because it was not part of the gm recall as it is outside the listed as effected yrs.

May 2026 POWER TRAIN I've had a unknown problem with my transmission since I've owned my truck, Took it back to two different GM dealership and one said it was low on transmission fluid after keeping it for about two weeks, So I took it to another dealership out of state and was told there wasn't anything wrong with it. I am absolutely sure that something is wrong with the transmission and they don't want to fix it even though the truck is under warranty. I have seen so many complaints about the transmission and the Chevy Silverado of my year 2019 and above it has to be something going on with the transmission in these trucks that nobody wants to admit.

May 2026 ENGINE While driving home from my way to work, an esc sensor alert went off on the dashboard display. My truck was sent into limp mode, could not accelerate anymore and as soon as I pulled off onto the side of the road the truck died. I was never able to start the truck again. Determined it was an engine lock up when I tried to turn the crankshaft by hand.

May 2026 ENGINE own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with approximately 76,896 miles. The vehicle experienced sudden coolant loss and overheating while driving and became disabled to the point it would not restart. The vehicle required towing to a repair facility. The symptoms appear substantially similar to known GM cooling system/oil cooler line issues addressed in other Silverado programs and complaints, however my VIN is excluded from coverage. I am requesting review for goodwill assistance and escalation due to the nature of the failure, the maintenance history of the vehicle, and the safety concern created by sudden overheating and loss of power
