| May 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I have a severe safety concern regarding the auto shut off for this Chevy Silverado pick up. Several times I have almost gotten into an accident because while slowing briefly to stop before making a left, turn across traffic, the engine shuts off. When you press the gas, the engine starts back up, but the delay causes a safety concern with oncoming traffic. This feature should have a longer delay or be selectable to turn on. Not require someone to disable it. Every time is driven. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | While driving my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the brakes unexpectedly locked up and multiple warning messages appeared at the same time, including “Service ESC.” There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms before the incident. The problem occurred without warning while the vehicle was being driven normally. The sudden brake application made the vehicle difficult to control and created a significant safety risk because it could have caused a loss of control or a collision with other vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection. At the time of this report, the exact cause of the failure is unknown. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Esc system Poor braking. Engine idling rough. Almost hit another car | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | While driving on highway with cruise control set at 65 mph, the engine started misfiring, lost power and multiple warning lights came on. This was the first and only time I had engine problems and I never had any warning lights come on prior to this incident. Dealer confirmed engine experienced complete failure and need to be replaced. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | was driving along at 65mph when i heard a pop and then truck shut off said loss of oil pressure along with a few other warnings. managed to cost to the side of a hwy that has no shoulder msg came up saying put in neutral to start did so the motor cranked but would not turn over like it had lost all compression. got towed to a local repair shop spun a main bearing which in turn broke the timing chain that then took out the oil pump. had no prior issues have kept up and regular maintenance well before the recommended time intervals. the hwy i was on is very busy two lane road with no shoulders and very limited passing opportunities could have very easily been hit. this has left me with a need for a total engine replacement that are quite expensive on a vehicle that was bought because it was not part of the gm recall as it is outside the listed as effected yrs. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | The engine died while in use. We were130 miles from home when the engine started making weird noises and a tapping sound.all the lights on the dash lit up and truck would hardly run.l had a independent car hauler haul the vehicle back home to a local garage. The vehicle has been repaired for $10,919 and paid $800.00 to have it transported. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | Engine oil cooler line leaking from crimp. Same issue CSP N212326940 GM distributed but my truck was not covered for some reason. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | While driving home from my way to work, an esc sensor alert went off on the dashboard display. My truck was sent into limp mode, could not accelerate anymore and as soon as I pulled off onto the side of the road the truck died. I was never able to start the truck again. Determined it was an engine lock up when I tried to turn the crankshaft by hand. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN | I've had a unknown problem with my transmission since I've owned my truck, Took it back to two different GM dealership and one said it was low on transmission fluid after keeping it for about two weeks, So I took it to another dealership out of state and was told there wasn't anything wrong with it. I am absolutely sure that something is wrong with the transmission and they don't want to fix it even though the truck is under warranty. I have seen so many complaints about the transmission and the Chevy Silverado of my year 2019 and above it has to be something going on with the transmission in these trucks that nobody wants to admit. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| May 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM, I experienced a sudden and complete engine failure while driving my 2019 Chevy Silverado equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. Without warning, the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate, creating an immediate and dangerous situation for myself, my family, and surrounding drivers. I was forced to rely on the vehicle’s remaining momentum to maneuver to the side of the road, all while other drivers honked as I attempted to merge with no engine power. This incident caused significant stress and posed a serious safety risk. My vehicle had to be towed home and then to [XXX] Casa Chevrolet at [XXX] . After inspection, the dealership informed me that the engine requires a full rebuild, despite the vehicle having only 115,697 miles. According to the dealership, the engine shows **no compression on all cylinders**, **crankshaft and camshaft compression failure**, **pistons coated in oil and fuel with visible damage**, and a **non‑functioning timing chain likely due to a broken guide**. These findings mirror the exact symptoms currently under investigation in GM’s **EA25007** inquiry involving the 6.2L V8 (L87) engines in 2021–2025 GM trucks and SUVs GM has already issued a major recall affecting nearly **600,000 vehicles** due to defective connecting rods and crankshafts that can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, and potential fire hazards. Although my 2019 Silverado is not included in the recall, it is experiencing the same catastrophic engine failure associated with the defective components identified in the investigation. The dealership has quoted me $10,000 for an engine rebuild and has refused to assist with the cost. I have also filed a complaint directly with GM, as this failure presents the same safety risks and mechanical defects acknowledged in the recalled models. This sudden engine failure placed my family and other motorists in immediate danger, and the lack of w INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with approximately 76,896 miles. The vehicle experienced sudden coolant loss and overheating while driving and became disabled to the point it would not restart. The vehicle required towing to a repair facility. The symptoms appear substantially similar to known GM cooling system/oil cooler line issues addressed in other Silverado programs and complaints, however my VIN is excluded from coverage. I am requesting review for goodwill assistance and escalation due to the nature of the failure, the maintenance history of the vehicle, and the safety concern created by sudden overheating and loss of power | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that with a load in the trunk, the tailgate suddenly opened. The items fell on the roadway. The tailgate was difficult to open. The contact had to secure the tailgate with a strap. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact indicated that the failure was related to Technical Service Bulletin TSB 23-NA-112. The local dealer was called, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who confirmed there was no recall coverage. The manufacturer referred him to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 30,000 |
| May 2026 | ENGINE | This truck has a recall on it but by specific VIN numbers mine doesn’t fall into the VIN number but had the same catastrophic oil cooler line failure, which is in the recall which caused the engine tool expire with 40,000 miles on it. Truck is like brand new General Motors will not honor the warranty even though it’s the failure that’s in the warranty makes no sense. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was able to be restarted immediately, but the failure persisted twice, causing the contact to wait for the vehicle to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA25007 (Engine, Engine, And Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,500. | Crash: No Fire: No | 72,500 |
| May 2026 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,WHEELS | in beginning of January of 2026 my vehicle had lifter issues. Brought it to Chevrolet Group 1 in Spring Texas. Three weeks without transportation. Beginning of February the vehicle stopped in the middle of the feeder. Vehicle lights up but goes dark for five seconds and will not start. Had it towed back to the same dealership and told it was the battery cable that needs to be replaced. Three weeks passed no transportation. In the middle of April 16 2026 I was driving on the feeder in the far right lane and the front right wheel came off hanging by only the tie rod. the vehicle slid a good 700 to 900 almost crashing into a muffler shop gate. Upon inspection the muffler shop mechanic notice that the front right upper control arm bolt threads are not damaged and the nut is missing. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | I have a 2019 Chevrolet High Country, have always kept it serviced and maintained. Driving down the road it randomly lost power, wouldn't let me (driver) give gas, started shaking and making loud clanking noise from the engine. Was able to pull over to the side of the road, recorded the noise it was making. Called a tow company to get it towed to the nearest Chevrolet Dealer ship and they confirmed that the engine was no longer good. Related problem to the 6.2l motor issues. They are requested for a New motor. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | POWER TRAIN | I own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with the 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle has developed serious transmission problems that create a safety concern. When the transmission is cold, the vehicle slips between 1st and 2nd gear during acceleration. If I accelerate normally, the transmission slips and then engages with a hard bang. I must accelerate very slowly to avoid harsh engagement. In addition, during deceleration, especially when downshifting into 3rd gear, the transmission makes a hard "thump" or "bang". This unexpected shifting behavior creates a safety risk when entering traffic, making turns, or driving in stop-and-go traffic. The vehicle has been properly maintained, including transmission fluid service at a Chevrolet dealership, but the problem continues and appears to be getting worse. I understand many GM 8-speed transmission owners have reported similar issues. The repair cost quoted by the dealership is between $7,000 and $10,000, which suggests a possible design or manufacturing defect. I am filing this complaint for investigation of a potential safety-related transmission defect. | May 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Suddenly my vehicle would not allow me to shift into different gears and was stuck in drive gear. The shift selector does not allow me to change gears even though it has the same resistance on the shift selector lever. In order to allow the vehicle to shift gears, I had to go under the vehicle to manually switch gears by pulling the transmission selector located under the vehicle. Each time I drive my truck I have to go under my vehicle and manually pull the transmission selector to change gears out of drive. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering wheel failed to steer in the intended direction. The service power steering warning light illuminated. The contact stated that, fortunately, the failure occurred while the contact was driving in the contact's residential driveway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed electrical ground strap. The contact was informed that the electrical ground strap needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact referenced a Customer Satisfaction Program N25251590, however the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under the program. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 60,000 |

| Apr 2026 | STRUCTURE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I purchased the truck in 2021 from a chevy dealer with 32k miles on it, truck looked great and performed great, at 42k miles it started to be sluggish and it would vibrate between 30-40 and 60-70 as i feathered the gas pedal to maintain speed, but if i gave it more gas or take my foot off the pedal it would stop vibrating, I've taken it to 2 chevy dealers, the first one said it drives within GM spec's. the 2nd one looked more promising but my warranty ran out at 75k and i was at that mileage. So today at 93k on it, it still vibrates and sluggish from a start. I looked online and many people have similar problems. ALSO: The paint around my front wheels is peeling off down to the primer, I've had many vehicles and never had this happen to me, It's just flaking off, When i had the truck at the chevy dealer for maintenance and told him about it, He said GM will not fix it and they know about the issue. Now these trucks are not cheap, It seems like once they sell the vehicle GM washes their hands of it, I guess that's why they only give you 36,000 mile warranty because they don't even trust their product to last. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
