May 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM My vehicle is having symptoms described in the recall (Safety Recall: 2018–23 Odyssey Fuel Pump Motor - RCRIT-23V858-259). Although my VIN number does not show eligible for this Recall but I am having symptoms mentioned on this recall: 1. Difficulty starting Car and its intermittent. 2. Car Stalled at the Red light, traffic stops few time putting at the risk of being rear ended. 3. Engine hesitate when driving and feel jerky moves or unable to pick speed as it should normally. 4. Check Engine light shows up with all other functions disabled. 5. Local Honda Dealer code scanner tool to check error code and they reported DTC P0087. When I searched this symptoms I came across this Recall with same symptoms but My Vehicle does not qualify based on VIN # search. I need to issue resolved as it puts my family at the risk of being in an Accident while driving on roads for day to day activity.

May 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE My tailgate stopped working, I was getting messages on my dash board that there was transmission system problems, reverse warning problems, keyless entry system problems. It always seemed to happen after a rain. I found that the van is leaking water through the driver’s side roof rack gully, near the back, and water is leaking right on the tailgate control system, causing all these other problems. It is also causing the battery to drain when car is parked idle. There should be recall to fix the leakage and replace the controller. It's a design defect, water shouldn't sip inside and burn the electrical components. Costing me hundreds/thousands. This is also safety issue because water damaged controllers causing issues with ADAS components too - getting check engine, break lights, etc. while the car is in motion. If those safety features are not working, that can be very dangerous. Thanks

May 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I recently began hearing a strange noise when starting the engine of my 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite. While driving, I also noticed reduced acceleration and a change in engine sound when pressing the accelerator, indicating a performance issue. I took the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership, where they diagnosed the problem as a malfunctioning fuel pump and recommended a full replacement. I am aware that Honda has issued fuel pump recalls affecting a number of vehicles, including some 2018 Odyssey models. However, when I checked my VIN, it showed no active recalls. Despite experiencing the exact symptoms associated with the recalled fuel pumps, I am being asked to cover the full cost of replacement—approximately $1,700—including parts and labor. I believe this may be the same defect covered under the broader fuel pump recall and request that Honda reevaluate whether my vehicle should be included. I am requesting either coverage of the repair under warranty or a goodwill repair to address what appears to be a known issue.

May 2025 AIR BAGS While driving my 2018 Honda Odyssey at approximately 35-40 mph on a regular city road, the passenger-side front airbag deployed suddenly and without any impact or external trigger. The road was clear, traffic was light, and no collision occurred before, during, or after the event. The airbag deployment was abrupt and loud, startling me and posing a serious safety risk to both myself and my passenger. Immediately after pulling over, I conducted a visual inspection of the vehicle. There was no damage to the front bumper, fender, windshield, or undercarriage, and no sign of impact or obstruction. The dashboard did not display any warning lights prior to or immediately after the event. I took the vehicle to an authorized service center, where they confirmed that no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) were stored and no mechanical fault could be identified. Despite my efforts to escalate the issue, Honda has declined to offer any support or written findings, stating they cannot assist if there is no identifiable cause. My insurance provider, State Farm, denied the claim as well, citing the absence of a collision. As of now, I am left with an unsafe vehicle, unexpected repair costs, and no accountability from the manufacturer or insurer. This incident could have resulted in serious injury if my passenger had been present, and I am extremely concerned about the safety implications for other Honda Odyssey owners. I am submitting this report in hopes that NHTSA investigates this potential safety defect. I’m willing to provide full documentation, photographs, and service records upon request.

May 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE ADAS System Failure. An audible alert would sound and the following problems would scroll across Dash Display: Auto High-Beam Problem; Adaptive Cruise Control Problem; Lane Keeping Assist Problem; Collision Mitigation System Problem; Road Departure Mitigation System Problem. Also, "BRAKE SYSTEM' illuminated in red near bottom of display. Diagnostic at Honda Dealer indicated, "U3000-49 Multipurpose Camera Unit Internal electronic Failure". To repair, the quote for the unit itself was $1201.34 plus tax. Calibration was an additional $660.00. I found the unit online at a better price and so purchased it and had the Dealer install. My total cost for the Unit and installation/calibration was $1.496.74. Even though it is a 2018 model I would have expected this camera unit to last much longer. It's an expensive part! My hope would be for Honda to issue an extended warranty and I'd be eligible for compensation on this repair. If needed I can provide paperwork. Please advise. Thank You.

May 2025 POWER TRAIN 9 speed transmission issue: Ever since I purchased this vehicle around 50,000 miles in February of 2021 (mileage currently at 118,048), I noticed a very obvious delay in acceleration from a complete stop. Changing to eco drive mode and sport mode changes slightly, but still has delay. Transmission fluid has been changed 3 times since owning this vehicle and everytime it has, there was no noticeable changes in symptoms. Delayed acceleration occurs more consistently at normal operating temperatures. Brought vehicle to honda dealership after purchasing. They performed a TCM software update. Problem still occurs to this day. Multiple occasions occured where me and my girlfriend are driving and attempting to make a safe left turn only to proceed, but in process of attempt, the vehicle delays while facing oncoming traffic.

May 2025 STRUCTURE Safety Recall #18-128, Power sliding door rear latches was performed on or around September of 2020 on my vehicle. Last week (04/30/2025), my passenger side sliding door would not open. After removing passemger side inner door panel to inspect, found rear latch cable frayed closest to a microswitch found (as of 05/04/2025, it is currently held together by 2 strands of the cable). I also verified the operation between the front and rear latch of the passenger sliding door with the door panel off, and noticed it intermittently touches the microswitch when closing the door, further confirming the issue. My concern is the rear latch cable being frayed. The latches operate normal and as intended, the problem is I cannot purchase the cables separately, only as a complete unit with the latch.

May 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM 1/16/25 Van brought to Honda of Kenosha to complete fuel pump recall. Advised work was complete. 3/30/25 While driving, my van completely turned off. Creating an unsafe situation as I wasn’t parked but with engine running & van in drive. Van was towed to repair shop 3/3/25. When they opened on 3/31/25, I contacted them to explain what happened. Mechanic said it sounded like a fuel issue. I explained van had new pump 1/2025 per recall. Van started for the mechanic, but it wasn’t a smooth start. He drove it on & off over the next 48 business hours. It didn’t stop. I picked it up on 4/2/25 & began to drive home. Again, while driving it completely turned off. Creating an unsafe situation as I wasn’t parked but with engine running & van in drive. 4/3/25 My van was returned to the repair shop. They ran diagnostics & replaced high pressure fuel pump. But the van was still not running correctly. Despite the fuel pump recently being replaced, the mechanic tested it anyway. He learned the fuel pump was not replaced as I was advised & as it was documented.

Apr 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Each time gas tank is filled completely, there is a strong fuel smell that lasts for a couple days. recently vehicle was parked facing down an incline after a recent fill and gasoline smell became very strong and an oily (shiny rainbow) slick noted leaking from under where the vehicle was parked. I believe this indicates that there is damage to the fuel tank near the top of the tank. I have started filling the tank 2/3 only and do not have the gas smell with that. Have had the vehicle for about 10 months and noticed the smell the first time I filled with gas, but did not suspect it was caused by a leak until recently. There is an "emissions system" error on dash. No issues with vehicle performance / operation.

Apr 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE The tailgate module has been fixed three times by Honda, along with the tailgate being resealed by honda, however, the car continues to leak water through a seal in the drivers side upper rarea. The electrical components and fuse boxes have been full of water causing the vehicle to turn on automatically, have every light illuminated, tailgate open on its own, tailgate won’t close, no turn signals, no power to infotainment center, infotainment permanently displaying back up camera while in drive mode. The tailgate has been resealed by Honda (balise Honda of West Warwick) in March of 2024 and vehicle will be back there this week due to same issue. Battery needed replaced due to all the electronics misfiring and automatically turning on- car has left my family, my children stranded multiple times due to electrical issues misfiring and depleting battery.

Apr 2025 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Upon startup of the vehicle the following Warnings flash on the dash: "Auto High-Beam Problem, ACC Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, LKAS Lane keeping Assist Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem." This problem is easily reproduced and occurs almost every time I start my vehicle. I had my battery tested and it was reported to be GOOD. The vehicle still drives correctly, but none of the safety features listed above work. If these features are going to be mandated on newer vehicles they should be reliable and function correctly. I will never buy another Honda vehicle!

Apr 2025 ENGINE Honda has issued a recall for the 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey vehicles and certain Acura, Pilot, and Ridgeline vehicles due to a manufacturing error on the connecting rod bearing in the engine, which can damage the engine. Might also be in service bulletin 24-003. This recall, identified as #23V751000, was announced on November 12, 2023. MY VIN is not currently covered by this recall yet I am experiencing the exact same symptoms. I have 6 children that a transport in the vehicle daily and we are moving from Minnesota to Georgia soon. I cannot afford to pay for the repairs of this manufacturer defect out of pocket. Local Honda dealership estimates over $10,000 for this repair! I am now going to an automotive service center to see if they have a more affordable solution. It isn't looking good. I am still driving this vehicle, but the knocking coming from the engine compartment is getting louder and louder and I fear the engine could seize while driving on the road with my children in the vehicle. I also reported this to Honda Corporate on March 28, 2025.

Apr 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The car has stalling problems and low power problem (changed 3 batteries in 5 years), took to dealership first time and they could not confirmed what's wrong. The problem became worse and stalled a few times, took to local shop and code p2638 torque management feedback signal came back, indicating problem with transmission or TCU. Then, it was noted that there's a NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:19V-299, specifically "Low voltage situations resulting from loose battery terminal connection(s) or a degraded battery could cause the Transmission Control Unit to reboot and shift the transmission to Park". The recall was on 2018-19 Honda Odyssey, however, my car's VIN is not included, therefore it is not covered. Contacted Honda corporate, they are saying since VIN is not part of the recall, it is not covered. The year, the model and the problem are exactly matches what's in the recall but Honda refuse to cover it or giving good will discount.
