Jul 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE ADAS front facing camera died at 104,716 miles. No prior warning. All ADAS systems are down. Five emergency warnings on starting up the car. Normal driving is OK, but safety systems are no longer working. Reported repair cost from Honda dealership is $2000+. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE The multipurpose camera has failed. I went online saw tons of people with same issues happening right after the warranty period. Even with extended warranty they dont want to help . Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 POWER TRAIN My Honda Odyssey has always had continuous issues when sometimes driving the car at low speeds it randomly jerks, which can become an issue when driving. I believe this is related to the manufacturers reference to service bulletins #19-014 and 20-016 stating a software upgrade is required. However my local dealer is stating this software can only be carried out if it is diagnosed first and a fee will be charged and only if jerkiness is found then another fee will be charged for the software install. As this is a known issue - should this install of software be a recall item. As this to me is a safety hazard, when the car jerks unexpectedly and should not have a cost involved for diagnostic and then additional for the software update. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The front camera is intermittent and sometimes it works but other times I get 5 error messages when I start my car: adaptive cruise control problem, lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high-beam problem. In reviewing online, it seems like this is a very common problem with all of these models. Since the repair rate is over $1000 you’re going to have a lot of vehicles on the road without the safety features working. Since it’s intermittent, there’s something with the connection between the camera and the computer. If the camera were broken, it wouldn’t work at all. Any people say they can bang on the camera but that doesn’t seem like a safe fix. I believe this needs to be investigated. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE Safety features disabled after battery change. Warning lights not cleared after driving the car as they should. Front mounted safety camera does not function properly and this is critical for safety. Jul 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while a customer on Turo was driving the vehicle, the instrument panel warning lights flashed and the climate control system failed to function. The vehicle was restarted multiple times, but the instrument panel warning lights remained illuminated. The contact stated that while being driven, the vehicle was pulled over by law enforcement because the taillights failed completely. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the gauge control module had failed due to corrosion from water damage. Upon further inspection during the replacement, the dealer discovered additional failures within the body control module and the taillight wiring harness. Technicians determined that the electrical failures were caused by water leaking from the rear windshield into the tailgate area. The vehicle was repaired; however, the water leak source was not addressed or sealed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 144,411. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Back in the fall/winner of 2024 (could have been 2025) my Honda Odyssey had a recall for a low pressure fuel pump. However, Honda and many other dealers were dealing with hundreds of thousands of recalls, and we’re only recalling the vehicles with actual symptoms. My vehicle was hesitating and experiencing sudden loss of power during acceleration therefore Honda agreed to repair my vehicle. Everything seemed to work fine after that with no issues, but approximately three months later, I was having issues with my vehicle and brought it into my Mechanic, to find out that my high-pressure fuel pump was not working properly. Upon further investigation, I found out that a bad low-pressure fuel pump starves the high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) of required volume. This causes the HPFP to work far beyond its design limits to build pressure, leading to cavitation (vapor bubbles damaging internal components), overheating, and premature mechanical wear from metal-on-metal friction. When I dug a little deeper, I found out that many Honda owners were dealing with failing high-pressure fuel pumps after having their low pressure fuel pump recall repairs completed. Many in which were in a similar timeframe to mine. Honda offered me no good merit assistance and stated that unfortunately, I would be liable for the entire cost of the repair. It is more than obvious that the failing of my low pressure fuel pump impacted the performance and workload of my high-pressure fuel pump, causing it to fail, which I believe Honda should be liable for replacing. Please look further into this matter to help others like me that had their low pressure fuel pump recall performed, and shortly after needed to replace their high-pressure fuel pump at their own costly expense.

Jul 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The power tailgate control module failed. There was water intrusion and the module was corroded. I replaced the module and the power tailgate worked properly. About a month later we had some heavy rain and the problem came back. The dash displayed “power tailgate problem” and the tailgate would intermittently unlock on its own. I inspected the one month old power tailgate control module and noticed water and corrosion in the enclosure. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jul 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The Infotainment System in my 2018 Honda Odyssey is malfunctioning, just as is reported by many other Honda vehicle owners. I am experiencing the same issues as others where the speakers are crackling, the audio fails, the screen turns off intermittently while the vehicle is operating leading to the reverse/back-up camera to fail. When the screen is operational it glitches at times (I have videos of the occurrences mentioned). I am aware that a recall was issued in June of 2023 (NHTSA Recall 23V-431) but when I brought my vehicle to Honda Cars of McKinney (Dallas, TX), they said that my 2018 Honda Odyssey did not have a recall of the Infotainment System and charged me a diagnostic fee but returned my vehicle without resolving the issue. Jul 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I own a 2018 Honda Odyssey EX-L (VIN [XXX]). The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power and entered limp mode, with multiple safety and driver-assistance systems shutting down at once (adaptive cruise, braking assist, lane/road departure mitigation, EPS, etc.). A Honda dealer (Allen Honda, College Station, TX) retrieved DTC P0369 and documented that the front camshaft is worn and has thrust forward, contacting the camshaft position (CMP/TDC) sensor and damaging the thrust plate. The dealer is recommending an internal engine repair costing several thousand dollars. I am very concerned because Honda has already acknowledged serious engine defects in this same J35 V6 family under Recall 23V751 (connecting rod bearing wear leading to engine damage and stall) for 2018–2019 Odyssey, yet my dealer states my VIN is “not part of the recall” and that this is a “separate issue.” In practice, I am seeing a major internal engine failure that causes sudden derate and disables multiple safety systems, but I am being told there is no recall coverage or assistance simply because my individual VIN falls outside Honda’s current recall production range. I am requesting that NHTSA review this incident as a potential recall exclusion problem: owners with the same engine family and serious internal failures are being denied recall coverage on a technical VIN cutoff, even though the safety consequence—loss of power and shutdown of critical safety systems while driving—is similar to the failures already recognized under Recall 23V751 and the ongoing engine defect investigation. I believe this situation may warrant expansion of existing recall coverage or a new recall campaign for currently excluded VINs like mine, and reimbursement for owners who have already paid for these repairs. Jul 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE There are multiple systems that have failed in the vehicle: — Lane Keeping Assist Problem — Collision Mitigation System Problem — Auto High Beam Problem — Adaptive Cruise Control System — Road Departure Mitigation System Problem Here’s the issue, I’ve seen multiple people with this issue saying it’s related to the camera system. I’ve reported it multiple times and to the dealer and have not received a straight answer. This needs to be investigated. How many complaints do you need to receive about safety issues in a make/model to do something about it/

Jun 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE The forward facing camera that controls the ADAS system has failed leaving all of the ADAS system disabled while we drive. This all came after a certified windshield replacement by Safelite where they reinstalled it and calibrated it (according to them) but failed after their short warranty period. Unfortunately simply replacing the part is not an option as it requires calibration and special tools to get the vehicle to accept it, all while being charged by Honda an arm & leg to get.

Jun 2026 SEAT BELTS On 4/30/26 my 10 year old son was sitting in the middle row behind the driver buckled in his seatbelt. The middle row, middle seatbelt (that comes down from ceiling) got wrapped around his neck and kept tightening. He yelled for help. I was driving and saw in my rearview mirror that my son was being pulled up by his neck from the seatbelt in the ceiling. I pulled into a shopping center immediately to try to help him. I could not reach down in between the seats to unhook it because the more I tried to release him, the more it would tighten. That seatbelt requires a tool to be pressed into the lock to release it and the more I tried to get to the seatbelt to unfasten it the more it was tightening and pulling my son up (he was literally starting to hang from the ceiling). I unhooked his seatbelt so he could push himself up to try to release some of the tension around his neck. I wound up running into a Michaels store screaming that I needed scissors because my son was hanging from a seatbelt. She gave me scissors and I went back out and cut the seatbelt to release my son from the seatbelt noose around his neck. He had red marks around his neck afterwards. I still have the cut seatbelt and the other half retracted into the ceiling. Research has confirmed that there have been other reports of issues with children having to be cut out of seatbelts due to the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR) in Honda Odysseys, model years 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and my model 2018. I called Honda corporate on 6/8/26 and filed a complaint. I was told I would receive an email response. I have not received an email or any response. So I called Honda corporate again on 6/25/26 and was told someone would reach out to me, but they could not tell me anything over the phone at that time. I made an appointment at my Honda dealership to have the seatbelt replaced, but have been waiting on a response from Honda corporate before doing any repairs.

Jun 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE All warning lights began flashing after a SRS recall fix at Honda of Joliet, Illinois. Dealer wanted to do a in depth vehicle scan for $279. I brought it to an independent care repair shop where they did the scan for $199. They found engine damage per attached report. My vehicle’s VIN was not included in the initial recall for the same problem for the same vehicle, year, and engine type. Contacted Honda Customer service a more or less ‘good luck’ response.

Jun 2026 STEERING,POWER TRAIN I purchased a 2018 Honda Odyssey and reported during my 7-day inspection window that the transmission was acting sluggish. The Carvana-authorized inspection service (Pep Boys) claimed the transmission was fine. Over time it showed more and more signs of failure until it completely failed. On the directive of the seller (Carvana) and warranty administrator (SilverRock), the vehicle was taken to an authorized Pep Boys facility for a complete transmission replacement. Less than two days after picking up the vehicle, the replacement transmission suffered a complete failure on a public roadway. The vehicle suddenly lost all acceleration and forced itself into 'limp mode' on a highway, and loss of steering control, nearly causing a severe collision. The vehicle is inherently unsafe, and the authorized repair network has failed to provide a merchantable or safe repair, creating an immediate life-threatening hazard.

Jun 2026 AIR BAGS The contact owns a 2018 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 MPH over a pothole in the roadway, the passenger’s side air bags deployed unintendedly. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V227000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer informed the contact that the failure reoccurred because the vehicle was not taken in for the reprogramming stated in the recall remedy. The manufacturer informed the contact that the air bag replacement was not covered under the recall. The contact had not received the recall notification before the failure. The manufacturer opened a case. The failure mileage was 120,657. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jun 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER For a couple of weeks we have been having issues with our 2018 Honda Odyssey's back right door. When you go to open it, something happens where it makes it shut after fully opening. Our resolution for the time was to just push on the door harder and it would continue to slide open. Today, on XXX I was going to put my [XXX] son in his carseat, which is located mid van right side. He snuck infront of me and was standing in the path of the sliding door, it did what it normally does, the same door did not detect his body and began shutting on him. As it was squeezing his shoulders I was pushing back on the sliding door with all my strength, and after a few seconds it opened back up. I'm not sure whether the sensor failed, or it can't detect past a certain height, but either way it was a very scary situation. This had just happened an hour ago, so I haven't reported it to any authorities or anything. I came home and googled how to make a manufacturer report and it lead me here. If I had not been standing behind my son, I believe the door would have continued shutting more, enough to sustain serious injuries if not more. My son physically was okay, aside from a red mark on his upper arm where the door was shutting on him, he did need at least 5 minutes of consoling after, which only happens when something truly hurt him.
