| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | Driving felt weird like the vehicle was stuttering and I heard liquid sloshing around as I was driving. Check engine light came on and turned off again on its own on 2 separate occasions within 2 weeks. The first time it came on, I made an appointment at the service center but the check engine light had gone off by the time I brought it in. I was told they couldn't diagnose it if the check engine light was off. When it came on again, I took it to my local Ford service center and they diagnosed it with coolant leaking into the cylinder, causing a misfire. The recommended solution is a full engine replacement costing over $8,000. Apparently this is a known issue and a service bulletin was issued in 2022 (before I bought the car used) but Ford is refusing to issue a recall. The car only has 65k miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE | Our 2018 Ford Edge started idling rough after spark plug change and after dealer tested it they told us it had engine coolant in #2 Cylinder and that driving it could lead to catastrophic engine failure. Only fix is complete engine block replacement (Recommended by Ford in Bulletin TSB22-2229) along with new turbo as it may also have been damaged by coolant leak. (Could also damage catalytic converter. This is a known default due to design fault in 2.0 litre engine. Since vehicle is off warranty, the repair replacement is going to cost over $10,000.00. I understand this is affecting a serious number of Ford customers with this engine, a number of which have been quietly replaced under warranty. I feel Ford owes their customers replacement costs on this issue and a recall should be issued. If ones motor seizes up suddenly while driving it could result in injury or death. I have contacted Ford directly, and their response is it's out of warranty so I am out of luck. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | POWER TRAIN | My 2018 Ford Edge (VIN [XXX] ) suffered a premature transmission failure at 105,415 miles. Just 389 miles earlier, Ford performed Customer Satisfaction Program 22N12 (flexplate/torque converter/pump replacement), for which I paid $1,669 as my 50% share. Less than two months later, the same dealer diagnosed the transmission as failed due to the forward clutch being stuck and quoted $6,955 for replacement. Ford’s maintenance schedule does not require transmission service until 150,000 miles, so this failure is premature and unreasonable. A transmission failure at highway speed could cause sudden loss of power, greatly increasing the risk of a crash. This issue appears related to Ford’s known flexplate defect (CSP 22N12) and raises concern of broader transmission reliability/safety problems in affected vehicles. | Sep 2025 | ENGINE | The engine failed before 55,000 miles. Collant is getting into the engine and causing a cylinder failure. This is a known problem for this engine. The Ford mechanic and other mechanics stated that they no longer use that engine due to the problem. Since I did not purchase an extended warranty, Ford is requiring nearly $12,000 to replace the engine. Started rough 1 morning, then ran fine within 1 mile. Next start was smooth, but the check engine light came on. The check engine light did not stay on consistently. The next time it felt rough, I took it into Ford to see what was happening. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | POWER TRAIN | I’m having an issue where there’s a sudden loss of all power while driving at highway speeds, forcing me to slowly move to a safe spot while trying not to get hit by other cars. Once I’m safely stopped, I have to turn the vehicle off and back on, and then the power is restored—but the problem can randomly happen anytime at speeds over 65–70 mph. No codes are showing. A repair shop couldn’t find the issue, and even the dealership says everything is fine and just tells me to keep driving it. Sometimes it happens twice in one day, and other times I won’t see it for a week. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

So why is my car constantly dying with a new battery is my vehicle pat if the 80 something Ford edges that has connection issues with the alternator etc. please help with already two recalls that my vehicle has but can’t be replaced due to parts not ready for repairs by ford. | Sep 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | The car has been having a chemical smell when it starts. I recently was driving from San Antonio, Texas to Austin, Texas and received a warning that my car was overheating. The warning went off immediately and I continued driving it. A few days later, I got an oil change and was told that I had no coolant in the vehicle. They filled the coolant for me. I continued driving the car. This week, the car was shaking pretty violently when I turned on the ignition. I proceeded to drive it and it drove normally. The following day, a check engine light came on. I took it in to see a mechanic that day and they confirmed that I had a coolant intrusion problem caused by the 2.0L Eco boost engine which is defective and allows coolant to escape into the engine injectors. Ford is not taking any responsibility for this and says that it is not under warranty so there's no programs they can offer me. Ford should issue a recall of this defective product to avoid injuries or accidents. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE | Coolant intrusion defect. The engine coolant leaks into the combustion chamber, due to a failure in the engine block design. TSB 19-2346 issued by Ford addresses this known and serious issue for my 2018 Ford Edge, 2.0L EcoBoost engine. In 2024, I purchased a used, 2018 Ford Edge with 49k miles. A few months after I purchased this used vehicle at a dealership, my Check Engine light came on. The vehicle showed other symptoms of white smoke, coolant loss, misfiring and rough idle. I brought my car to a local dealership (not the same dealership that I purchased the vehicle) and they confirmed the coolant intrusion defect. When I purchased the vehicle, it didn't come with a warranty. I tried getting help from by calling Ford Customer Service, and they offered no goodwill assistance and no coverage assistance at all. I ended up having a new engine put in my vehicle for $7,000. This was done by a local car repair shop, not done at a dealership. I now have to pay a loan for $7k on top of my monthly car payment that existed before the new engine. Although my vehicle is no longer under warrant, I understand this issue stems from a documented manufacturing defect and has affected a wide range of Ford models. I've taken good care of my vehicle and it has been maintained regularly. I want to retain confidence in Ford as a brand that stands behind its products, but I didn't get anywhere with Ford after submitting a case and speaking with a representative and also a manager. I don't know what else to do in trying to get reimbursed for the replacement of the engine of $7,000. I would like to be added to any potential class-action. | Sep 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The back-up camera failed in August of 2024. The camera displayed a blank or distorted image (it changed as put in reverse) on the center display screen when the vehicle was put in reverse AND on occasion displayed a message on the center display screen that the rear-view camera is unavailable. The vehicle is available for inspection. THE REAR-VIEW CAMERA FAILURE REDUCED OR DISTORTED THE DRIVERS VIEW OF WHAT IS BEHIND THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. This specific failure is under a current/new recall: Sep 08,2025 Manufacturer Recall Number 25S89 NHTSA Recall Number 25V572. Yes, this vehicle was inspected AND repaired by Greenway Ford, 9001 E. Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL 32817 for which I paid them $1,260.02 on 8/28/2024. I do not recall any different warnings, messages or other symptoms other than those already described here within. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE | At 77,000 Kilometers, check engine light came on, during inspection it is observed that there is an active coolant intrusion leak in cylinders 1 and 3. This is a Ford Edge 2018, with a 2.0L Ecoboost engine. The car is undriveable and needs a full engine replacement. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | See attached document for complaint. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE | Cylinder misfire, caused coolant intrusion into cylinder caused by defective motor wall. This could have caused by engine to lock up while driving and cause an accident. Luckily I was able to get it to the dealer before that happened. FORD is aware of this defective motor in these models but has refused to issue a recall. My car is a 2018, however, the car ONLY has 50,000 miles on it. I want others to know of this danger. These engines should be recalled before someone is hurt in crash due to this defect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE | I had a Cylinder misfire (code P0302) due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinder. This was due to a crack in the engine block. This is a common issue with the 2.0L ecoboost engine. No recall. Ford's fix was for me to replace the long block engine with a redesign version to fix the casting problem. This cost was covered by me, even though this is a known common issue by Ford that requires an engine replacement. The engine had 78,193 miles on it, so it was out of warranty. Repair cost me over $7,000. There is are currently lawsuits due to this case and engine. | Aug 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | 2018 ford edge with 2.0 ecoboost engine over heating leaking coolant into cylinders caused engine failure. Lucky this did not catch fire. Ford knows the issue and will not put out a recall. Very dangerous and disgusting business practice. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The approximate failure mileage was 121,816. | Crash: No Fire: No | 121,816 |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE | Car has a coolant leak and has been diagnosed as having coolant intrusion. I was told that there is a recall but it doesn’t include my VIN | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE | On August 19, 2025, Koons Woodbridge Ford determined my 2028 Ford Edge requires a long block replacement due to coolant intrusion into cylinder 3, per customer invoice RO# [XXX] Tag# [XXX]. This is a known issue, which is documented by technical service bulletin 22-2229. Aimee DePugh, Koons Woodbridge Ford Service Advisor, informed me that I should contact Ford to request reimbursement. However, the guidance I received was to send the dealership service manager written correspondence requesting the dealership restore the engine at their expense because of the known engine design flaw. I sent the dealership a note via their online portal on August 20, 2025. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE | I have a 2018 Ford Edge Titanium Eco Boost with 115,000 miles on it. I bought it used in 2018 with 17,000 miles on it. The engine light came on and I took it to a repair shop. The codes are p0303 and p0316. They inspected the cylinder and there is coolant leaking into cylinder 3. Apparently this is very common for this vehicle and is described as a design flaw. With this problem being very common and a known design flaw from Ford, I strongly encourage a recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the spark plugs were replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for an oil change. The vehicle was taken to a friend, who determined there was coolant intrusion into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 60,000 |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE | 2018 Ford Edge, 79K miles. Check engine light came on and I immediately had it checked out. It was misfiring, spark plugs were replaced to attempt to fix the issue. Light came back on a few weeks later, it was discovered that coolant was leaking into cylinder 3 and causing the misfire. Ford recommends that the engine be replaced. This appears to be an issue that Ford is very aware of and many Ford Edges are affected, yet there is not a recall. This defect may lead to overheating and can result in the cylinder head cracking, total engine failure, and/or engine fires. This puts me and other drivers at significant risk and I am very displeased with Ford. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | This car hesitates, engine light indicates misfire. Dealer confirms coolant leaking into the engine. I find out now this is a well known and widespread problem with Ford engines in this era. The car is unsafe to drive due to impending sudden and complete engine failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that there was coolant inside the cylinders. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 148,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 148,000 |
| Aug 2025 | ENGINE | Vehicle was taken in for service after the check engine light illuminated. Upon inspection, it was determined that coolant is leaking into the No. 2 cylinder, requiring a complete engine replacement. This is a serious safety concern, as engine failure can occur without warning. The vehicle is a 2018 model with only 51,159 miles, purchased new from the local Ford dealership, and should not be experiencing a major engine failure at such low mileage. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
