Dec 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Only have about 13600 miles on my 2018 Edge and the battery drains down about .5 v overnight. Could not start in in my garage after 4 days of sitting, charged it up and took it to the Ford dealer where they did a load test on the battery, it tested at 89%. I did a load test with a multimeter with the same results. Dealer told me to keep a trickle charger on it because I didn't drive it enough which was a poor answer. There is a NHTSA #18V54800 out there and a Ford recall #18S25 that does not include my SUV but it could have the same problem. Looking on line there are others with the same issues with the battery going dead just by sitting and in most cases changing out batteries was not the cure and it seemed Ford offered no resolve. If this is a problem caused by a loose connection or a short it could indeed become a bigger safety issue. My vehicle was built at the same plant as stated on the Ford recall # and it should be considered a safety issue for all Edges of the model year of 2018 made a that plant. I'm not sure this is my problem but I need to start somewhere noting that it's happened to others besides me. Thank you for any help in this matter

Dec 2022 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The car has difficulty staying started after filling up with fuel. It does settle out but it is getting worse.. Today, it shut off while moving after just being filled up. Apparently, the fuel purge valve is going bad. This should be a recall of some sort since it seems to be a common problem with this vehicle. An expensive problem.

Oct 2022 ENGINE TSB 22-2229 Had dealer change spark plugs, while attempting broke spark plug off in head. Reported they would have to replace the head. More investigation led them to TSB 22-2229 and a boroscope of the head found coolant intrusion. Now the dealer states it will cost me 6500$ to repair the long block due to the coolant intrusion. This is a known problem with 2014-2018 Ford Edge and Ford Escapes as well as other vehicles. Copied from a law group website who is filing a class action lawsuite "Experts recommend that customers notify the Ford motor company as soon as possible once they identify an issue. These problems are not always simple and could cause dangerous consequences. If the leak inside it is left unfixed, it could cause problems with the engine and cause a rear-drive axle seizure." A quick search of this has hundreds of complaints stating this issue. This is not just a rear drive axle seizure issue. This could cause a fire in the engine due to coolant in the combustion. The check engine code did display with a P0300 MISFIRE Cylinder 3 code on it.

Oct 2022 STEERING,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE About a week and a half ago, we started getting an error message that the Adaptive steering fault requires service. We contacted our local Ford dealer who says it could be an electrical issue. But can't see us until Nov 1st. Additionally ,when driving straight, the steering wheels ( Ford logo) is turned to the left. It is worrisome but the dealer says it's safe to drive. I don't think so. In doing our research,we've found that this seems to be an issue. I shouldn't have to pay for theses repairs whether through my pocket or through my extended warranty. Which will be out of pocket either way, because I pay for this through my car note and would have a deductible.

Oct 2022 POWER TRAIN My vehicle is not listed under the recall 17S16(2) this is an expansion to recall 17V-427 yet my car has been sitting for 4 months at a FORD dealership because the TORQUE CONVERTOR that is not performing IS ON BACKORDER. Why is FORD being allowed to string me the consumer along until they decide that this is a big problem? I received a Service Notice (Customer Satisfaction Program 22N12 stating that they are aware of a problem with the flexplate, transmission fluid pump and Torque convertor but no RESOLUTION. I cannot AFFORD to keep making car payments for a car I cannot drive. I am beyond frustrated and FORD will not communicate with me.

Oct 2022 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE My vehicle only has 77K miles on it and is already needing an entirely new engine due to coolant intrusion into the cylinder. We discovered this after replacing all the spark plugs in the vehicle and the check engine light not disengaging. You should not have to replace an entire engine with only 77K miles. This is a known issue with FORD referencing two bulletin's - the first bulletin #19-2346 and now with bulletin #22-2133. They are refusing to cover the repairs 100% and expecting the consumer to pay 40% of the cost of their known issue of a $10K repair ticket. It also clearly states in the recent bulletin that the MIL may or may not engage with this issue. If we had know that this was an issue with this vehicle inside the 5 year/60K mile powertrain warraty which would have covered the repairs 100% we would have taken care of it then. The MIL was never engaged and provided any indication that this was going on. It was discovered after the MIL engaged at 77K miles and we took it in for service and had all spark plugs replaced costing almost $300 in repairs just to discover that did not resolve the check engine light to stop illuminating. This vehicle has been maticulously maintained since taking ownership of it in 2018. All service records are available if needed.
