| Apr 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The vehicle experienced a safety-related issue involving the hybrid system, which may cause sudden loss of power while driving. This issue is associated with a manufacturer recall (Toyota campaign 25TB15). Due to the risk of power loss, the vehicle was deemed unsafe to drive. The vehicle was taken to a dealership for repair, where the issue was confirmed. However, no repair has been completed. The vehicle has remained at the dealership for over 3 months without a confirmed repair timeline. This creates a significant safety concern, as loss of power while driving could increase the risk of a crash, especially at highway speeds. No accident, fire, or injury has occurred, as the vehicle has not been driven due to the safety risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS | I am filing a complaint against our 2026 Toyota Camry XLE AWD, this complaint probably impacts all new cars. I have no issues with the mechanics or the car, its mileage, etc. However, the so-called safety features, what you call ADAS, are nothing more than a driver distraction. The reason for the complaint is that there is no means by which these distractions can be permanently disabled. I understand that there was a law suit a number of years ago whose outcome resulted in the distractions being permanently on. However, this is wrong! Adding a disable feature to the system is trivial; and to avoid future lawsuits, only allowing the dealership to activate this feature once the car owner signs a form that prevents them from filing suits is easily accomplished. I urge you to change the rules so these distraction features can be disabled. They are certainly going to cause accidents because the driver pays attention to the car and not that which is happening outside the car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | There is a recall for this vehicle for a loose inverter bolt. NHTSA recall No. 25V-869. The inverter bolt can become loose leading to a loss of drive power or fire while vehicle is on which can cause an accident, injury, or loss of life/property if the above mentioned occur while operating the vehicle. Information given by Toyota Brand Engagement Center has stated the remedy was supposed to have been available in February 2026. When follow up calls were made after February passed with no recall update, Toyota stated that the remedy should be available by the end of the 1st quarter. When the first quarter passed with still no update regarding the recall, another follow up call was made to Toyota with no updates available and no idea when an update could occur or when a remedy could possibly become available. They have failed to provide an update to the recall and when its potential remedy will be available in a timely manner allowing the continued use of these vehicles, knowing the potential for sudden loss of drive power could lead to accidents with the potential for catastrophic outcomes such as loss of life. This delay in remedy seems unacceptable and reckless at minimum. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Mar 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The remedy to fix the current recall is taking absurdly long. I have driven a car previously in which there was a sudden loss of power and the risk to myself and other drivers is very dangerous. I just purchased this car in Nov. and the recall was soon after. I am very disappointed in this lack of urgency in finding a remedy. I purchased this car for my teen daughter to drive - what a mark on the safety of Toyotas name. There should be an investigation as to why the remedy is not being rushed as, again a lack of power and/or risk of fire on a busy California freeway, is putting so many at risk. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I purchased a 2026 Toyota Camry SE in November 2025. The hybrid battery has stop working several times also the steering system has failed as well. I am told the hybrid battery is defective. Toyota the Manufacture has refused to replace it. I am afraid for my safety. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING,WHEELS | I purchased a Toyota camry 2026 on January 5th 2026. After a week of driving the vehicle. I noticed it was sliding around & having a hard time stopping on my way home from work. One night going up a hill. I had to stop at a red light. When it turned green I tried to proceed. The tires just spun out I couldn't go any further. I had to turn around & go a different way. It's was only cold out no snow on the ground yet. A couple days later in the burger King drive thru. I had my son in the car. I was going less than 10mph. The vehicle wouldn't stop at the speaker. I ended up sliding into the speaker. It scared my son & myself. I attempted to contact Toyota about the issue. They told me if I wanted more aggressive winter tires. Then I should buy some. It's not about wanting winter tires I told them. It's about my safety, the safety of my family & the safety of other drivers on the road. They claim the OEM tires are all season tires. They are definitely not all season tires made for anyone that lives up north. I've never ever had an issue with a brand new vehicle driving in the winter with OEM tires until this Toyota. They refused to address the issue. I've also contacted the tire manufacturer. Even though they never sold the tires to me living in Connecticut in the winter. It was Toyota that decided these tires were ok to put on the vehicle & sell in any region of the USA. I had to purchase new England all season tires. Which cost quite a lot. I'd I had known I had to buy brand new tires for a 33,000$ vehicle. I either would have worked that into the cost of the vehicle. Or I wouldn't have purchased the vehicle. The salesman never told me the tires are a safety liability in Connecticut during the winter. Which is when I purchased the vehicle. The OEM tires that came with the camry cannot be driven in cold weather. I even offered to bring the car in to the dealership so they could put different tires on the vehicle that would be safe. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
