Feb 2026 ENGINE My 2024 Toyota Tundra imax hybrid started off with a knocking sound. I took it into a certified Toyota dealership to have it inspected. I was then told that they had ordered a part it needed to fix the problem. After not hearing back and the knocking getting louder. I reached back out and took it back for further inspection. They then told me that it needed a system update. After running the update, a couple of times later after diving the Tundra, it had a power issue when pushing the gas to accelerate. I then reached out to Toyota once again and took it back to be serviced. They told me that they test drove my truck and had no issues with acceleration. So I went and picked it up. Just a couple days after receiving my truck back, I was at an intersection with the blinking turn signal and attempted to take off when the truck completely stalled out. I had two cars almost crash into me, but barely missed! I started the truck back and went directly home. I then told Toyota about the situation and they told me to bring it back in. It then stalled again when I was taking it to the dealership. Once I got it back to the dealership and told them what happened, they said they would look into it. After they had it the first few days I never heard anything back, so I called to see what was going on with my truck. They told me that they were waiting to hear back from corporate Toyota for further directions from TAS. My truck then sat there for a few weeks. I kept reaching out to see what was going on and all they kept telling me is that they were working on it, and that they test drove the truck, but couldn’t get it to stall. I had the Toyota app on my phone, showing the mileage, and the mileage had never moved. Letting me know that they hadn’t actually test drove it. So after all of this, they never did any work on my truck. I was now scared to drive it, and honestly didn’t want it back.

Feb 2026 EXTERIOR LIGHTING NHTSA 25V322 indicates potential issue with reverse lamp assemblies as well as the remedy. Recall Status indicates "remedy not yet available". It has been over 6 months (5/15/25 to 2/9/26) since this safety recall was filed. This has been an unreasonably long time and Toyota should be compelled to initiate the remedy immediately and provide a detailed explanation as to why it is failing to meet its own code of conduct with respect to product safety and the law.

Feb 2026 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The engine repair was a short block only, even thoe the main bearings spun and sent debis threw the engine. #1 rod went as well. Apon recieving the truck back, with in 200 miles, I've had the same hesitation with the engines as I had just before the first engine failed. Took it by the dealer and no issues found. oil preasure stays up and temp normal. I've had many issue with throtle lag sence day one. The milage has stayed in the low 11 gpm when before i would get on average 14 to 16. Dealer stated toyota would make it right if the engine fails again. Very unhappy with Toyota as I feel they are just kicking the can down the road.

Jan 2026 ENGINE As I was drive home at 45 mph the vehicle started surging and then the engine started knocking. then I stopped the vehicle and called Toyota for a tow. The truck was towed to the local dealer (Sheehy Toyota) for inspection. upon inspection the motor has a bad knocking in the lower end of the engine. The truck is now in the shop getting the engine disassembled. believed to be a main bearing failure. The truck has 9,229 miles on it. light use and had the oil changed 500 miles prior by the dealer.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN Numerous times (4-5) the truck has failed to accelerate from a rolling stop and/or a full stop. One time recently, I stopped and quickly tried to turn left onto another road. As I accelerated, the engine lagged and the truck felt as if it would stall. In all instances, the transmission seems as if it has not downshifted into 1st gear... and appears as if it is stuck in 3rd or 4th gear and the engine struggles to keep up. No warning lights or messages appeared in any of the instances. I am taking it to the dealer for them to look at.

Jan 2026 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM When starting from a very slight rolling stop I sometimes get no throttle response at all. When this happens i end up applying more throttle and I still do not move. Then after a second or two the truck takes off like a rocket. This usually happens at an intersection with the steering wheel turned one way or the other. Not sure if this is an engine or transmission issue or both.

Jan 2026 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Purchased new in 2024. since ownership, Ive experienced throttle lag. Especially from the stopped position. I have also experienced occasional stalling for no apparent reason. Dealership has noted issues I have mentioned. vehicle now has 32000 miles and issues continue .Delaership has been unable to remedy either situation

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN I was at a stop sign making a left turn across four lanes of travel. I had a gap in traffic with ample time to make the left turn so I pressed on the gas pedal to begin the turn. The vehicle did not move forward upon me pressing the gas pedal. After about one second the vehicle finally moved. At that point cross traffic was closing in so I pressed the gas pedal to the floor. The vehicle lurched forward and the rear end broke loose causing me to fishtail the vehicle while making the turn. This delay in acceleration put me and my family at risk of being struck by oncoming traffic. The delay in acceleration caused me to mismanage the throttle sending the vehicle into an out of control turn which could have resulted in a crash had I not been able to regain control. I presented this information to the dealership mechanic and they told me that’s just how the gas pedals work in the tundra. That is not an acceptable answer. I paid too much for this vehicle for it to not be safe to drive.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE I was stopped and went to pull out of the gas station. With my foot on the throttle I pull out. And it would not accelerate. I had to pump the gas pedal I almost got hit by oncoming traffic due to the lack of acceleration this has happened multiple times Very dangerous

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN Extreme lag response from stop on numerous occasions causing vehicle to not move for well over 1-2 seconds. Seems to happen mostly within 5 mins of start up. Had to stop slightly out in intersections several times due to this lag not allowing me to proceed safely. It doesn’t sputter at all, it just doesn’t move

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN Throttle hesitation. Seems to be a widely experienced issue with many third gen tundra owners. Press the gas, expecting the truck to drive, but it just lags a few seconds, then will finally engage and begin driving. Has put me in some close calls in traffic.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL When at a complete stop, going to pull out, or continue driving, there is a noticable lag to the acceleration. It sometimes does nothing for a few seconds before acceleration. If backing up, then switching to drive,.there is a delay and or a small jerk motion before the vehicle accelerates. This has caused issues when pulling out and vehicles are coming at normal speeds with plenty of time to pull out. The delay has almost caused several accidents.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN Like most other third gen tundra owners, I experience a significant delay at random between pressing the throttle and actual vehicle movement. Often in unsafe situations, such as in traffic or at intersections, the vehicle will not move for 1-5 seconds upon pressing the throttle/pedal. When it finally does move, it will jump forward, startling passengers. This is a clear safety concern that occurs across Tundra 3rd gen models that Toyota has not addressed. I have personally been in several situations where this delay carried a risk of an accident. This has occurred since the truck is new. It now has 30k miles and is meticulously maintained.

Jan 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER When initially starting the vehicle, when at a complete stop, the vehicle lags when pressing the accelerator. It’s almost as if the vehicle doesn’t recognize that I’m pressing it at all and I have to reset my foot and start the process over. There is a slight incline hill that has a stop sign that I come to everyday after work and this happens maybe twice a week.

Jan 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Acceleration pause or lag dead spot from slow like yielding at yield sign or from stop. Not always from stop but consistent from slow rolling from situations like yield sign or merging to traffic. I have encountered several situations where I was afraid I would be hit by another vehicle but lucky enough to make it or the other driver slowed or break. Then when it does go there is a huge jerk like it kicked in and I punched the accelerator. This occurs frequently.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I have had an issue several times which nearly resulted in a traffic accident. The truck has a sudden loss of acceleration where the gas pedal is completely dead. It last a few seconds and then goes back to normal. This has nearly caused several accidents where I could not properly accelerate while traffic was heading in my direction. After talking with other Tundra owners, I am not the only one with this issue. This needs immediate attention. If it is not fixed as soon as possible, I fear that someone will get seriously injured or killed. Please take this matter seriously. I suspect it may have something to do with the pre collision sensor system on the truck. It seems that it happens when there is a slight grade or dip in the road. Perhaps the sensors are at a lower angle due to the dip, making it think there is an object it will hit. The Toyota service centers don’t appear to know why this is happening and cannot reproduce the issue in a short visit.
