| May 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I have had a constant squeek with my brakes since the day I got the car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | I took my vehicle in several times for issues regarding the brakes. I was told for months nothing was wrong. The brake percentage was rapidly declining on the display and they just kept saying it would fix itself in an update. Finally the service brake alert came on prompting me to take it to the dealership again for the brakes. I was told my front brakes were completely gone and needed new pads and rotors and my back brake lines were severed and pouring brake fluid everywhere. I was told I was lucky I brought it when I did because I could have gone to stop and just not been able to. It was concerning because there was no warning or indication there was anything wrong and I kept being told everything was fine | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Back in December 2025 took car in because there was a coolant leak until the car started. Alerting me that it was overheating in the middle of the freeway. I had to find a place to pull over while the car was alerting. With urgent urgent urgent alert to pull over. Took it into dealership and it Turns out it had a coolant hose leak . I took the car in for an oil change TODAY and turns out has a host leak again. The dealer did the inspection and I don’t have the part available to fix it. And this is a brand new car giving me issues. I travel far on weekend so this would be hazzard. The dealer said the water tank low because of the leak. It’s also the rear backseat window would not go Thank you It’s leaking, and that’s a safety issue. Because if there’s Down emergency, we can roll the window down. We also had an issue with the break pad alert system alert me. There was no brakes. It turned out to be in update issue and again I was going to travel on vacations. Those are other issues. I’ve had with the car but the maintenance issue today is at the clothes again is leaking and is a safety hazard because if I’m driving and the car and it overheats. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2026 | Other/I am not sure | On the car seat there are two indicators to tell you if the seat is locked in place because it is a rotating car seat. Both indicators never fully go in the “green” meaning the seat is fully locked into place. The car seat is less than two years old and both indicators are malfunctioning, they aren’t going fully in the green. I reached out to the company with pictures and videos and they have done nothing to help. They said from the video it looks like the car seat is functioning properly and they will not fix or replace it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Car stalled in middle of intersection. Had to get out push it out of the way turned on again after trying few times. Stalled again at stop sign won’t turn on locked out turned off car tried few more times got out pushed it out of the way tried few more times turned on again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | At purchase, I noticed that the brakes felt spongy and were screeching when the salesmen pulled up. The salesmen stated that new brakes always screech due to burned plastic. Weeks later, I scheduled a servicing appointment with Chevy Crews in North Charleston, due to brake screeching, the repairmen told me again that the brakes had condensation on them, so he dusted them off and the screeching would stop in 3 weeks. 3 weeks later I returned again, the salesmen told me that GMC made the vehicles with faulty brakes. My vehicle was seen over 4 times for screeching brakes, thousands of consumers have complained about the same issue, and GMC has failed to act. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | STEERING,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The 2024 Chevy Traverse has super cruise. It is basically an auto drive feature. It has sensors in the top part of the steering wheel. This plastic area is known for cracking and the dealership said there is nothing they can do. This is absurd. They know there is an issue with the wheels cracking and they are not fixing them under the warranty. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | Vehicle driving 32 miles an hour had sudden brake failure. The brakes did not work. Then, the vehicle had the following faults; ESC fault, traction and stability control fault, brake system fault, air conditioning failure (blowing hot air while 92 degrees out), lane assist fault, power steering fault. The vehicle almost slammed into traffic as it could not stop. The vehicle has 14872 miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Approximately four weeks ago on 02/03/2026, during rainy conditions, the brakes on the vehicle did not function properly, creating a serious safety concern. At the same time, a hose connected broke and there was a strong burning smell coming from the vehicle. I also noticed fluid leaking from the vehicle. I immediately took the vehicle to the dealership for repair, and the vehicle remained there for approximately five days for inspection, parts, and repair. Additionally, this is now my third time bringing the vehicle in for service. During previous visits, I asked the service department about the condition of my brakes because they were making a squeaking noise and I was concerned about their performance. I was told by the service department that the brakes were fine, that I still had plenty of brake life remaining, and that the squeaking noise was normal. However, as of March 4, 2026, my vehicle displayed a new warning message stating “Service Brake Pad Monitor – Front Brakes.” This is concerning because the vehicle currently has approximately 25,490 miles. Given the previous brake concerns I reported and the dealership’s response that the brakes were normal, the new warning message raises additional concerns about the safety and reliability of the braking system. Because this defect involves the braking system and creates a safety concern, I am requesting that General Motors review my case under the applicable Lemon Law and advise me on the next steps toward either a vehicle replacement or buyback if the issue cannot be fully resolved. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | ENGINE | Vehicle overheated while driving on interstate in 32F weather. No warnings lights warning of low coolant - only noticed climbing temperature gauge and cooling fans running at full speed. Pulled over and drove slowly to nearest exit with service station. Found coolant reservoir completely empty but with no obvious leaks. Chevrolet dealer diagnosed leaking radiator hose - typical with numerous social media report of similar issue with the 2024 model year Chev Traverse Generation 3. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES | What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The front and rear brake system is malfunctioning. Both front and rear rotors have developed significant premature heat “hot spots,” causing loud, persistent squealing and excessive heat from the front wheels. It began with the front brakesm July 2025 and as of October 2025 the rear brakes had the same issues. This vehicle is available for inspection upon request. ----- How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This issue involves the primary braking system. The front and rear brakes become excessively hot and produce loud, constant squealing. I am concerned about potential brake drag, caliper malfunction, or premature rotor damage, which could reduce braking efficiency or lead to brake failure. Because this affects stopping performance, it presents a potential safety risk to myself, passengers, and others on the road. ---- Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The Chevrolet dealership confirmed that both front and rear rotors have heat hot spots and advised replacement of the rotors and brake pads. Although I replaced the front break parts as suggested this did not repairthe issues. The vehicle is currently under review by a GM technician, but they have delayed a response sense January 14, 2026. ----- Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Yes. The vehicle was inspected by a Chevrolet dealership and reviewed by a GM technician. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. --- There were no dashboard warning lights. The primary symptom was loud, persistent squealing from the front and rear brakes and noticeable premature heat spots on all the roters. The noise developed within approximately one year of ownership and at relatively low mileage for a new vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | This was one of about ten times this has randomly happened when using Super Cruise. We were heading south on I-41 and super cruise is active and set around 80 mph, I entered an area where Super Cruise became unavailable or the system indicates that road information is not available, the vehicle immediately began to rapidly decelerate to under 60 mph within 5 seconds of the vehicle notifying me with red bar on steering wheel and one buzz of my seat. Causing serious concern for safety of my family in the vehicle. During this deceleration, I am unable to override or stop it — pressing the brake pedal does not cancel the slowdown, applying the accelerator has no effect, and no control buttons will disengage Super Cruise. All pedals are dead. All buttons to cancel do not disengage what the CAR is doing. The vehicle continues to slow down on its own, which poses a significant safety risk on highways and interstates. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) | The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving out of the dealer's parking lot at 4-5 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the messages "Service ESC System" and "Brake System Failure - Press Hard to Brake - Do Not Drive" were displayed, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the brake pedal, and the vehicle rolled to a stop. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the failure was associated with the braking system. The dealer disconnected and reconnected the battery, and the dealer cleared the codes. The dealer informed the contact that the vehicle was repaired and returned the vehicle to the contact; however, the contact stated that the dealer had failed to determine the cause of the failure and to perform an adequate repair of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated that the brakes had been making an abnormal squeaking sound while the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed; however, the contact had not yet been contacted. The failure mileage was 16,876. | Crash: No Fire: No | 16,876 |
| Feb 2026 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,PARKING BRAKE | The contact's wife owns a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while his wife was driving 60 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. The driver engaged the parking brake; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The driver swerved to avoid the vehicle in front, drove over an incline, jerked the steering wheel, and the vehicle eventually stopped. The message "Braking Module System Failure" was displayed. The contact stated that the incident was frightening for his wife and his two children, who were also inside the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was acknowledged that the braking system module and the parking brake had failed; however, no official diagnostic information was provided. The vehicle was repaired under warranty, and the contact was advised that the vehicle was drivable; however, the contact advised the dealer that there were safety concerns because the cause of the failure was not yet determined, and there was no guarantee that the failure would not recur. The vehicle was driven back to the residence, although the contact remained concerned. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed, but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 28,000 |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that after arriving at the intended destination and turning off the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. There was no warning light illuminated; however, the OnStar App notified the contact that the battery voltage was low. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 15,000 |
| Feb 2026 | ENGINE | The car has a check engine light. Code reads P3075. The app shows an Engine Cooling System error. Please schedule service now. The dealer diagnosed the issue: the coolant pipe to the radiator has failed and needs to be replaced. The part is on backorder, and there is no ETA for the repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES | I experienced complete brake failure while coming up to an intersection during rush hour. To avoid crashing into the vehicles in front of me I went off the road onto the shoulder and coasted until I stopped. During this “brake failure” popped up on my dash. (I have a picture) I ended up turning the car off and then starting it back up. Everything appeared to be fine, however I was not fine. I called the dealership right away and brought in. They diagnosed it as needing brake master cylinder and it took about 30 days for the vehicle to get fixed. Now I’m experiencing transmission fluid leaking. The vehicle shudders when accelerating. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | TIRES | My vehicle began to really wobble and shake so I brought the vehicle to the closest tire shop. They told me right away that the belt broke on one of my tires, the tire was bulging, and the tire was beginning to split apart. Then he showed me how the other front tire was beginning to do the same. He said had I not taken it there, it would have soon blown out. This is a serious safety concern. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and has 28,000 miles on it. Bridgestone tires should last at least between 50-60,000 miles. Tire: 255/65R18 111T M&S. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | This has happened two times. Driving down the road between 35-55mph. "Speed limited drive with care" no CEL. Took to dealer, advised with a CEL or no codes nothing they could do for it. Multiple nights I get home and the fan stays running after engine shutdown. Engine overheat within 10 min of drive time. OIL SMELLS LIKE FUEL. This time engine throttles back and nearly caused accident with not being able to merge. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | I am filing this complaint regarding a persistent and unresolved defect with my 2024 Chevrolet Traverse, VIN: [XXX] . The first occurrence of this issue was in June 2025. Since then, the vehicle has repeatedly experienced a “Check Engine” warning, engine misfires (cylinder misfire), loss of power while driving, and severe engine shaking. These symptoms make the vehicle unsafe to operate. The vehicle has been taken to an authorized Chevrolet dealership approximately 20 times for the same ongoing issue. Despite multiple repair attempts, the problem has never been permanently resolved. In total, the vehicle has spent about three months out of service at the dealership. As of January 14, 2026, after the vehicle has been at the dealership for over two weeks, I was informed that the dealer is unable to repair the vehicle. They have escalated the case to the manufacturer, General Motors, because they cannot identify a permanent solution. The current mileage of the vehicle is approximately 41,700 miles. This ongoing defect makes the vehicle unreliable and unsafe for normal use. The repeated failures to repair suggest a potential manufacturing or design defect rather than an isolated incident. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter and determine whether an investigation or further action is warranted. | Dec 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES | I got my 2024 traverse little over a year ago. | Dec 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I am experiencing a recurring battery/charging system detection warning with my vehicle that has not been resolved despite multiple service visits. The warning continues to reappear after the vehicle is returned to me, indicating the issue has not been properly diagnosed or repaired. My vehicle has been in the shop approximately 5 times for this same issue. Each time, I am told the problem is resolved or that they cannot replicate the issue, yet the warning returns shortly afterward. To date, no permanent fix has been provided, and the underlying problem has not been remedied. I have made repeated attempts to work with GM and the dealership, but meaningful assistance or escalation has not occurred. This ongoing electrical issue raises concerns about the reliability and safety of the vehicle, as well as GM’s failure to correct a known, documented problem. I am requesting appropriate escalation and resolution, including further diagnostic intervention by a regional service manager or field engineer, or consideration of alternative remedies if the issue cannot be permanently repaired. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Recurring failures related to brake system. When reversing, the rear brake assist system slams on the brakes for no reason even though no obstacles are present. This startles everyone in the vehicle and nearby traffic. On other occasions, the vehicle shows an error on the instrument cluster stating "Rear Brake Assist Unavailable". More recently, a persistent error began appearing on the instrument cluster stating "Service Brake Monitor", indicating a failure of the brake pad sensor. On top of all of this, the brakes are noisy and squeaky to the point where it wakes up my neighbors. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Vehicle experienced uncommanded automatic emergency braking with no warnings or obstacles present. Sudden hard braking caused fear of collision. Children were in vehicle as well as two adults. Vehicle has prior collision repairs. Owner fears highway driving due to risk of recurrence. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
