May 2026 VISIBILITY,AIR BAGS The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, a loud banging sound was heard coming from the vehicle. The contact discovered that the sunroof had unexpectedly shattered. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, a supplemental restraint system warning message intermittently displayed, advising the contact to contact the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failures could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was also contacted regarding the shattered sunroof; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 29,112. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Apr 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Our infotainment system stopped working and when we took it one of Acura’s authorized dealers they told us that back half of the car is flooded and that has shot down all the electronics including the infotainment system. They also gave me a bill of $10K USD to fix the leak and replaced damaged electronics. Their argument is that the car was parked outside and that caused this issue. This has never come up in any of our previous maintenance visits where Acura certified dealerships always check our car and tell us that everything is okay. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown

Mar 2026 ENGINE 2004 MDX had digital screen problems where the screen remained black upon starting, which was hazardous as I couldn’t tell how fast I was going. After 3 visits to the dealership they identified the problem and fixed it Also, in a separate instance, car stalled after trying to start up after stop signs or while waiting in traffic several times. Could have been rear ended or worse. Dealer replaced the starter at 30k miles. Still had the same issue after this and they say the car is fine.

Jan 2026 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES I was driving in the far right lane on the Van Wyck Expressway when suddenly my steering wheel locked up on me along with the following error messages displayed on the odometer: 1. Collision mitigation braking system problem. See your dealer 2. Road Departure mitigation problem. See your Dealer 3. Low Speed braking control problem. See your Dealer. 4. Electric Power Steering problem. Steering assist not available. Do not drive. 5. All wheel drive system problem. Only front wheels may be powered. See your Dealer. 6. Brake system problem. Brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer. 7. Brake hold problem. Apply brake when stopped. See your dealer. 8. Vehicle stability assist system problem. Reduced traction and handling. See your dealer. 9. Hill start assist problem. Vehicle may roll upon brake release. See your dealer. Thankfully I was approaching an exit ramp and I was able to steer my MDX safely off the expressway. I parked my car on the service road, turned my hazards on and then turned the car off. When I restarted the car the error messages were gone and power steering worked as if nothing happened. Acura will be hearing from me I could’ve been in a serious accident.

Nov 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER AC / DEFROSTER / HVAC I am reporting a potential safety and health defect involving the HVAC system in my 2024 Acura MDX. When operating the air conditioning or the front windshield defroster, a strong musty odor enters the cabin. The dealer informed me that resolving the odor requires an EVAP core cleaning, replacement of the cabin filter, and the use of a disinfectant that will be circulated throughout the ventilation system to kill mold, mildew, and other contaminants. I was told this is the “first step” in addressing the issue and that the estimated cost is $440 out of pocket. This is extremely concerning because the presence of mold or bacterial contamination inside the HVAC evaporator and ventilation system affects the air my children and I breathe inside the vehicle. Mold exposure can cause respiratory irritation, allergic reactions, headaches, and other symptoms, especially in enclosed spaces. The HVAC system in this vehicle is a sealed, manufacturer-controlled system which the owner cannot access or service, so this type of contamination should not be considered routine maintenance. I have researched this issue and found that Honda/Acura vehicles have a documented history of HVAC mold and mildew odors, and Honda has previously issued internal investigative bulletins requesting dealers to collect parts from vehicles with musty HVAC smells. There are also mold-related complaints already filed with NHTSA for the 2024 MDX model year. This suggests the possibility of a broader engineering or design issue. I need this issue addressed immediately for health reasons, and I may have to initially pay out of pocket to ensure my family’s safety. However, I believe this is a safety-related defect that Acura should be responsible for correcting, not the customer, especially on a relatively new vehicle still under warranty. I am requesting that NHTSA document this case and consider evaluating whether a pattern of HVAC mold contamination exists in newer Acura vehicles.

Nov 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE The start/stop switch stalls the vehicle and will not restart after several tries for up to 5 minutes. We get a message during this time to "continue to drive, depress brake pedal and push switch" and even after then it still will not start for several tries. This has happened several times. One time my wife was on a heavily traveled two lane farm road at a four-way stop and it did it and was almost hit by 18 wheelers trying to navigate around her. This was not only a safety issue for her but also those trying to get around her with all the traffic coming in all direction. Took back to the dealer but it did not do it while they tried to recreate the issue. No warnings prior to the issue of dying and not re-starting. This was the latest occurrence, it had happened a couple of times before.

Nov 2025 SERVICE BRAKES To: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Subject: Urgent Complaint – Illegal Repossession, Lemon Law Obstruction, and Compensation Claim Against Honda Financial Services Dear Sir or Madam, I am filing a formal complaint regarding the illegal repossession of my leased 2024 Acura MDX, VIN [XXX] , account number [INSERT ACCOUNT NUMBER], by Honda Financial Services. This repossession was conducted without any prior notice, without communication of the date, time, or location, and without any legal authorization or court order. 1. No opportunity to respond or act • I was outside the country at the time of repossession and had no chance to respond or protect my rights. • The vehicle was removed one day before my arrival, despite my sister attempting to coordinate that the vehicle be held because my mother is seriously ill and could not make payments. • The vehicle had been immobilized for 4 months due to brake and acceleration defects, which were part of a manufacturer recall affecting all MDX vehicles. 2. Illegal and premeditated removal • My vehicle was removed from a private garage using a towing company, without a court order, without my consent, and without legal authorization. • Video evidence clearly shows the doors were closed; the individual opened them himself, deliberately removed the license plates, and covered his face to avoid surveillance cameras. • These actions constitute intentional concealment, unlawful seizure, and theft, not a lawful repossession. 3. Obstruction of Lemon Law claim • Honda Financial never took the vehicle for inspection or repairs, deliberately preventing evidence of factory defects that rendered the vehicle unusable for over a year. • After multiple attempts to resolve the issue, Honda Financial claimed they have no record, effectively denying rightful compensation and acting in bad faith to sabotage my Lemon Law claim. 4. Violation of federal and state laws • Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) § 9-609: Prohibits reposses INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Sep 2025 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE When cruising or coming off a stop, my car is incapable of accelerating promptly if I am trying to get out of the way or even merge into oncoming traffic on a highway. There is a severe acceleration delay perhaps with the throttle body. I have seen online complaints but the dealership said there has to be an actual recall number to correct this. My car has been in several times to fix this. A computer reset did not work. My car is one year old.

Sep 2025 SERVICE BRAKES on [XXX], I was trying to park under the shade of a tree when the vehicle suddenly surged forward, ran through the back of a big concrete dumpster retaining wall, pushed the dumpster at least 3 to 4 feet forward. It all happened so fast, I was left puzzled about why the brake failed and caused the accident and property damage. Luckily there was no personal injury to me nor anyone else, my car video showed that I narrowly missed 2 Hispanic young men standing near the dumpster ! Since the car is still under warranty, my plan was to get the car checked out by the dealership mechanic after the body shop finished with the $18,000 repair job. Then on 7/31/2025 I received a recall notice from Honda about BRAKE PEDAL PIVOT PIN may not have been staked during production. I immediately contacted State Farm and Honda. On 8/6/2025 A Honda representative, Mr. Noah, called and advised to have the car inspected by dealer for recall issue. I did not agree to it due to what I believed to be a conflict of interest : since the dealer is part of the same network with Honda ! Noah then suggested to get State Farm to request an EDR download of specific data providing insights into what happened before , during and after a collision. or I can order one myself. In accident cases involving vehicle recall, the manufacturer is considered a key party when it comes to investigation, why we consumer need to foot the bill knowing that ordering EDR is not assigned to a single party! It has been more than 3 months now since the accident, and my car is still sitting at the auto shop waiting for an EDR its data might have already been overwritten !! I have never heard from Honda again after 8/6/2025 !! They just ignored my phone calls, emails, accident video and photos totally. There were no warning lamps, message or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Aug 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Vehicle will suddenly shut the engine off and shift into park, even when the auto engine shut off is not active. Typically happens when stopped at a stop light. You will feel the engine shut off, and the car shift into park. It is very scary and unsafe. It has also caused the vehicle to shut off and shift into neutral while it was moving, and the vehicle gave a transmission warning. It sounds very similar to NHTSA Recall 25v-031, however, my vehicle was not included in the recall as it is not a Type S. I took it to the dealership and they said that Acura has opened an investigation due to the number of complaints, but there is no solution yet. I have not other option but to dry the vehicle, but I am worried that it is unsafe and not good for the vehicle to keep stalling the way it is.

Aug 2025 POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated the messages "Parking Sensor Failure - See Dealer", "Brake Performance Failure" and "Brakes May Be Reduced - See Dealer" were displayed. Additionally, the Forward Collision Avoidance sensor would alert the contact of a potential collision erroneously. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the computer systems were reset, and the front bumper sensor was replaced. The contact stated that after the repair, the auto brake hold feature failed to engage upon coming to a stop and releasing the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to roll. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Kearny Mesa Acura (5202 Kearny Mesa Rd, San Diego, CA 92111); to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact also noticed that the wheels were out of alignment. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle surged forward and felt like the transmission had shifted from 1st to 3rd gear instantly, and the failure recurred while decelerating to come to a stop. The contact stated while driving approximately 5 MPH in a parking lot, the vehicle suddenly felt like the transmission was in 3rd gear. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal and stopped the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a third dealer, Acura of Escondido (1502 Auto Park Way N, Escondido, CA 92029) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 9,747.

Jul 2025 SERVICE BRAKES 1. Brake Pedal Sinking to Floor While Stopped - While stopped at a traffic light or in stop-and-go traffic, the brake pedal intermittently sinks all the way to the floor despite steady pressure being applied. This issue occurs sporadically, making it difficult for the dealership to consistently replicate during service visits, but it has happened multiple times. Critically, once the pedal sinks, it does not return to its normal position on its own. I am forced to manually pull it back using my foot, which is both dangerous and unacceptable in a modern vehicle. This creates a serious safety hazard and raises concerns about potential failure of the braking system. 2. Delayed Brake Engagement - The brake pedal consistently travels halfway before the braking system engages and slows the vehicle. On all three occasions, I was told the problem could not be replicated. Despite their findings, the issue persists and poses a serious safety concern, especially in real-world driving conditions. This concern is even more urgent because I regularly transport my family, including my two toddlers aged [XXX] and [XXX] , and I need to be able to rely on the braking system to keep them safe. I have reached out to Acura on numerous occasions to report this issue, but so far, my concerns have not been taken seriously. I have not received any meaningful support or escalation despite clearly communicating the severity of the problem. Jun 2025 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH with the cruise control activated, the vehicle unintendedly decelerated to 6 MPH. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle returned to normal functionality. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7,000.

May 2025 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE I have attached all my service records from Honda/Acura and the dealership Motorworld which is located in Wilkes Barre, PA I had my first issue with the car in January 2024 with sensors malfunctioning. They we replaced a few times, repeated issue I had other issues that didn't replicate themself or show as an error code when I brought the car in. Issue accelerating or inability to accelerate on the highway in a middle lane w/ a tractor trailer on each side. One trying to merge into my lane. Noisy brakes, low breaks etc Fast forward to March 2025, my number one complaint about these sensor issues is they would malfunction on me one day when I was driving. And I was always assured by the dealership it was good, the car was good, I was good. Acura felt the same. Well in April my steering malfunctioned while driving, the steering wheel locked as I was breaking for a red light, and I drifted off the road. Turns out my steering rack needed to replaced. It was fixed on 4/4 then on [XXX] with my children in the car, it did the same thing. Now they tell me it is the EPS, electric power steering. This car spends more time on [XXX] and one day this is going to happen on the interstate and there will be fatalities. I have been screaming at Acura and the Motorworld for months. Acura will not respond to emails (which I have kept) and every time I call the case manager assigned to me is not available. The few times months ago I did speak to someone they tell me the same things the automated email I get once in while that say my case is under review. All dates of occurrence and repair are in the service records I attached. They still have my car today, 5/8/25 so I do not have those to attach. Apr 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2024 Acura MDX. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10-15 MPH and coming off an off-ramp, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The contact noticed that the instrument panel had flashed red. The contact called for AAA Roadside Assistance. The contact stated that AAA Roadside Assistance arrived on the scene and inspected the vehicle, and became aware of corrosion on the copper wire terminal connected to the battery. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,000.

Apr 2025 SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I was pulling into a friend’s driveway. I had my foot on the brake was barely creeping forward. Without any yellow warning, the car slammed on the brakes for me. It hit the brakes so hard, I had smoke coming out of my front, middle vents and when I got out of the car, it smelled very bad and I had smoke coming from my brakes. There was nothing in front of me. The same incident also happened to my husbands few days earlier while he was pulling into our garage.

Jan 2025 VISIBILITY/WIPER I purchased this car in late February 2024. In late July, without any provocation or incident, the windshield cracked on the driver's side. I took the vehicle to an Acura dealer in Virginia Beach, VA, and asked about replacement. The car was less than six months old, and only had about 4,000 miles on it. The dealer stated to me, after taking a number of photographs, that they (the dealer) would submit this as a warranty claim to Acura. I was notified about two weeks later that he windshield was indeed covered by the warranty and that I could make an appointment in early September to have the windshield replaced. Since then, the appointment has been a constant postponement by the dealer and ACura stating that the part -- iu.e. a new windshield -- is not available. The last notification arrived by email this past week (and I am happy to forward the emall chain to you). I cannot het a response form either the dealer or Acura as to if and when this windshield will be replaced. It has not been six months since I started the process.

Jan 2025 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Rear storage compartment is collecting lots of moisture. This area is growing mold on the carpet and lid. Not sure if there is a faulty drain issue or the manufacturer failed to insulate this area properly causing major condensation. This is a serious health hazard concern as occupants are now exposed to mold. Vehicle is scheduled to go in to the dealership to test for water leaks 2/21/25. Until we get into the dealership, from my observation it appears to be an issue with condensation from improper insulation/engineering.
