Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Nov 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE Vehicle was brought in for an oil change and service appointment at the Nissan dealership the day before and was then driven 300 miles. The following day, it was being driven at 40-50mph in residential area when suddenly the gas pedal became unresponsive and the vehicle slowed down on its own in traffic. The message appeared on the screen "Engine Malfunction, Power Reduced, Service Now" and the car would no long go faster than 12 mph. The car had to be turned off and on 4 times before the error cleared and was then able to be driven again.

Nov 2024 SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE In September 2024 I too my car to Bedford Nissan in Ohio. They did an oil change and since then my car has been having issues. When reversing and switching into drive my car jerks extremely hard. I contacted them to let them know and they advised me to bring the car in to get it looked at. Due to my life situations, I was unable to do so at that time. In the beginning of October 2024 my car completely shut down. I was unable to shut it off with the push button or change gears. All of the lights on the dashboard came up. It took me almost 20 minutes for it to finally restart. I contacted Nissan immediately and they advised to bring it back to them. My 2023 brand new car already had a dead battery, faulty wires in the car, the screen goes in and out, and had an Axcel leak. The supposedly fixed these issues. A few weeks later I am having the same exact problems. I have contacted Nissan consumer affairs multiple times. I have reached out to the dealership. I do not get calls back or help to fix the issues that keep reoccurring.

Nov 2024 ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that vehicle was taken to the local dealer for routine maintenance, and the contact was informed that the plastic oil pan brass drain plug had loosened, and oil was leaking. The dealer informed the contact that the oil pan assembly, PN: 11110-6RC1B; needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. There were no warning lights illuminated. There was no indication of a leak. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.

Nov 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM After shutting down the engine and letting the vehicle rest for a while, re-ignition causes a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin. This can lead to light-headedness, headaches, and nausea.

Nov 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My Rogue has had problems with the Pro Pilot adaptive cruise control kicking off at the most inopportune times on the highway since new. It's dangerous to be passing a semi and suddenly the cruise control stops working and the car immediately starts to slow down. Traffic behind me isn't expecting me to suddenly start slowing down without brake lights in a passing lane. I've been honked at and nearly rear-ended twice. I've had the car for nearly a year but keep reading of others with the same problem and no fix from Nissan. I waited to take it in for this problem hoping there would be a fix, but the dealer just states they can't reproduce the problem. Of course they can't; it's intermittent with no pattern. I can provide a repair invoice next week when I pick up the vehicle from the dealer.

Oct 2024 VISIBILITY/WIPER The screen for the Rear view camera is turning off for couple of seconds during the reversing of the car. During that time there is no visibility in the rear of the car and can cause an colossion.

Oct 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving on busy highway the warning of the collision sensor and emergency brake sensors goes off, reduces speed tremendously while driving and never goes off. When this happened to me I was over miles from home stranded and had to drive under 30 mph to make it to an exit for safety and call a tow truck.

Oct 2024 STRUCTURE My back window exploded. I was just driving and the whole thing shattered. Thought I was shot with a gun but after the cops came they checked my car and found out this exploding window is common with the newer Nissan Rogues. I have the incident on dash cam too. I now have to pay $500 for my deductible to fix the window since Nissan won’t take responsibility. My car is being repaired tomorrow. I do have a police report number but I can’t move onto the next page without the report so I’m stating “no” but the answer is “yes”.

Oct 2024 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE Major engine problems. The engine has loud knocking noise. While driving the car it shakes badly. When the hood is open you can see the engine jumping and it’s not properly secured. The engine can fall out causing a safety hazard and accident. Vehicle is not safe to drive. When driving the car loses speed immediately going over 55 mph.

Oct 2024 STRUCTURE Nissan put faulty roof rack seals on my vehicle. This is the same issue as they had in 2021 when they issued a service bulletin. They are willing to fix the roof rack seals but not replace the headliner. This has caused an unhealthy musty smell in the cabin and a big stain on the headliner and A-Pillars. Nissan corporate will not cover the cost of a new headliner and A-Pillars but can’t guarantee a stain free headliner to pre-stain condition

Oct 2024 ENGINE Our 2023 Nissan Rogue with only 15,000 miles suffered complete engine failure (engine seized) driving on busy [XXX] passing through Baltimore. The safety of myself and my family was put at risk, and if we hadn't been in the left lane (allowing rapid access to the breakdown lane) we would have been in a multi-car pile-up going at high speeds. Afterward, my safety was at risk waiting for 5h on the busy highway waiting for a tow truck. There was a slightly rough engine sound just 15-30 minutes prior to the engine seizure, but no warning messages. The only message that appeared was "Engine Failure" at the moment the engine seized. The car was towed to the local Firestone Service station where they confirmed engine seizure with normal oil levels. We do not know if the oil had been compromised by infusion of gasoline (as we have now discovered is a problem with the Nissan Rogue engine). The car was subsequently towed to Bob Bell Nissan in Baltimore, and they have yet to inform us of their conclusions after 5 days. Route 9 Nissan in Westborough (where we bought the care) did not inform us that this was a potential problem nor that it is under investigation by the NHTSA. Oct 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Just sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle and the rear window exploded. Nothing touched it, nothing hit or bumped it. It just shattered. The car was parked as I had just gotten into it less than a minute prior. Only the driver's door was opened and shut for me to get into the vehicle prior to this incident. The hatch was not opened or closed directly prior to the back glass exploding. Upon doing a simple Google search, I am finding that it has happened to other people as well with these vehicles.

Oct 2024 ENGINE engine "spun a bearing" while driving on highway, car began shaking and was very unresponsive. This is the 1.5l, turbo 3 cylinder engine that appears to have had reported issues before. Would like to have documented in case of future recall or class action lawsuit.

Oct 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Driving on street when second row, passenger window literally exploded. No other cars near by, no impact of any kind…it simply exploded as if it were shot at. I actually called police and they said this did not happen. There are MANY reports on internet of similar occurrences to other people. Nissan accepts no responsibility.

Sep 2024 ENGINE I purchased the car used 3 weeks ago, still under full Nissan Warranty. 10 days ago, while driving, unexpectedly, engine started knocking loudly and then shut down. My granddaughter was driving, and was unable to restart. The Nissan dealer had performed a "health check" of the car a week prior and noted no concerns. And the dealer who sold me the car did the same, before selling it to me. Car was towed to the Nissan dealership. The engine is completely blown and there were metal chips in the oil pan. The Nissan dealership is awaiting authorization from Nissan to replace the engine and any other system impacted. It's going to take weeks to repair.

Sep 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The rear windshield of my Nissan Rogue exploded out. The car was off and parked. While I was drive, prior to incident, I had the defroster on. After I heard the loud “pop” sound, I walked over to car and heard the glass sizzling! There was a huge hole and some small holes, as well as cracks along the edge of the entire rear windshield.

Aug 2024 POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE At 8:00 PM, driving 70 MPH on [XXX] from Dallas to Houston, Texas, multiple warning lights and messages illuminated on the dash. Other than a low fuel warning, there were no other warnings or messages at the time of the incident. The warnings and messages displayed were "AWD Error", AEB system OFF, RAB system OFF, slip indicator or VDC OFF, master warning light, and "Engine Malfunction Power reduced Service now." When this occurred, the vehicle began decelerating, and I was unable to accelerate and return to highway speeds. I was driving in the left lane and had to make my way to the shoulder on the right of the highway. Fortunately, I came to a stop approximately two miles from the [XXX] exit for Centerville, Texas. It would have been extremely dangerous to remain on the shoulder, especially after sunset, so after reading the owner's manual, I decided to travel the shoulder at the very reduced speed my vehicle allowed. After exiting to a safe location and refueling, I called 24/7 Nissan roadside assistance at 8:50 PM. I was told a tow truck would arrive around 10:20 PM, and I would receive text messages with status updates. I called three more times, at 9:32, 11:28, and 11:54 PM. I never received a text message because no towing providers were ever located and dispatched to my location. On the final call at 11:54, I was told they would try again at 8:00 AM. Centerville, Texas is a small town with a population under 1,000 people. I was left stranded nearly 150 miles from home in a non-major metropolitan city without ample resources such as uber to take me to the nearest hotel. Furthermore, had I not called back, no one from Nissan was going to inform me that I would not receive a tow. Aug 2024 ENGINE The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, there was white smoke entering inside the cabin of the vehicle from the exhaust pipes. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the roadway and exited the vehicle safely. In addition, the vehicle would not crank or restart. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,850.

Jul 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My forward collision sensor/alert disables after driving 2-3 miles. This problem began at 5500 miles and reoccurs every time driven. I visited the dealership who explained this is a known issue and there is no fix yet available. Nissan will likely issue a recall once the issue is fixed. The technician explained the issue could be a sensor issue or a software issue with this model.

Jun 2024 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving at highway speeds, either in cruise control mode or not I get a sound notification and my dashboard shows a Malfunction message and all safety features have become disabled including cruise control. This has occurred at 389 miles, 3223 miles, 4835 miles, 5047 miles, 6860 miles and 8319 miles. Each time I brought it back to the Nissan dealer. They replaced camera assy-lane keep at 7487 miles and distance sensor at 8727 miles. I feel that I am at risk in that it happens at highway speeds (60-70) mph and suddenly cruise control and forward collision warning become disabled. This occurred on Oct. 24, 2023, Jan. 21, Feb 28, Feb 29, April 3 and June 2 of 2024
