Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Please note that I am a Deaf customer. My primary language is American Sign Language (ASL) and English written is my secondary language. Thank you for understanding. I just bought a 2023 Honda Ridgeline on June 6th, 2023. The "Auto Engine Idle Stop System Problem" error message in the dash has been the problem and appeared many times. I sent it back to the dealership, which was the third time, and the power window master switch was replaced on July 19th, 2023, but it still has not been resolved yet. I made an appointment with the dealership on Monday, July 31st, 2023, which will be 4th attempt. I am tired of it. It is very annoying. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your assistance with this matter.

Jun 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The component I will be writing about is the front, passenger door locking feature (interior side). I have taken my vehicle to the Honda dealership for inspection. I have also checked New Honda Ridgelines on the lot and found this same locking feature doesn't work the same in each vehicle. This means, in my opinion, that this issue is coming right out of the factory. This problem is easily reproduced. So here is the problem and is only affected on the passenger front door (interior side). The driver's side front door locking feature works without issue. When after manually locking the front passenger door by sliding and pushing in the lock, you are able to open the door by using the interior door handle without issue. The problem is when you use the POWER lock button on either side of the vehicle to lock all the doors. On the driver's side, you can open the door using the handle without issue. On the front passenger side, when pulling the handle ( to open the door), the handle moves a bit, then is physically stopped by something inside the door causing you to be UNABLE to open the door. In addition to this, you cannot slide the lock to the open position so that you can open the door. So if you used the power button to lock the doors, then got in an accident and the power was disabled, you could be trapped on the passenger side and would really be a problem if a fire had started. The dealership loaned me a 2022 Honda Pilot, and it has the same issue as my truck.

Apr 2023 EQUIPMENT I purchased a rear pickup cover. I used it without problems. I took the top off and stored it in my garage. When I put it back on, I noticed nothing wrong. When I went to open the cover to put garbage bags in the rear bed, I found the first part of the tri-top did not open correctly. I took it to 2 dealers when I was told the cover could not be repaired and there were no replacement parts. I have contacted Honds USA and they refuse to do anything about this $1000 part. I want my top replaced. This was a new top, not a used one.

Feb 2023 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Automatic high beams don’t work fluidly. This is a safety issue because they are sensitive to the point where it seems you are “high beaming” oncoming traffic. This problem has been confirmed by several legitimate websites and by myself. All components are in working order. There are no warning lamps as this is the way the vehicle was intended to operate by the manufacturer. Honda let it slip past and it should not have. This problem needs further review by NHTSA for safety purposes. Thanks

Jan 2023 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Auto high beam headlights do not function properly. The high beams will turn on or will not turn off high beams when approaching another vehicle. High beams will turn off when the system sees another light source, such as a pole light, several hundred feet off the road. High beams will also turn on and off for no apparent reason.

Nov 2022 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Auto high beams do not work properly. When using they do not work as intended and cause an extreme danger for visibility. I nearly hit a deer at highway speeds due to failure to operate when should have been in high beam. Also they go on and off causing blinding to oncoming traffic. This is a well known problem documented by numerous honda Ridgeline owners. It needs to be fixed before more people are injured or killed as a result.

Oct 2022 EXTERIOR LIGHTING The auto headlights have not worked at all since we have owned this vehicle. I have followed the instructions to the letter to setup the auto headlight function up. Frustrated, vehicle was taken to dealer and they acknowledge a problem as they cannot fix it until Honda issues a repair solution. The truck has 560 miles on it. Problematic headlights are a real concern at night
