| Feb 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the instrument cluster darkened and became inoperable. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact researched and was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V019000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 43,740. | Crash: No Fire: No | 43,740 |
| Feb 2025 | SUSPENSION,POWER TRAIN | The cv joint axles are failing. No axles on a new car or truck should EVER fail under 100k miles. Ford maverick axles are failing at under 50k miles. And mine failed at 22k miles. And Ford will only replace 1 at a time. Not only is this a manufacturer defect that can cause accidents or injury but Ford needs to yet again be held accountable. No one pays good money for a factory faulty vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | POWER TRAIN | I am experiencing a serious safety issue with my 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid, which involves powertrain malfunction and sudden loss of power while driving. The issue first appeared on [XXX], when I received a Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power warning in the FordPass app and noticed that the vehicle was losing power intermittently. Since then, I have taken my vehicle to the dealership three times for diagnostics and repairs, but the issue persists. Service history and failed repair attempts: [XXX] – I visited Folsom Lake Ford to address this issue, but the dealer claimed the vehicle was “operating normally.” [XXX] – I took my car to Future Ford of Sacramento, requesting diagnostics and repairs for the transmission. The dealership replaced the CV axles but did not acknowledge or resolve the powertrain issue. [XXX] – The same error occurred again, and I returned to Future Ford of Sacramento. The dealer once again failed to find or fix the problem. [XXX] – Hours after picking up the car, the Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power error reappeared in FordPass. Possible Link to Known Ford Maverick Issues: Ford has already issued recalls for similar problems affecting Ford Maverick (2022–2023) and Bronco Sport models related to 12V battery failures that cause power loss. However, my VIN is not included in any official recall, despite showing the same symptoms. This issue is extremely dangerous, as the vehicle unexpectedly loses power while driving, creating a serious risk of an accident, especially on highways. Suspected Fraud by the Dealer: Despite multiple service visits, the dealership has not provided a detailed diagnostic report. I suspect the dealer is simply resetting the error codes instead of fixing the problem. Investigate whether this is a widespread issue among 2023 Ford Maverick models. Determine if Ford should issue a recall for this powertrain problem. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | When having the vehicle in reverse, the rear-camera’s image oftentimes freezes for several moments which causes unreal expectations of what is actually in the rear and how close objects actually are. This has caused fear to my wife, and she prefers not to drive the vehicle in part due to this unresolved issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Camera freezes when I'm in reverse. Backed up in to a telephone pole last year and had several thousand dollars in damage. Paid the deductible, my rates went up and my cars value went down. Was backing out of parking space yesterday and almost hit a small child when it froze again. Ford needs to fix this issue that they have known about for ahwile. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |

| Feb 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | This morning while driving to work, I lost acceleration power. I was driving to work at the speed limit of 65 mph. The car started to slow down and I could not get any acceleration when stepping on the gas pedal. I was very lucky that traffic was light and able to coast over to a shoulder of the highway. I called roadside assistance and had it towed to local dealer. Awaiting to hear what the problem is. Feel very uncomfortable at this point. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Feb 2025 | SEATS | Cracked seam on the crossmember supporting the driver seat. While investigating a squeaking seat. I discovered a hairline crack in the metal that is under the cloth driver seat. Upon further investigation, I discovered that when pressure is applied to the seat, a bigger crack appears where a cross member is joined under the seat. This is causing the seat to flex more than usual putting more friction on the plastic mounts causing the squeaking sound. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2025 | LANE DEPARTURE,BACK OVER PREVENTION | Both the Blind Spot and Cross Traffic warning systems work erratically or not at all. Even after software update and reset. Cross traffic will sense a small car then ignore the bus next? Same with Blind Spot very inconsistent or not functional! Dealer is less than helpful. Any trip to the dealer means leaving your vehicle with them all day so they can put off working on it until the last minute. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Feb 2025 | SUSPENSION | First time i noticed an issue was [XXX] felt vibration and took to Freeport Ford, Freeport, IL 61030. They took for a test drive and noticed nothing. I returned to Freeport Ford on 01/30/25 for the same issue, violent shaking when accelerating worse on an incline..They told me it was tires and that the 2 fronts had to be replaced 4/32 tread at this point they placed the 2 good rear tires on the front which didn't change a thing, I ordered 2 new tires, and on 01/31/25 took to a Chevrolet dealer in Freeport (friend of mine), they diagnosed that i had 2 faulty CV axles, i let Freeport Ford know of this diagnosis. New tires were installed 02/04/25 on the rear, still didn't change a thing, i told them I had checked the Maverick Forums and found out several complaints about faulty CV axles prematurely failing, at this point they stated they have ordered me a new set of axles, and let me drive out of the dealership on those faulty axles..Now playing the waiting game to see if axles come in first or if a catastrophic axles failure occurs first. Definitely not happy with Ford at this point and believe this needs to be a recall at this time due to all the complaints. Thank you, [XXX] 02/04/25 4:35p.m. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Two problems 1. Auto Start/Stop feature 2. Pre-Collision Assist (1) Auto Start/Stop feature- unpredictable.. 1. My engine turns off at busy intersection for red light with a vehicle coming in fast from behind, I hit gas to move forward . My truck revs hard from starting with foot on gas and darts forward. Almost went into cross traffic. 2. There is a current recall on Maverick batteries. Numerous complaints on the Facebook Ford Maverick of vehicle shutting off for auto-stop, but not starting in traffic conditions due to the battery. Fact - any electrical or computer problem and your vehicle is now stranded in an intersection. The Maverick has several electrical recalls. 3. I have timed my Vehicle Restart response on camera. It takes approx 1 more second for my vehicle engine to re-start and advance forward. For many accidents 1 second is the difference of life and death. 4. When I stop to put the vehicle in reverse, it will auto-stop while I am shifting. My vehicle is now sitting in the road, until I hit reverse and no brake, then "jumps" backwards in reverse. 5. The feature cannot be turned off permanently- it must be turned off manually for every trip. Summary - I have sent these concerns to Ford. They will not provide a way to turn off this feature. Only option is to pay a mechanic to disable it with an aftermarket product, which could of course, damage something else. (2) Front Collision Warning System - Has gone off three times for no valid reason. One time simply passing an oncoming vehicle 2 times passing police vehicles on the side of the road with flashing lights. I have lowered it's alert level to low and seems to help. But clearly, Emergency lights setting off a system that takes some control of stirring and braking is a concern. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | BACK OVER PREVENTION | The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that while reversing, the back over prevention camera display failed to function as intended. The contact stated that the back over prevention camera display screen had frozen. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was advised that a diagnostic test fee was required. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V684000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,939. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | 14,939 |
| Jan 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Last visit was 1/13/25. I am having constant 12 volt battery issues. I have been to Autonation Ford in Memphis 3 times. They take the battery out of my truck put it on a machine and charge it and tell me my bettery is fine every time. My truck will start and run fine for 2 or 3 weeks then i will have starting issues or battery saver issues. I cannot safely leave my house without a jumpstarter because this bad battery is in my truck. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING | The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the taillight detached from the taillight housing. The contact stated that the taillights were set a quarter of an inch away from the housing and when the vehicle was driven over a bump, the taillights detached from the housing. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under recall repair or special program. The vehicle was not repaired or inspected by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and two cases were filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 200. | Crash: No Fire: No | 200 |
| Jan 2025 | ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated the check warning engine light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve sensor had failed. The sensor inside the valve failed due to condensation getting into the valve and short-circuiting the sensor. The EGR valve sensor had been replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 44,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 44,000 |
| Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Possibly software. Vehicle door latch will not release on any of 4 doors. Tried fob and manual key. I am locked out of vehicle. A serious safety issue would arise if I were locked in the vehicle, especially in an accident. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The CV axles have failed and cause my truck to shaking when accelerating. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Car was shuddering and vibrating on acceleration brought to dealership and was told I needed front axles with 16k on odometer . It took over a month to get parts and the dealership was kind enough to give me a car while Parts came in. These new parts are Likely also faulty as the vibrations are starting again under acceleration .The car now has 29k I will be bringing the car in again soon for other recalls and repair but this shouldn’t be happening . Heaven knows what other damage is being done . We need a part redesign and a recall asap . Thanks | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
