| Aug 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | 1.The carpet around the floor mats on the driver’s side is becoming loose. On inspection from the dealership, the carpet was cut too short when the manufacturer assembled the vehicle. 2.At this rate, if the integrity of the carpet continues failing, it may cause instability around the acceleration and braking pedals leading to sudden and unintentional acceleration or braking. 3.Yes, by local dealership see video. 4.Yes, by local dealership see video. 5.Prior to the carpet beginning to detach, no. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2024 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Occasionally engine revs up while braking. The most incident was when braking for a stop sign. I took my foot off the accelerator and depressed the brake pedal. The engine speed increased and I had to step harder on the brake. Briefly a message appeared warning the brake and accelerator pedals were both depressed. I looked down and I could see nothing was touching the accelerator peddle. My foot was clearly only on the brake. This has also happened when trying to park, though I did not look at the gas pedal those times. Instead I shifted to neutral an turned of the engine. I have reported this to the dealer several times with no resolution. With the latest report the service manager was "not available" and has not returned phone calls. They claim to have never heard of the problem. By the way, there are no extra mats in the car. The only mat is the one installed by the manufacturer and it is secured by clips. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jun 2023 | SEAT BELTS | The passenger side backseat belt locked, and we could not get the seatbelt to released. My 4 year old became tangled in the seatbelt, and we could not get the seatbelt to release. It only kept becoming tighter around his stomach area. Seatbelt had to be cut with scissors to become released/untangled. I was informed by Carlock Toyota in Tupelo, Mississippi that a safety feature was not in place to release the seatbelt if one became caught in it and it would not release. I was told I would have had to have my child cut out of the seatbelt due to the Toyota camry seatbelt not releasing. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | the car started hesitating when accelerating. The vehicle started to lose power and all the lights came on. Check Engine, Pre-collision warning system malfunction, Vehicle stability control system malfunction. Took my vehicle in and Toyota Dealer said at first they couldn't figure out what was wrong. Then decided to replace the transmission. It has been nearly 2 months and still cant get the parts to fix my car. Excuse is Toyota is backlogged. Help | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Vehicle was taken to the dealer due to AC malfunction. Upon inspection, the AC condenser was found to be damaged by a rock going thru the shield and sticking the line. The manager at the dealership indicated it was not uncommon. I contacted Toyota and the representative also indicated she has heard of similar issues. The matter was assigned to a case manager (Gable). He contacted me about the issue and indicated they would reach out to the dealership. According to the Toyota agent, this type of damage is not uncommon and not covered under bumper to bumper warranty. The case manager admitted he never inspected the vehicle and relied on the dealership for an explanation. I spoke with Gable to inquire if it is a common occurrence, wouldn't it be beneficial to inspect the vehicle himself. If rocks can so easily go thru the shield, what's preventing a rock from possibly hitting the fuel line. This vehicle was bought brand new and maintained on a regular basis. His response was they rely on the dealer's experience and expertise. We live in a metropolitan area and don't go thru gravel roads. Not to exaggerate but if rocks can go thru the shield so easily, maybe the shield isn't providing adequate protection to vehicle components and more importantly the fuel line. I wanted to bring this to your attention so there is a record of this matter having been brought to Toyota's attention. Case managers rely on the dealer for explanations instead of going out on the field to do an inspection themselves. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2023 | POWER TRAIN | Intermittent humming sound at 40MPH or faster at around 8k miles. Dealership said it is a normal sound. Humming sound became louder and happens more often. Brought the car back to the dealership and they confirmed that the humming sound is coming from transmission and needs to be replaced. Toyota Camry 2022 SE at 11k miles needs to have transmission replaced. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Hearing humming noise after 40MPH and after inspection at toyta service the said its an issue with the transmission. Its a brand new car with around 8k mile | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES | I was driving down a steep hill with two curves. Shortly before the first curve near the top of the hill I attempted to decelerate by pressing the brake pedal. There was no response whatsoever. I tried a couple times then realized that I had to do something different. I put the car into neutral and then actually reverse and nothing happened. I didn't hear the engine change or anything. I tried the e-parking brake to no avail. I then tried the power button for a few seconds. All the while hitting the brakes. By this time I was near the first big curve and had to steer. Given the terrain I didn't think I could drive onto a curb. After the second curve I was in the oncoming lane and noted a car coming up the hill towards me. I was able to change lanes and pump the brakes once or twice more as I got to the bottom of the hill at a high rate of speed. I plowed through the T Intersection and through a guardrail overlooking the a steep drop off to the farmland below and a ditch. Evidently I rolled the car at least once before coming to a stop and notifying emergency responders. The car is currently at the USAA lot waiting for an inspection by someone (figuring out who to engage). There was a general warning light on when I started the car shortly before the accident. I assumed it was due to condensation on cameras preventing the rear cross traffic sensors. The light went off when put into drive and I didn't have any other symptoms. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Towed Medical attention | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | TIRES | On November 17, 2022 at approximately 1:30pm the 3 1/2 month brand new 2022 Toyota Camry with approximately 5000 miles was being driven northbound on Interstate 85 in the left lane in dry conditions. Then suddenly a noise was heard and the car began to veer out of control to the left towards the center median and embankment. The car finally came to a stop down the embankment. Upon exiting the vehicle and walking around the car it was noticed that the passenger rear tire sidewall had completely separated from the tread, leaving two distinct and separate pieces of the tire remaining. Those two pieces were the outside side wall and bead as one piece and the second piece was the tread and inside sidewall and bead which was still attached to the wheel. There was also damage to the front nose and rear of the car, wheels and cut on one of the other tires' sidewall. The tire that became separated had no punctures or damage to the inside sidewall as reported by two service technicians at Toyota of Bristol, Tennessee, (See attached note by technician). Two Tennessee Police officers responded, saying we were lucky to survive the accident. There was no prior indication of loss of tire pressure from the TPMS system on the car before this incident, and tire pressures were checked just a few days before on November 14, 2022. That day, the car was repaired by Toyota of Bristol, sufficient to continue our journey home to NY. Upon returning home, we brought the car to the dealership we purchased the car from (Mariano Rivera Toyota) and they provided the attached estimate with damage indicated and part numbers that include, but are not limited to, front bumper, front end covers, suspension control arms, struts, fender liners, front fender, rear quarter panel, rear bumper, wheel damage, roof damage, along with other damages, detailed in the attached estimate. All this damage was caused by a defective tire that had a sidewall separation from the tread resulting in loss of control | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Jan 2023 | TIRES | On interstate a warning goes off for tire pressure. I’m thinking it’s just the temperature no big deal. Could not read entire message until I stopped. Within 30 minutes that tire blew completely off the rim. Was lucky enough to immediately get off side of interstate This is 2 tires that have blown out on me in a car I purchased 13 months ago!!! Ium a single older woman and bought a Toyota to feel safe when I travel. I no longer feel safe with these tires!!!!! Tubeless radial EP4AFZ. Horrible tires for a brand new car | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving on the Highway with no vehicles in sight my sunroof glass shattered falling in on my wife cutting her. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | This is a rental from Enterprise. I was on the highway driving. I had been using the adaptive cruise control, but I braked because there was traffic ahead. I was slowing down reasonably with the flow of traffic and all of a sudden the auto brake went on and slammed the car to a full stop! The pick up truck behind me had to slam his brakes and swerve and came within inches of plowing into me. The jolt threw me forward and terrified me. It was as if I wasn't driving the car- the car did it. So dangerous!!! I called Toyota and they filed a report and said someone would call me. And I called enterprise and they are coming to get the car from me. Absolutely terrifying. Thank goodness no one got hurt or worse. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | AIR BAGS,STRUCTURE,SERVICE BRAKES | I don’t have any incidents | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,BACK OVER PREVENTION | Since the day this brand new car rolled off of the lot, I noticed an issue with the Android Auto usage via the infotainment system. Roughly between 5 and 15 times throughout a 30 minute drive the map will glitch and freeze and so will any music being streamed via android auto. This happens no matter which phone or cable is connected. This is EXTREMELY annoying and distracting to me when driving and frankly inexcusable for a brand new 2022 car with 0 miles on it that i bought 8 months ago and it still does this to this day. Also, the Rear Camera Detection system often fails saying that there is dirt on the camera when there clearly isn't any. Finally the key fob sometimes fails to work. The dealer could not figure out the problem and would not fix it. I would upload the service records and video documentation of these issues, but the files are a bit too large and am having issues uploading them. I would gladly send them to you if provided another way of doing so. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | It is UNKNOWN what was actually causing this, this is my assessment from how my car handled. I was ready to turn from a shopping center lot onto a road with 2 lanes of traffic, both lanes going the same direction. The traffic was heavy but a car left a gap for me to pull out into the lane closest to me. I stepped on the gas but I believe my car detected the cars in the far lane and applied the brakes? limited control of my acceleration? to prevent me from “striking a vehicle in the next lane broadside”. My vehicle rolled partially into the nearest lane but seemed to be fighting my efforts to accelerate and pull fully into my lane. The car that had left a gap for me to pull out had caught up at this point and laid on their horn in irritation. This could have caused an accident as no one in that lane would be expecting stopped traffic. My car continued to barely creep along until I was able to steer the nose around where it was not pointed at the far lane of traffic, then it detected I was “in a clear lane” and allowed me to accelerate. When driving in a high traffic urban area where the street is never completely empty of cars, you do not want your vehicle fighting you for control when you pull out into a break in traffic. My car allowed me to roll out into oncoming traffic and then took away my acceleration! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
