| Dec 2025 | STEERING | Reoccurring steering issue- After having the steering wheel rac & gear box replaced in April 2024 on my 2022 CRV (purchased brand new), the issue is reoccurring in Nov. 2025. . My 2022 CRV steering wheel sticks when driving on the interstate and doesn’t want to turn and is difficult to steer causing me to have to jerk the wheel and nearly wreck my car. The steering wheel also feels loose and spins around and round while at a stop. The steering wheel knocks/pops during a hard turns. Since this a wide spread issue well documented online, I would expect for there to be a recall - but there is not one on my 2022 CRV even though I have experienced the issue twice now. The dealership and Honda Corp is agreeing to pay a large portion of the $3000+ bill but I am still stuck paying nearly $200 for a defect that should be covered fully due to obvious manufacturing defects in the part. The car is 3 years old and has had the steering wheel rac replaced twice! Ridiculous!!! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Nov 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in the parking lot of a strip mall, the contact entered a store and was in the store for approximately five minutes, and a person entered the store yelling and asking if anyone in the store owned a red Honda CR-V parked outside, because the vehicle had rolled away and crashed into a light pole. The contact looked outside and noticed that her vehicle had rolled away and crashed into the light pole on the sidewalk where the vehicle came to a stop. There was no one was inside the vehicle during the failure and no other vehicles were damaged. There were no warning lights illuminated, or messages displayed on the instrument panel before the failure. A Police report was filed. The rear driver’s side quarter panel, rear bumper, rear taillight, the muffler and rear door were damaged. The contact stated that there was a recall related to the hybrid version of the vehicle for a possible rollaway failure; however, her vehicle was not a hybrid model. The vehicle was driven to a Collision Center. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The insurance company was informed of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,046. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | 28,046 |
| Nov 2025 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | 10/8/2025 The steering wheel was sticking.Honda mechanic said it was the left drive shaft. They ordered part and said would be a 2 hour repair. 10/16/2025 Took vehicle back into shop for repair at 10:30 a,m. Vehicle not ready until 5:15p.m. We drove out and steering wheel still sticking. Went back manager drove it and said might be some part that needs greasing but he would check with the Honda corporation. and get back to us. 10/23/2025 Service advisor called us and said it was the power steering rack.Repair bill would be 4400.00. 10/27/2025 We talked to service advisor to see who manager talked to regarding this repair. Service advisor said manager would call us on 10/28/2025. We did not receive a call and did not receive a call on 10/20/2025. 10/30/2025 We filed a complaint with Honda corporation. our vehicle is available for inspection. What we have read about this kind of recall is that steering wheel could permanently stick possibly causing an accident. The fact the manager said it was the power steering rack has not been confirmed . Some Hondas have been recalled for the power steering rack. Vehicle has not been inspected by any dealer or mechanic. This sticking issue started about 9/1/2025..There were no warning lamps or messages. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | STEERING | When driving, there is a popping noise and the steering wheel is very sticky. Not all the time and more noticeable at lower speeds. Sometimes I have to slightly jerk the wheel to get it to respond. This does not seem safe. I took it to my local Honda dealer who said I needed a steering rack replacement and that I should contact Honda Corp. because that shouldn't happen in a 2022 CRV. There is a similar recall for other year models but not the 2022. Honda agreed to only pay a small portion (less than 25%) of the cost but the rest is on me. Issue began couple weeks after my 3 year warranty was up. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My wife reported that as she was making a right turn, driving home in the rain, the radio screen slowly faded to black and then the dashboard went black as well. There was a loss of power but the car did not turn off. The vehicle is a hybrid and it appears that the car was running using the battery as after a short distance the radio screen and dashboard both came on. She does not know if the check engine came on. This is the first time this has happened. If it happens again then I will take the car to the dealership and have it checked out. I am reporting this as it seems that others have had similar issues but so far a common cause has not been found. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving at a normal speed (55mph) on I-5 north in Bellingham, WA when the sunroof on my Honda CR-V imploded. It sounded like a very loud gunshot. The shock of the incident startled my passenger and I and I immediately began looking her over to see if there was any blood. I looked up and saw very small shards of glass falling through the sunroof and a large hole. It was fortunate those shards did not cause damage. I immediately closed the sunroof and exited the highway. There were no rocks in the car, very little glass entered the car and a large hole was in the sunroof. The dealer did not believe it was due to a glass defect, he felt that something large had hit the car. This was not possible- we were on a clear highway and there was no sign of anything in the car or on the sunroof that would explaijn the damage. I do not want other people to have this experience- it is frightening and could lead to accidents. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On three separate occasions my automatic brakes designed to avoid a collision have engaged while I was driving highway speed with no vehicle or obstruction I'm front of my car. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The above would not let me check ALL of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me back out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! It’s resulted in me being stranded and the car inoperable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | While driving on a straight road at 35 mph the car suddenly and aggressively applied the brakes without driver input and without another car or obstacle in front of the car. Had there been a car behind me a rear collision would have been likely. The weather was sunny and there were deep shadows of trees cast on the road. This is the fourth time this has happened the past year. This is my first report to NHTSA. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Driving in mild foggy conditions, going 44 mph. My CRV dash had the BRAKE warning flashing and locked up my brakes. There was nothing in front of me do cause this. There was a car behind me that could of hit me. Everything in my car flew off the seats and it jarred my neck and back. My lowered back has been hurting and I am seriously concerned for my safety in this vehcle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING | The steering sticks and makes a noise intermittently when turning the steering wheel. You cannot count on a smooth turn when turning. The dealership verified this and said the steering gear had to be replaced. While there are countless Honda CRV complaints about this, on several model years, including mine ,and a recall on some of the VIN's, my VIN was not included. Honda recall would not help with this issue. Had to pay to have the dealership replace the steering gear, at a "discounted rate of $1444.25. My vehicle only has 19, 497 miles on it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The automatic braking system is repeatedly braking inappropriately, with nothing in front of us or in the road. We have not gotten into an accident yet but have come close twice. The Honda dealership in Elk Grove, CA acted like this was normal and it “could be a leaf or pebble” and there’s nothing they can fix because it’s normal. This is not normal. It’s dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | STEERING | The steering seems to get a sticky feel after driving for a while. The steering wheel will get a sticky feel while a slight turn in the road and it will happen either turning left or right. Then on the highway it seems to happen so you can't keep the car going straight. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V. While the contact's husband was driving at 10 MPH, the brakes independently engaged. There were no warning lights illuminated. In addition, the seat belts tightened up. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had previously occurred while the contact was driving. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,735. | Crash: No Fire: No | 17,735 |
| Sep 2025 | STEERING | The steering sticks while driving and turning. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I am writing to formally report a serious safety incident involving my [2022 Honda CRV], which is currently under warranty. On [XXX], while my wife was driving along the [XXX] from Soldotna to Anchorage, Alaska, the sunroof of my vehicle spontaneously exploded without any external impact or provocation. At the time of the incident: The temperature was approximately 65°F, eliminating thermal stress as a factor. There were no other vehicles nearby and no overhead obstructions. A Thule rooftop cargo carrier was mounted above the sunroof, providing a physical barrier that would have prevented any object from striking the glass. The vehicle has fewer than 30,000 miles and is less than three years old, qualifying it for coverage under Honda’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The explosion resulted in shattered glass raining into the top, creating a hazardous situation while driving. This incident appears consistent with other reports and complaints involving spontaneous sunroof explosions in Honda vehicles, some of which have led to legal action and consumer s INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving at 10am today on a local road, about 35mph, with no car in front of me, nor behind me. I was the only car in the area. Suddenly both the automatic emergency braking (AEB) system and the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) were activated. I was concerned when it happened, not knowing if the car would come to a stop. I called my local Honda Dealer Service Department, asking if they could check it out. He said they could take it for a test drive to see if it would happen again. Since this was the only time it happened we agreed to wait to see if it happens again before bringing it in. Once home I searched the NHTSA database and discovered similar instances, and an open Investigation, EA24002. I wanted to be sure to add my incident to the others to help in finding a resolution. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Aug 2025 | STEERING | While driving the car i get a sticky steering sensation which requires additonal force to steer the vehicle. Also, while car is stationary and when i try to steer the vehicle completely left or right, i get the noise of clicking. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2025 | STEERING | At low speeds and at high speeds steering feels sticky not fluid. Sometimes it feels like I have to tug a bit to move the steering wheel. On a long trip this gets to be a nuisance and I feel it makes me overcorrect when steering. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I had 2 occasions in one day where my car did a phantom brake. It was unexpected and got me concerned and nervous. No orher car in front of me to cause this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | STEERING | Steering wheel is making a sticking noise. This could become very dangerous. My dealer says my rack and pinion needs to be replaced at a cost of $4,000 The vehicle component has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were and are no signs or warnings of the issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | STEERING | The steering on my vehicle gets stuck while driving. There is resistance to turning the steering wheel. This is much worse when the AC is running. Honda looked at my car last year and said they did not detect the problem. I know it is real though as I have since seen that many 2022 CRVs have been recalled for this problem. My VIN however was not included so I guess safety is not a priority for Honda. Disappointing. I will not buy another car from Honda. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2025 | TIRES | The contact owns a 2022 Honda CR-V equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: TrueContact, Tire Size: 235/60/R18, DOT Number: 1P50FBL0K3024. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, there was a blowout of the rear passenger’s side tire. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the sidewall of the tire had failed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The tire was a replacement tire. The vehicle failure mileage was 58,000 and the tire failure mileage was 5,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 58,000 |
