Mar 2025 ENGINE Started my truck and the motor started knocking. Had it towed to the dealership and they said the motor was blown. Luckily I was in the parking lot at work when this happened. If the motor had blown while I was driving either to or from work on the interstate I could have wrecked. There were no warnings prior to the motor blowing up.

Mar 2025 ENGINE Was driving down the main highway in town when the truck suddenly shut off. No lights, no warning. Had the truck towed to the dealership and called my insurance company as I had recently had the fenders and hood repaired after having a fender bender in my front yard. The insurance company looked at the truck and inspected the motor and told me the motor had locked up. They said this was a common issue with the motor for my truck and they wrote a report about it. I emailed the CEO of GMC and requested help since my truck was just over the mileage that warranty would cover. Her assistant contacted me and agreed to check out the vehicle, investigate and determine a cause and see if they can supply assistance. After 6 months of investigating, they determined the crankshaft broke, but also told me the valves was a major contributor to that cause. They offered to discount the cost of a replacement motor. I declined, so they discounted it further. I declined again and they offered me one final offer of $7500 before tax for a motor and install. I had a quote from another local company for $6000 and told them no again. Her assistant said they could no further help me. I have the documents from my insurance when they investigated and I have the emails I sent but only 1 response from them. The rest of the communications was over the phone. It’s been a year and half and I still don’t have a running truck, but I have a 800 a month truck payment that I have to pay.

Mar 2025 POWER TRAIN I suddenly lost all power in my pickup. I'd try to accelerate and it would just lag and then all of a sudden it would gain power and take off. It wouldn't shift gears and I could not go over 30 mph, as it was running at about 2-3000 rpm. Once I was in a safe spot to stop, it would not shift into manual or reverse.

Mar 2025 POWER TRAIN 03/08/2025 While at Interstate speed engine turned off as did the entire vehicle electrical system in the truck. Steering control was maintained (though not power assisted) and brake control was in the same position. Truck was brought to a safe position in the breakdown lane and a re start was attempted to find that engine would not rotate and a number of dash indications were displayed including check engine. No indication of low oil pressure light nor any other warning was displayed prior engine shutdown event were noted. Truck was taken to an independent repair center for evaluation. Initial inspection noted that engine would neither turn via electric starter nor by manual rotation of crank shaft with a socket and breaker bar. Truck may be inspected near owners residence. Safety risk was low due to the low traffic condition of the interstate travelled at the time.

Mar 2025 POWER TRAIN The transmission on this vehicle has given me problems. I have had the vehicle in a certified garage many times with complaints of a hard shifting transmission. First Chevrolet told me “it’s normal” but there is nothing normal about jerking so hard it throws a drink from a cup holder. Then I was told I needed a transmission wash. That was about $500 for it to “fix” the problem. Chevrolet told me the transmission was may or may not work and it may only be temporary. In my case it has reduced the hard shifting transmission but it’s still obvious. Now when I drive I remove my foot from the accelerator when it shifts from 1st to 2nd. I also make sure to keep a spill proof lid on my coffee because I never know when the transmission may throw it out of the cup holder.

Mar 2025 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Truck has had multiple "service emmision system" errors which can leave the driver stranded and left in traffic as the truck goes into limp mode and won't maintain speed with traffic flow. There are electrical glitches and issues with the circuits and heating elements themselves and in the pump... as soon as there is an error in the system... which has happened 3 times now in 104k miles (~80, 103k and 104k)... the truck is rendered useless and stuck in traffic. Emmisions system needs to be covered for the life of the vehicle if it is going to have non stop issues.

Mar 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM During the first approximately 10 minutes of most drives, the vehicles speaker systems intermittently cuts in and out. This includes the turn signal audio and seatbelt chimes. It does not happen on every drive, I would estimate that about 2 out of 3 drives this issue occurs. All sound will cut out for about a half a second up to 2 seconds. After I begin the drive this issue will go away usually within 10 minutes however sometimes it is quicker than that. I have not taken the vehicle to be looked at due to others stating the dealer has no fix for the issue at this time. The turn signal and seatbelt chime cutting out can create confusion and may cause occupants to forget to buckle their seatbelt. No warning lights or messages have appeared in relation to this issue

The contact attempted to start the vehicle again, but the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with engine failure due to coolant mixing with the engine oil. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. Feb 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Hi, I was driving on the turnpike and my radio volume went to full volume 100% by itself. The radio would not shut off and none of the controls would work, everything froze. I kept turning the volume button down and the volume bar on the screen showed that it was trying to minimize, but it wouldn't stay. It kept going to full volume. Finally, after I kept pushing the off and mute buttons, the radio shut off and was unresponsive. When I reached my destination and shut the truck off and restarted it, the radio then worked as it normally should. This happened to me yesterday, and I'm still having trouble hearing and my ears hurt. I researched this online and found that there are many other people that had this same scenario with their sierra. I wanted to reach out and report this. Thank you Steve Janosco
