| Jun 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Lost acceleration Car died while driving on highway , On 6/17 fuel pump was replaced (P1295 found fuel pump would not change speeds as commanded causing the cel due to internal fault) on work order. The fuel pump was replaced on 6/17 and on 6/18 the engine died again on highway after losing acceleration. Trouble starting back up but when it did it just dies again when trying to put into drive. Exact same thing as the initial issue. I suspect there may be a defective fuel pump James Wood chevrolet is the dealership doing the work. The Invoice Number is TCCS887027 with Customer # 319235 on 6/17/22 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Front of gas tank punctured by road debris due to no shielding on the gas tank. The complete contents of the tank emptied onto the highway in under 5 minutes. The same debris also hit the muffler but only scratched it, proving a metal shield would have protected the gas tank. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2022 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Brakes lost all fluid. This resulted in a loss of function for related systems including adaptive cruise control, auto emergency braking. Limited braking capability put my wife and I in danger. The car was less than a week old at the time. The dealer repaired it immediately on Monday morning. Dealer attributed the problem to a loose brake line. The warning lights and e-mail messages came in after the failure. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2022 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | While driving at approximately 45-50 miles per hour, the engine completely failed. An Engine Failure/Failed/Reduced Power alert message appeared on the dash at the time of the event and the car lost all power, losing speed and coming to a stop. The road was curbed on both sides with no available shoulder or median to access leaving the vehicle stranded in the right, eastbound lane with continuous traffic approaching from behind. My safety and the safety of others were at risk as I was on a 45mph, 4 lane road, with vehicles approaching quickly from behind and having to change lanes to go around my vehicle and avoid an accident. This could have been catastrophic if I'd been on an interstate or in many other situations. I discovered an email from OnStar Diagnostics that was time stamped at the very time I experienced the incident, 8:02am. The email states "An issue with the Engine and Transmission System in your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox has been detected. Please service your vehicle immediately." Also, it was only about 25 degrees and I was afraid to stay in the car due to the continuous traffic. I purchased this vehicle 3 days ago on Wed, Feb 23 and it has approximately 200 miles on it. There were no symptoms prior to the incident today. The vehicle is currently at Bill Estes Chevrolet in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be looked at this Monday, Feb 28th. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
