Date Component Summary Severity Mileage
Mar 2026 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER My truck because of the transmission and it's "powertrain" faults; puts itself in low power mode. I can be driving fine, stop for a red light, to turn a corner or before pulling into oncoming traffic leaving a parking lot etc and without warning, no power. It won't go over 5-10 miles an hour. You have to let off the gas and give gas sometimes more than once to get the truck to finally pick up and go. I have almost been hit countless times because I suddenly couldn't get out of the way of oncoming traffic. The dealer has confirmd to me a few times that this is a transmission issue that is sending my powerboost into low power mode. I believe he said the tech that drove it said it was dangerous; but a known issue. Started a few years ago and doesn't happen all the time. Occurs sporadically and lately more and more frequently. Mar 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE Vehicle Information 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost VIN: [XXX] Complaint Description While driving approximately 70 mph on a highway, my 2021 Ford F-150 PowerBoost suddenly displayed a “Stop Safely Now” message and immediately lost propulsion. The engine shut down without warning while I was in active traffic. After the shutdown, the vehicle automatically shifted into park and would not allow me to shift into neutral. This left me unable to move the vehicle out of a live traffic lane. I was forced to shut the vehicle off while still in a dangerous roadway position. This incident created a serious safety hazard, as I was traveling at highway speed and could have been rear-ended due to the sudden loss of power and inability to move the vehicle. This issue appears to match Ford Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-2317, which describes “Stop Safely Now” warnings, no-start conditions, and gateway module (GWM) software faults. This indicates a known defect that can cause sudden loss of propulsion. A claim has already been opened with Ford Motor Company under case number [XXX], and the vehicle is currently at a Ford dealership for diagnosis. At this time, the issue has not been resolved. This failure occurred without warning and presents a significant risk to driver safety and others on the road. Mar 2026 ENGINE We have already filed a report regarding multiple unresolved warranty defects that Ford Motor Company has refused to address for over a year. Among these is a recurring fuel pump failure—an issue that has now occurred multiple times. The most recent incident happened just a couple of weeks ago in the Twin Cities after being told by our dealer that there was not an issue or fix for the fuel pump issue, where the truck stalled in active traffic, creating a situation that could have resulted in serious injury or worse, death! Despite repeated attempts to resolve this matter, Ford’s latest response is unacceptable and has directly led to this additional complaint. We have been told that no action will be taken unless we personally drive this unsafe vehicle to a dealership for inspection. When we made it clear that doing so would put us at risk, we were dismissively told to have it towed if we were unwilling to drive it. Let us be absolutely clear: we will not endanger our lives to accommodate Ford’s refusal to honor its warranty obligations. We are being asked to operate a vehicle with known, unresolved defects that have already proven dangerous. This is not only irresponsible—it is indefensible. If this matter is not addressed immediately and appropriately, we will have no choice but to escalate further.

Mar 2026 POWER TRAIN,ENGINE I’ve had the transmission replaced along with the torque converter when both failed less than a year ago. The transmission AND the torque converter are now doing the same thing it was doing prior to the replacement. The transmission slips in 4th, 7th and 8th gears. The torque converter whines loudly. Ford will not fix the issues with these transmissions without a hefty out of pocket fee. It’s become very well known that all of these 10R80 engines/transmissions are a major problem that ford is not remedying. If this transmission gives out when I’m on the interstate it’s going to cause a major wreck. I live in the mountains, so a bad transmission can quickly turn into a deadly accident. These transmissions need a permanent fix, not for us owners to continue paying thousands of dollars for replacements or rebuilds. This is fords problem.

Mar 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE We left home and only made it about 100 yards. There was not a trailer attached. We had already stopped at a stop sign, then took off again. As we were going up a slight hill giving it a little gas, there was a loud thud and a sudden jolt, and the truck rapidly slowed down. I tried to give it gas to continued and the engine reved up, but our movement stopped. I realized that the emergency brake had engaged for some reason, so I pressed the button to turn it off, then we were able to continue. We haven't had anyone to look at it yet, and we haven't seen a recall yet

Mar 2026 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM In July 2025, i received Ford's Recall Notice stating that is it possible for fuel pressure and flow from the fuel tank to be reduced due to a fuel pump failure- the same condition that caused my breakdown on 11/5/2025 towing the vehicle to the dealer for repair. Because this repair occurred prior to the official recall repair availability, or remedy as is it referred to. The repair cost was deferred to us because there is no official remedy to the recall, and reimbursements are not being entertained until June of 2026.

Mar 2026 POWER TRAIN I put the truck into reverse and tried to back out of my driveway. The truck didn't move for several seconds, then started to move. I brakes, shifted into drive and the truck continued to move backwards. I applied the brakes and the transmission seemed to spin before it moved forward. I drove down the street to the corner. I applied the brakes and the was a shudder and bang as the transmission downshifted from 4th to 3rd. This occurs intermittently over the last 3 months. When I searched online, I learned that these symptoms are consistent with those described in Ford TSB 23-2350. I had an independent mechanic confirm the problem and he noted the fluid was dark. Whrn I spoke to the dealership, they tried to explain the issue was due to the transmission being cold. I'm the original owner of the truck.

Mar 2026 POWER TRAIN Loss of power pulling onto a major highway -- luckily I was able to pull off onto a side street but had I not I could have been rear ended. Vehicle has been at Athens Ford since January 15th -- Ford states on their recall notification that parts are readily available -- they are not. I have been waiting for 2 months to get my vehicle back and have no resolution in sight. Dealer states they have no ETA on parts availability; Ford Customer Service also does not have an update.

Mar 2026 ENGINE The engine system in the 2021 Ford F-150 is malfunctioning due to excessive oil consumption, in the 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. This is leading to no oil registering on the dipstick; the vehicle and its engine remain available for inspection upon request as they are in the owner's possession and have not been disassembled or repaired. This issue puts the safety of the driver, passengers, and other road users at risk by increasing the chances of engine seizure, overheating, or sudden power loss during operation, which could result in loss of vehicle control, especially at high speeds or while towing, potentially causing accidents, breakdowns in traffic, reduced braking efficiency, or even fires from overheated components, though no such incidents have occurred yet. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by technicians at Ford Spitzer in Hartville and Valvoline in North Canton, OH, who documented the oil consumption during service visits, consistent with Ford's diagnostic procedures. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealership, which is in communication with Ford corporate for further guidance on warranty repairs, but no inspections by police, insurance representatives, or other third parties have been reported. The main symptom observed is the consistent lack of oil on the dipstick, technicians documenting the engine is as low as 2-3 quarts, indicative of rapid consumption. No warning lamps or dashboard messages have appeared yet, but they could activate if oil levels become critically low, and the exact onset timeline ties to routine maintenance after several thousand miles.

Mar 2026 EXTERIOR LIGHTING The passenger side day time running light is dimmed drastically and almost not visible anymore on the upright section. After doing research , this seems to be a very common issue and not a cheap repair. Some states day time running lights are mandatory to work to pass inspection. Ford has not acknowledged this issue and/or making profit from changing out the whole headlight assembly to fix. It seems like it is a bad design or low quality product for a supposed safety issue.

Mar 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I am reporting a serious safety issue with my 2021 Ford F-150. This truck has already been subject to multiple recalls, yet the problems have continued. On several occasions while driving, the truck has suddenly shut off without warning, causing a complete loss of power while the vehicle is in motion. This has happened while my family and I were in the vehicle and has nearly resulted in a serious crash. Losing power in traffic without warning creates an extremely dangerous situation and has put my family’s lives at risk. A vehicle shutting off while being driven is a major safety hazard. Despite multiple visits for service and ongoing recall issues, the problem has not been resolved, and the truck continues to fail in a way that could easily lead to a catastrophic accident.
