Apr 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My rear back-up camera suddenly stopped working. The display screen is fine, but no signal is reaching it. No warnings or messages. Worked one minute, not the next. Looking on-line in the forum, it looks like a common failure of the wiring harness at the tailgate.

Mar 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The backup camera suddenly went black. I saw this was a problem that led to a recall on earlier models of the Honda Ridgeline. I was fortunate in that the dealer did get it covered by the warranty department. The confirmed it was a wiring problem.

Mar 2024 VISIBILITY The contact owns a 2020 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated that the driver's side-view mirror was replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V174000(Visibility), however the replacement side-view mirror displayed distorted images. In addition, the measured distance was inaccurate. The contact stated that the recall repair part was a low quality replacement and the images were distorted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the driver's side-view mirror was replaced again. However, the contact stated that the replacement was the same quality and distorted. The failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 39,000.

Feb 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Rear back up camera stopped working. When putting the truck in reverse the video display only shows the yellow grid lines. The camera video is black. I saw on line that this is caused by a faulty wire harness. There’s a you tube video showing where the problem is and how to fix it so this must be a common issue. I followed the instructions from YouTube and I took the tailgate apart and found that the camera wire was broken. I spliced the wire back together and now it works again.

Feb 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My rear camera stopped working. My understanding is that it is a defect in the wiring harness. My rear camera is not useable, and makes backing up very difficult and is a potential hazard.

Feb 2024 VISIBILITY/WIPER I had my driver and passenger side mirrors replaced because of the issued recall. However, the new driver's mirror is now very distorted and causes a fun-house effect. This is a safety issue and it impacts visibility and safe operation of the vehicle while in motion. A quick review of online owner forums reveals this to be a common issue after the original mirror recall was issued. Please get Honda to issue a new recall and replace with adequate, safe mirrors!

All wheel drive system problem 2. Auto engine idle stop system problem 3. charging system problem. I bought the car used last year. Its a 2020 honda ridgeline with only 29k mikes. Jan 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My reverse camera was intermittent approximately 2 months ago. It would occasionally flicker, but then went totally dark with no picture. I took it upon myself to investigate for a loose wire as I know this was an items that was recalled on the 2017-19 models as well. I did find a severed wire, which leads me to believe that the same issues that forced a recall on the previous models is also affecting my 2020 Ridgeline. The absence of the backup camera makes backing out of parking space or the potential for colliding with other cars or pedestrians a very real concern.
Incident: Dec 2023

Jan 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Rear view camera wiring harness broken. Recalls on 2017 to 2019. My truck is built in 1-20 and is out of warranty. Same issue as with previous Ridgeline harness. Safety issues with no backup. Dealer refuses to do anything about it as it is not in current recall and it's out of warranty.

Jan 2024 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM The vehicle auto stop start function failed causing the vehicle to stall. Recall for previous known issue with this system has been performed. Vehicle has a brand new battery installed by Honda service at a Honda dealership. When outside temperature is below 10 degrees Fahrenheit intermittently at a stop where the vehicle auto stop start engages and stops the engine the system fails to restart. Warning in panel states to press brake and push start button to restart vehicle. Vehicle stalled and was immobile at intersection until driver restarted vehicle manually.

Jan 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Rear camera stopped working about six weeks ago. It does work intermittently when the tailgate is down. Dealer claimed I need new camera and harness, approaching $1,000! Independent repair shop confirmed it is just the harness. My understanding is that 2017-2019 models are under recall for the harness safety defect. Please extend this recall to the 2020 model year!!!

Jan 2024 VISIBILITY/WIPER Honda Ridgeline model year 2020. Rear view camera intermittently not working. Issue can be temporally resolved by opening the tailgate in one of the two ways (flip down or swing out) Diagnosed by dealer as requiring a tailgate harness replacement. This appears to be same/similar to the 2017-2019 recall KCK 2017-19. (Honda service bulletin 22-049)
Incident: Dec 2023
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Jan 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The backup camera display is sometimes black. This is an intermittent problem that seems to stem from a poor connection. Manipulating the wiring leading from the tailgate can restore the camera's operation. This wiring is routed in such a wear that it seems prone to mechanical wear over time leading to a poor connection.

Dec 2023 EXTERIOR LIGHTING Auto dimming/high beam feature flickers on and off intermittently at night without little relation to oncoming vehicles or dark highways. I have asked my local dealer twice to repair this problem, with no resolution. (see attached invoices). I also opened case with the manufacturer (Honda), and they declined to address my issue. I believe this is a safety issue because it is distracting to me and oncoming drivers.

Dec 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY/WIPER My Ridgeline was at the Honda dealer for a recall on both left and right exterior mirrors. (Glass only) Both were replaced. After leaving the dealer, the drivers side mirror image appeared wavy and distorted. It was difficult to focus on the image while driving rendering the mirror almost useless. The passenger side appears perfect. How can a replacement drivers side mirror installed due to a recall be worse than the recalled unit it replaced? Frustrating.

Nov 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER The rear camera on my 2020 Honda Ridgeline has failed. The dealership identifies the wiring harness "showing wires" and has ordered a replacement. Right now I'm unable to see anything behind the vehicle. Only a Honda dealer has confirmed the problem. For a few weeks the problem would come and go but now only an abbreviated "ladder" like diagram shows up when putting the vehicle in reverse. No live picture. The truck has less than 25000 miles and never used commercially.

Oct 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The contact owns a 2020 Honda Ridgeline. The contact stated while stopped, the automatic STOP/START feature intermittently failed to operate as needed after the vehicle had shut off. The contact stated that the vehicle would independently shift to neutral(N) during the failure. The contact called the dealer and was asked to bring the vehicle in for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000. The VIN was not available.
