| Jul 2025 | ENGINE | For the last year or so my car keeps making this really loud noise and it gets worse within hours/days. We have had it in 3 maybe even 4 different shops to have an exhaust fixed. One shop said that a part of it was never secured like it should have been and they fixed it. Every time we have had it fixed it does it again within a couple weeks/month. I did some research and saw a bunch of people are having the same issue with theirs. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jun 2025 | POWER TRAIN,AIR BAGS | Purchased the vehicle in 2024, the vehicle recently has been notifying “shift to park” when vehicle is on park and ignition is turned off, the notification stays on and alerting, so I am unable to leave the vehicle. I must turn the vehicle on and off again, while moving the shifting lever back and forth from drive to park, this must be done a minimum of four times before it reads the lever in park position. It’s a safety hazard because, the vehicle cannot be left on shift to park and possibly roll away or drive/excel on its own. Vehicle has not been inspected at this time, when purchasing the vehicle in 2024, car fax report did not indicate any issue with power train. Would also like vehicle to be inspected for missing airbags, when driving 65mph or more, you can hear and feel air coming in and out of side front left passenger side of the vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2025 | ENGINE | Engine light came on couple weeks ago. Code is p0420 so I did some research and inspected the exhaust system and found the weld on the support bracket of the exhaust pipes was cracked and wore a hole between the pipe and the bracket. There are others that have the same problem with different year models Chevrolet traverses. Mine is a 2020 Chevrolet traverse LT | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The car started making a weird sound, thought it was transmission because it only happened when i accelerated. Took it to the dealership abd they wanted to charge me $1000 plus labor. I said no,this is a deffect and it should be covefed by the warranty, the said it wasnt. So i took it to a exhaust shop and they welded it but it cracked again and after a while, it actually tore a little hole into the muffler. So i let it be, maybe make the repair when i had the money to spare. But money being the issue, i went to a muffler shop and had it re soldered, it worked for a while, but now its back. It sucks thay gm put out the recall for specific vehicles knowing that it is a very general thing. Plase help me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | It just started showing a error message to SHIFT TO PARK when the car is already in Park. I took it to Register Chevrolet in Brooksville, Fl on May 14, 2025 and they said it needed a whole new shifter that it is defective. This is a major safety issue. I can currently still turn the car off but alarms start going off and was told I may not be able to turn the vehicle off or not lock the doors and could drain the battery. This is absolutely ridiculous there has not been a recall on the safety issue. I have seen that hundreds of others have had the same issue and there has been class action lawsuits. The dealership said it would be around $800 to fix the defective part. Also, I purchased the vehicle in Ohio but moved to Florida in Sep.2021. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ENGINE | The check engine light is illuminated. The Chevy app indicates there is an emission related concern regarding the catalyst system. After inspected, the catalytic converter bracket has a hole or is separating from the exhaust pipes. This causes the vehicle sound very loud during driving. Additionally the vehicle has less power during acceleration. The vehicles performance is poor and the maintenance is accelerated. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Prematurely damaged exhaust system. Identical to Special Coverage Adjustment N212356540 Front Exhaust Pipe but my dealer and GM says that my VIN it’s not coveted | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The car violently shudders when it attempts to shift from 1st to 2nd gear. This happens every time I drive the car and I'm unsure what's wrong with it. I am unable to accelerate quickly when attempting to drive on the highway or when making a turn and am afraid of being hit because it won't accelerate shift gears as it should. I've taken it to the Chevy dealership twice, and the issue was not addressed as requested so, I researched online and learned that this is a common issue in Chevy Traverses, and it doesn't seem to be fixed, even after dealership intervention. I'm wondering if this is why the dealership is hesitant to address the issue. I am concerned for my family's safety. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | STEERING,POWER TRAIN | [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] 4/16/2025 General Motors Customer Assistance Center P.O. Box 33170 Detroit, MI 48232-5170 Subject: Power Steering Issue – 2020 Chevy Traverse (VIN: [XXX] ) To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to express my concern and frustration regarding a serious issue with my 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, VIN [XXX] . On [XXX], while driving, the steering wheel suddenly became very stiff, making it extremely difficult to turn right or left. A warning message appeared on the dashboard that read: "Reduced Steering Assist." I immediately took the vehicle to a certified dealership, where it has now been sitting for over two months. Despite multiple follow-ups, I have not been provided with a clear repair date. When I contacted the manufacturer, I was informed that the required part is currently on backorder, but again, no estimated time of resolution has been given. During this extended wait, I have been forced to rent a car to manage my daily responsibilities, and so far I’ve accumulated close to $1,000 in rental expenses. My case number is: [XXX]. I am requesting the following: 1. A clear update regarding the repair status of my vehicle. 2. Urgent assistance in obtaining the necessary replacement part. 3. Reimbursement or compensation for the rental car expenses caused by the extended delay, which has not been my fault. I trust that General Motors values its customers and the reliability of its vehicles, and I hope for a prompt and fair resolution to this matter. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Mounting bracket on front exhaust pipe separated from the exhaust pipe while driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Broken exhaust pipe brackets | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | AIR BAGS,ENGINE,BACK OVER PREVENTION | Unknown to some, but yesterday Saturday around 12:30 I was inspecting the speaker ports in the rear 3rd row passenger area and I noticed these square tabs that says airbags, also in the very middle of second row the same thing but in the rear I was removing one of the mouldings to see why the speakers were not playing, upon inspection there are no speakers and neither are there any form of side and or rear collision safety devices ( airbags) other than seatbelts. If that truck were in an accident say like a T-Bone, or rear end collision, or side rear impact no one is guaranteed safely making out without adverse affects on their bodies and health. I'm starting to wonder if this traverse was salvaged and or restored. Why are there no safety features in this truck?!! | Crash: No Fire: No | 82,000 |
| Apr 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | Front exhaust pipe broken causing check engine light and vehicle to sound rough. It is an emissions issue. This has been confirmed with a dealership. THE DEALER ACTUALLY WANTED TO CHARGE ME TO REPLACE THE CONVERTER. i HAD MY TRANSMISSION REPAIRED AT AAMCO $6000.00. KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS BY MANUFACTURER. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the message "Shift into Neutral, and Start Vehicle" was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer; where the fuel injectors were cleaned; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that while attempting to use the Push-To-Start feature, the vehicle hesitated to start. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys for a second opinion, where it was diagnosed, and several unknown error codes were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. Mine being a 2020 isn't coved by the 2019 or the 2021 special coverage. Chevrolet needs to fix this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
