WE DID NOT HEAR ANY IMPACT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE OCCASIONAL BUG. OF COURSE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE IMMEDIATE RESPONSE WAS.A ROCK OR FOREIGN OBJECT HAD IMPACTED THE WINDSHIELD. WRONG. I HAVE ALWAYS FEARED WHEN GETTING HIT BY A ROCK THE WINDSHIELD WOULD CRACK. MY WIFE ACTUALLY WITNESSED THE CRACKING PROCESS THINKING AT FIRST IT WAS RAIN AGAIN HITTING THE WINDSHIELD. WITHIN 200 MILES THE CRACK ESCALATED FROM A COUPLE INCH CRACK TO ALMOST A 2 FOOT CRACK STARTING TO MAKE A U-SHAPE AROUND THE EYE-SIGHT CAMERA SYSTEM. I WOULD HATE TO THINK A BUG'S IMPACT WOULD CAUSE SUCH DAMAGE.

Jul 2020 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I I HAVE A 2019 SUBARU OUTBACK LIMITED WITH APPROXIMATELY 16,700 MILES ON IT. PURCHASED IN 11/2018. WHEN I GO AND LOWER THE PASSENGER WINDOW, PUTTING IT BACK UP ON THE ONE TOUCH AUTO FUNCTION IT WILL GO TO THE TOP AND THEN BACK DOWN HALFWAY. THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW SWITCH BECOMES INOPERATIVE. I HAVE TO RAISE IT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE SWITCH SLOWLY TO GET THE WINDOW CLOSED AGAIN. THIS APPEARS TO HAPPEN AFTER THE CAR IS RUNNING FOR 30 MINUTES OR MORE AND HOT OUT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS NOW. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT WEEK AT THE SUBARU DEALER TO LOOK AT IT.

TOOK IT TO DEALER NEXT DAY AND THEY COULD FIND NO PROBLEM OR REASON WHY THIS HAPPENED. NO EXPLANATION. BOTH TIMES VEHICLE WAS PARKED. SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED I HAD STARTED THE CAR JUST 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO BATTERY BEING COMPLETELY DEAD.

WE RECENTLY PURCHASED ABOUT 30 2019-2020 SUBARU VEHICLES INCLUDING THE OUTBACK, FORESTER AND LEGACY. APPROXIMATELY, 1/3 OF THEM EXPERIENCED A RANDOM WINDSHIELD BREAK. ALL OF THEM HAVE BEEN REPLACED. 3 OF THOSE REPLACED, CRACKED AGAIN. I'VE RECEIVED NO ASSISTANCE FROM SUBARU AND MY DRIVERS RECEIVE NO WARRANTY ASSISTANCE FROM THE DEALERSHIPS. I'D LIKE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE TO ADD MY COMPLAINT TO THE GROWING LIST OF OTHER COMPLAINTS. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT A CRACK HAD FORMED ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK INITIALLY STARTED AS A VERTICAL CRACK ALONG THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD AND OVER TIME SPREAD HORIZONTALLY ACROSS THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO GROOVE SUBARU (5300 S BROADWAY, ENGLEWOOD, CO 80113) WHERE SHE WAS REFERRED TO A WINDSHIELD REPAIR SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN PROGRESS DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.

VEHICLE IS PARKED OUTSIDE IN THE DRIVEWAY AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN VERY LOW MILES SINCE THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK. THE FIRST CRACK RUNS HORIZONTAL AND POSITIONED ABOUT HALF WAY UP WINDSHIELD AND A LITTLE LEFT OF CENTER (TOWARDS DRIVER'S SIDE). THE SECOND CRACK IS A CRESCENT SHAPED CRACK APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES BELOW THE HORIZONTAL CRACK.

ON JULY 1, 2020, I HAD MY 18,000 MILES SERVICE AND SAFETY RECALL WRD-20 (FUEL-PUMP) DONE AT SUBARU DEALERSHIP. PICKED UP THE CAR AND DROVE IT HOME. ON JULY 5, I DROVE FROM PLEASANT HILL TO SAN FRANCISCO AND THE CAR STALLED ON HIGHWAY 101 AT OFF RAMP. I CANNOT RESTART THE CAR AND THERE WAS HEAVY SMELL OF GASOLINE COMING INSIDE THE CAR. I CANNOT PUSH IT TO THE SIDE SINCE THE DRIVING WHEEL IS VERY HARD TO MOVE AND THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF THREE LANES HIGHWAY RAMP. I HAD TO WAIT FOR TOW TRUCK TO COME TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY AND IT WAS TOWED BACK TO MY HOME SINCE THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE SHOP IS CLOSED ON SUNDAY. AFTER THE TOW TRUCK DROPPED OFF MY CAR, I WAS TRYING TO START THE CAR AND FOUND OUT GASOLINE IS LEAKING/POURING FROM BOTTOM OF MY CAR AND STILL CANNOT START. I HAVE ATTACHED TWO PICTURES TO SHOW THE GASOLINE LEAKING/POURING CONDITION. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND I AM NOT THE ONLY CASE THAT FUEL PUMP FAILED AGAIN AFTER RECALL WRD-20 FUEL PUMP REPLACEMENT. THIS IS NOT SAFE FOR DRIVERS.

I DROVE THE CAR FOR 15 MILES, PARKED IT ON A CITY STREET, AND WHEN I RETURNED BACK AFTER AN HOUR TO START THE CAR, IT DID NOT START. THE WHOLE INTERIOR STARTED SMELLING LIKE GASOLINE. WHEN I EXITED THE CAR, I NOTICED GASOLINE LEAKING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CAR, AND ALL OVER THE CITY STREET. I THINK THE NEW FUEL PUMP THEY ARE INSTALLING ARE DEFECTIVE.

Jul 2020 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WE STARTED HAVING BATTERY ISSUES IN APRIL 2020. I USE THE OUTBACK FOR WORK MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, AND I BEGAN TO NOTICE A WEAK BATTERY AFTER THE WEEKEND. I LET IT SIT FOR THREE DAYS, AND WHEN I TRIED TO START IT, IT WAS DEAD. I PUT A CHARGER ON THE BATTERY, STARTED RIGHT UP THE NEXT DAY. I TOOK IT TO WORK AND LATER THAT DAY, ATE LUNCH IN THE CAR. AFTER LISTENING TO THE RADIO FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, I STARTED THE CAR TO RUN THE AC. IT HAD TROUBLE STARTING, BUT I MANAGED TO START IT AND LET IT RUN FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. IT WAS STILL A LITTLE SLUGGISH STARTING AFTER WORK, SO I LEFT IT HOME AND TOOK A DIFFERENT CAR THE NEXT DAY. AFTER TAKING A DIFFERENT VEHICLE TO WORK, I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN, AND AGAIN IT WAS DEAD. SUBARU ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WOULD ONLY PAY FOR A TOW FOR A CERTAIN NUMBER OF MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP; IT WOULD HAVE COST ME OVER $100 TO TOW IT BACK TO THE DEALER. I PUT A NEW BATTERY ON IT IN MAY, AND SO FAR HAVE NOT HAD ANYMORE ISSUES WITH IT STARTING.

WHEN THE BATTERY DIES THE LIFTGATE GETS STUCK AND/OR THE RADIO/NAVIGATION SCREEN FREEZES (AT THE STARLINK LOGO). I HAVE BEEN USING THE CAR FOR SHORT TRIPS BUT HAVE BEEN USING IT MORE THAN THE OTHER VEHICLES IN OUR HOUSEHOLD BUT THE BATTERY OF THE OUTBACK STILL DIES. I HAVE TWO OTHER VEHICLES PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND NONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES NOW AND EACH TIME, I HAVE TO JUMP START THE OUTBACK. I WAS AT THE GROCERY STORE AND WHEN I WAS DONE SHOPPING THE CAR HAD A DIFFICULT TIME STARTING. THE LIFTGATE GOT STUCK AND I HAD TO ASSIST IT TO CLOSE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START WHILE THE LIFTGATE WAS OPEN. WHEN I TRIED TO START THE CAR, IT HAD THIS SLOW CRANKING SOUND LIKE IT WAS HAVING A HARD TIME TO START THEN AFTER WHAT SEEMED LIKE A FIVE TO TEN SECONDS THE CAR EVENTUALLY STARTED. THE DEAD BATTERY ISSUE HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES NOW STARTING IN APRIL 2020 WHEN I FIRST REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER. THE MOST RECENT DEAD BATTER WAS TODAY, 7/3/2020.

TOOK TO DEALER TWICE AND THEY SAID "CARGO LIGHT WAS LEFT ON AND DRAINED THE BATTERY", ANOTHER TIME "REAR CARGO DOOR PROBABLY WAS AJAR", THEY ALSO SAID "PERHAPS IT IS NOT BEING DRIVEN ENOUGH" AND "WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF THE SYSTEM IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WIFI SIGNAL SO THAT MIGHT DRAIN THE BATTERY TOO". I STOPPED TAKING IT TO DEALER AND RECHARGED IT ON MY OWN. DEALER SAID THEY'D REPLACE THE BATTERY BUT COULD ONLY DO IT WITH THE SAME SIZE AS THE ORIGINAL.

I REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD. 10 DAYS LATER ANOTHER LARGE CRACK DEVELOPED ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. THIS WAS REPLACED ON 7/2/2020.
