| Mar 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Water leaked into the cab from faulty rear window frame and damaged a key electical component. This component is clled RF module and controls the Ignition, locks, remote operations from the fobik. Imobilizing the vehicle, recall covers the Backlite rear window leak but not the damage caused, leaving vehicles stranded and imobilized. The repair by dealer is almost $2000.00. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Incident Description: I am reporting three recurring safety hazards with my 2019 Ram 1500. 1. Intermittent ABS/ESC Error: The vehicle recently displayed an ABS error message on the dashboard. The error cleared itself after the vehicle was power-cycled (shut off and restarted). This intermittent failure of the Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Control is a severe safety risk, as the system could fail during an emergency braking event. My VIN is currently excluded from Recall 24V-653, despite my vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms described. 2. Unintended Forward Lunging: Before reaching operating temperature (cold start), the truck abruptly lunges forward while idling or under light braking. This occurs without driver input and has been reported by numerous other Ram owners as a cause for rear-end collisions. 3. "Shift into P than Desire Gear" Error: While coming to a stop, the dashboard displays "Shift into P than Desire Gear," and the transmission slips into Neutral. This causes a sudden loss of motive power in traffic. I am aware of reports where this has caused vehicles to "lock up" or stall at higher speeds. Safety Risk: The combination of an unpredictable transmission (lunging/slipping to neutral) and an intermittent ABS failure makes this vehicle unsafe to operate. The manufacturer's current recall list for the 2019 model year is clearly incomplete, as my vehicle is suffering from these documented defects but remains ineligible for a recall repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, the instrument cluster was black. The contact stated that the failure was initially intermittent but had become a permanent failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 60,000 |
| Mar 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Purchased vehicle used in 2024 and purchased a 3 year extended bumper to bumper warranty. The center screen was restarting every 3 minutes and was draining my battery down to being completely dead when it was not running. On 12/15/2025 I brought the truck to a Ram dealer with the problem and it was diagnosed by the dealer (Sansone Auto Mall) as needing to replace the entire radio/HVAC center stack, and it was the cause of the parasitic drain on the battery. The work was approved by my warranty and the parts were ordered. It has been 11 weeks and the parts have not arrived and Stellantis has been unable to provide a timeframe of when the parts will arrive at the dealer to do the repairs. The truck has no defroster or heat rendering it unsafe to be driven on roads. I have had an open case with Stellantis for several weeks and call them frequently to attempt to locate the parts for my vehicle in which they are unable to provide me a delivery date and a repair timeframe. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed and hauling a 500 lb. trailer, the vehicle hesitated and failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal. In addition, a bearing made an abnormal grinding sound. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, opened the hood, and noticed dust on top of the eTorque Motor Generator Unit (MGU). The contact was able to restart the engine. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the Motor Generator Unit (MGU) had failed. The dealer informed the contact that continuous driving of the vehicle had caused the tensioner to overextend due to the loss of power by the MGU and bearing. The contact was informed that parts to repair the vehicle were on backorder. The vehicle remained with the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and filed a claim. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 82,000 |
| Feb 2026 | STRUCTURE | 1 The vehicle’s dashboard upper trim panel (leather covering and stitching) has failed. The leather is lifting and separating from the dashboard surface, and the stitching is coming undone. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 2. The lifting and peeling leather creates a safety concern. The leather separation is present at all times and continues to lift from the dashboard. The condition becomes significantly worse during hot and humid weather, as the material expands further. This can obstruct the driver’s forward or peripheral vision, including blind spots, reducing the ability to clearly see passengers, other vehicles, or road hazards. Additionally, if the material continues to detach, loose sections could interfere with steering wheel components or dashboard controls, creating a distraction or potentially affecting safe vehicle operation. 3. Yes, the issue has been inspected and confirmed by a dealer. The dealer acknowledged the dashboard leather separation and stitching failure. Similar issues have also been reported in other vehicles of the same make and model. 4. The issue has been inspected and confirmed by an authorized dealer. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. The manufacturer has not directly inspected the vehicle at this time. 5. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages prior to this issue. The first symptom was visible lifting of the leather and loosening of the stitching on the dashboard. The condition has progressively worsened over time and becomes more pronounced during hot and humid weather, although the separation is present regardless of weather conditions. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | STRUCTURE,VISIBILITY/WIPER | Hello! I have had my 2019 RAM 1500 for 5 years now. I have called RamCare many times trying to get my problems resolved and they just keep saying my truck is not under the recalls. Both problems I have are exactly what the recalls are AND my manufacturing date on my truck shows that they SHOULD be covered, but for some reason the recall isnt attached to my truck VIN. 1: Cracked back window sliding frame. It is cracked in the EXACT spots thst show on the recall and my back window let's water leak in. 2: Tailgate opens on its own from being misaligned. Both have recall bulletins out that my truck 100% falls under, but for some reason, the recalls aren't attached to my VIN. I have called the dealer a few different times trying to get this resolved and they have still be unable to get them done. The dealership service managers have even told.me that my truck should DEFINITELY be under the two recalls and they dont understand why they aren't. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars the last couple years getting all kinds of things fixed on my truck AND I actually just dropped my truck off this evening to get new manifolds installed tomorrow! This is the SECOND time that I have had to get this done because the Mopar manifolds are junk and keep cracking! I just don't understand why RamCare can't just attached my VIN to the recalls so I can get them fixed like they should. The dealrrship even said they should! I have had Chrysler/Mopar vehicles for almost 20 years now!!! I have always been a very loyal customer. I just don't understand. I don't think it is fair at all. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Leather comes apart from dash of vehicle obstruction front defrost causing issues for defrosting front windshield. This has been mention to mopar/dodge and since issue is considered not something covered by warranty it has continuously detached from dash. I have called several times regarding the leather detaching from the dash board. Mopar has refused to fix the issue and over time it has only gotten worse. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ENGINE | The exhaust manifolds crack both of them which is a flaw that has not been recalled The leak started within a few months of owning the truck new it was under bumper to bumper warranty but the leak was not loud so I did not worry about it and it always passed emissions after the manufactures warranty was up i bought an extended warranty and it ran up still passing emissions, the truck got to about 110,000 miles I have never had to fix anything but battery, tires, and oil still passing emissions. The leak started getting louder especially with a cold motor and startup fuel milage has decreased and most importantly exhaust would come into the cabin during ideal so, if I'm in heavy traffic or stopped at a light it gets hard to breath I had to replace the exhaust manifolds because I take my grandson sometimes and I don't want him getting carbon monoxide poisoning. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEATS | The truck has two issues that may be related. The third brake light leaks water. they tried to fix it, it happened again. The leaks have ruined my upholstery of the back seats. They have an extended warranty for this but it should be a recall. I believe the leak also is effecting my push button (electrical issues), the car won't start. It just clicks and you have to remove the battery or do weird things to make it start again. I think the leak may be connected because there is a computer on the bottom of the rear window floor that keeps getting wet. The push button to turn the car on is a major pain and it happens at random times or after lots of rain. It can leave you stranded for an half hour or days. It also affects the power roof. I can't open/close the power roof without doing crazy things. The push button start is reported by thousands online. Dodge charges 50k and cannot provide basic start button that don't leave you stranded. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | I am writing to report a critical safety defect in my vehicle, a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn , involving a catastrophic failure of the heater core (heater coil). This failure creates an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety as defined under 49 U.S.C. § 301. Safety Risk 1: Acute Toxicity and Driver Impairment The failed component is releasing vaporized ethylene glycol directly into the passenger cabin through the HVAC vents. Per CDC and ATSDR documentation, these fumes are known to cause respiratory distress and neurological impairment, including dizziness and confusion. While operating the vehicle, these fumes caused [describe your symptoms, e.g., dizziness or coughing], creating an immediate risk of a crash. Safety Risk 2: Severe Visual Obstruction The vapor creates a persistent, oily film on the interior of the windshield that cannot be cleared by the defrost system. This "flash-fogging" has severely restricted my field of vision during operation, which mirrors safety risks identified in NHTSA Recall 24V-011. Safety Risk 3: Electrical and Fire Hazard Liquid coolant is currently leaking into the dashboard area, which houses critical wiring harnesses and electronic control modules. This exposure to conductive fluid poses a high risk of electrical short-circuits and potential vehicle fire, as documented in previous NHTSA investigations (e.g., Recall 26V012). Supporting Information: * VIN: [XXX] * Current Mileage: 93000 * Incident Date: January 17 2026 I request that the NHTSA open a Preliminary Evaluation into this model’s heater core assembly to determine if a safety-related recall is warranted. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | STEERING | Reference NHTSA Safety Recall Safety Recall VB8 / NHTSA 19V-812 Electric Power Steering Gear. My 2019 Ram 1500 has this exact issue. The recall is VIN specific and my vehicle is not a listed VIN. Chrysler is not willing to honor the safety recall for this specific truck. The vehicle is unsafe to drive and this is a noted problem with this vehicle. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | AIR BAGS | Air bag warning light Diagnosed safety restraint system air bag module Not included in 2019 recall for same issue per dealership | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My 2019 ram 1500 started showing an intermittent warning light on the dash that said check check trailer brake, although I was not towing anything. I continued on my 20 minute commute and parked the vehicle to which point I noticed smoke towards the back of the vehicle. I inspected to see a small fire that apparently had started at the trailer tow module that had shorted and ignited the insulation and surrounding plastics. I was able to extinguish the fire with minimal damage to the truck, mainly the plastic paneling and the wiring and associated components were damaged. I'm reporting this because a vehicle fire is a significant safety concern and I'm probably not the first to have had this happen. I have made no aftermarket adjustments to my towing system and I've only owned the vehicle approximately over a year. The vehicle has about 83,000 miles on it currently. | Crash: No Fire: Yes | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2019 RAM 1500. The contact stated that when his spouse started the vehicle during cold weather conditions, the engine was turned on, revved high, and the gear shift from park (P) to drive (D) inadvertently without the brake pedal being depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle jolted off and crashed into the door of a business. The contact's spouse sustained a head injury but did not receive medical attention. A police report was filed, but the info was not readily available at this time. The vehicle was taken to the spouse's residence and parked. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | 100,000 |
| Feb 2026 | ENGINE | For about many months now I have had what sounds like a Exhaust Manifold leak. I have been trying to learn more about it. I have a 19' Ram 1500 Laramie and I have found that this is an incredibly common issue amongst Ram owners with a 5.7L V8 Engine. You tube has thousands of videos about how to repair, there are hundreds of message boards online, and even my mechanic said to me "Oh yeah I've fixed hundreds of this issue on Rams". When I remote start my truck I have to roll the windows down when I get in to let the exhaust smell out of my truck. I would assume that the air intake for the cabin climate control is pulling in the fumes from the engine bay. It concerns me to leave my truck run too long while not moving for fear of passing out. When I took it to an exhaust shop he said he could temporarily remedy this with some liquid gasket maker but he was right, it only lasted about 2 weeks. THIS NEEDS TO BE A SAFETY RECALL. I checked with my dealer service dept and he quoted me "at least $1,600" I can buy an entirely new aftermarket system for less than that. I am about 20k miles out of my warranty. This needs addressed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | ENGINE | The truck has a mild hybird 48 volt system that will cause the engine to stall in traffic. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Feb 2026 | AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The dash cover has separated from the main dash component. RAM cannot confirm this will not impede the proper deployment of safety airbags in case of a head on collision. This is more than a visual issue, it's a safety issue. Looking online at RAM forums, this has been a common issue with the dash for many RAM owners. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jan 2026 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | SEE FULL COMPLAINT NOTES IN ATTACHED PDF; SUMMARY HERE (you do not provide sufficient space to provide all info you request) I own a 2019 Ram 1500 4WD Limited (not eTorque). On multiple occasions, the vehicle has unexpectedly shifted out of Drive into Neutral while driving. When this occurs, a warning chime dings and a message on display directs me to “Shift to Park”. The vehicle immediately loses forward power (because it has shifted itself to Neutral), until I come to a complete stop, shift to Park, and then shift back to Drive to move forward. Usually the engine stays on, but on at least one occasion the engine turned off and I had to restart. This has happened at least five times total, including three times within the past month. The events have occurred while decelerating to a stop, braking but not stopping, and accelerating from a slow down. Each time, I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of propulsion, requiring me to stop the vehicle in traffic, shift fully into Park, and then reselect Drive before the vehicle would move again. These incidents have occurred in active traffic situations and have placed me and others at risk of a collision due to the sudden loss of power (SEE DETAILS IN PDF). I previously brought the vehicle to a dealer for this issue after it had just occurred (~1 year ago, before the recent increase in frequency); however, the dealer stated that the vehicle did not throw a code, or no code was stored. They could not replicate the problem and no repair was made. There are at least 55 NHTSA complaints filed that appear the same as my issue; none appear to have been resolved by dealers or RAM. This appears to be a systemic safety defect involving the powertrain and electronic shifting system. The unexpected loss of propulsion in traffic presents a serious risk of injury or death. I am submitting this complaint due to the ongoing and unresolved safety concern. I am scared to drive my family in my vehicle until it is known to be fixed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | STRUCTURE | The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. While driving at an undisclosed speed, the sun visor frequently fell, obstructing the driver’s view of the roadway, creating a safety hazard. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for inspection, but the vehicle remained unrepaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 71,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 71,000 |
| Jan 2026 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | 1The roller valve on the gas tank 2Roller valve is stuck in the closed position, causing a hazard when trying to refill gas tank. 3Dealer wrote up a repair sheet, cost of $1600.00+ . I was told they had other trucks in with the same problem and only way to fix is replacing the whole gas tank. 4No it has not been inspected, all my info is from employees that write up the work order.. 5Have been having this problem since August 2025. 6 I feel this is a safety item that should be covered by the manufacturer just like an air bag or any other vehicle safety device. It is a very poor design in its self that makes it a hazard. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ENGINE | The 3.6L Pentastar V6 oil filter housing assembly (found on 2011-2023+ Jeep, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler) is a common failure point where the plastic housing cracks, causing oil leaks, coolant contamination, and overheating. Replacing it with an upgraded aluminum unit is highly recommended for durability. The assembly is located under the intake manifold and requires removing the upper intake plenum and several components for access. Key Details for Replacement Common Failure: The OEM plastic housing becomes brittle from heat cycles, leading to oil/coolant leaks in the engine's valley. Upgrade Option: Upgrading to an all-aluminum housing prevents future cracks. Required Parts: New assembly (e.g., Dorman 926-959, 926-876 or Mopar 68596317AB/68596318AB), new O-rings (should be included), and new intake manifold gaskets. Process: Requires removing the upper intake manifold, removing the old housing (held by 5 E8 Torx screws), and cleaning the engine valley before installing the new unit. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jan 2026 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,AIR BAGS | The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light remained illuminated, and the message "Service Air Bag" was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V298000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 62,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 62,000 |
| Jan 2026 | POWER TRAIN | have a 2019 Ram four-door. I had it for about 6 months when I got this alert for the first time. I was coming to a stop light, and the truck dings at me, gives me the error code "Shift to P then Desired Gear" and shifts itself into neutral. Once I come to a stop, I can then put it back into Drive and continue driving. This only happened once then so I let it slide at a quirk. Fast forward to now. The error code comes up at least 4 times per week, sometimes multiple times in a day. Always happens when I'm coming to a stop. I do notice that the truck seems to shift very hard when accelerating from a full stop or slowing to stop. This has almost got me killed twice now. I have taken to dodge multiple times with no resolution. Please help | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
