May 2026 STRUCTURE The rear hatch closes without warning, while i am leaning inside under the hatch to remove groceries. This was initially fixed by the dealer in 2024 by replacing the rear gates power struts. The problem reoccurred in 2025 and required re-calibration of the rear hatch. this month for the 3rd time the hatch had randomly started to close while I am leaning into the back area removing items. This is a dangerous problem and occurs randomly and requires one to forcefully stop the hatch from closing on the upper part of your body. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown

May 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving underneath an overpass immediately, followed by an intersection, as I accelerate through the stop lit intersection in the early hours of the morning, my Rogue’s forward collision, alert flashes yellow, and white, and I lose acceleration. It feels as if the car shifted to neutral and there is a grinding, which I believe is the automatic emergency, breaking system, attempting to slow the car. This is happened to me twice in the last month. The car was taken to Nissan Service where they performed a diagnostic and did not seem to be able to find any kind of error.

May 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE I bought the car new, and the entire time I've owned this NIssan Rogue, the automatic emergency braking has a tendency to engage at 5-15 MPH when the car drives over grates or certain water drains (see attached pictures). Very startling and easy to get rear ended by other cars. It's annoying and unsafe. I told the dealership, and they claim they're aware, and their advice is to "sell the car."

Apr 2026 SEATS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The seat has been repaired at a Nissan two or three times and still the motor on the seat just stops working so it will not go forward or backward. Regarding the auto braking system, the camera or car will seem something in front of me and will auto brake, a hard brake, but there won’t be anything in front of me.

Mar 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE While driving on the highway, when I attempted to break the car did not stop. The warning lights came on and the vehicle hesitated but still would not stop. I then had to swerve the best I could to the right, but my car still hit the corner of the car in front. This is the third incident with the ABS, but the only one resulting in an accident. The dashboard reads system malfunction. The vehicle is currently in possession of the insurance company.

Mar 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Driver side door will not open when interior level is pulled, button is depressed, or the black toggle button behind the handle will not allow the door to open at all. This is very scary!!! Car is parked position, vehicle is turned off. Door wont open even if you try to push it. Turned the car on after 5 minutes, took three tries to get the door open! Called Nissan 3/13/26 approx 9:30 am [XXX] ) to see if there was a recall or what to do as this is a safety issue. Told to take the car to the dealer. This is the second time this has happened in a month. The first time I thought it was an isolated event in FEbruary. Parasitic drain - Battery dies if the car isn’t operated for 5 days. 2- Door Lock Actuator - Door Lock Actuator on the driver side door has failed and doesn’t work through the remote. Feb 2026 STEERING,SERVICE BRAKES While driving the automatic brake stopped the car while turning in a curve. However in another incident I was cut off and brakes did not automatically stop. The brakes works when they want too. Not reliable or safe. Separately, the steering wheel randomly squeaks while turning. It doesn't do it often, every other month or so I will hear the speaking sound.

Jan 2026 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle started lurching forward and hesitating as if the vehicle would shut off. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to exceed 60 MPH. The vehicle was pulled off the highway, and the gear shifter was shifted to reverse(R), but the vehicle failed to respond as intended. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 111,000.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE Vehicle randomly (twice in past 5 weeks) stops while driving. Fortunately it was on side roads with no vehicles close behind me. There is supposed to be a software update that is free of charge per (TSB NTB19-033G). But my local nissan dealerships won't do that without a full service diagnostic and road test. Problem is it is so random that issue will not happen while they have the vehicle and they will give the vehicle back to me without a fix or software update and hand me a big bill for fixing nothing. Guess I have to turn that feature off each time I start it until I can get rid of said vehicle. Thanks for nothing Nissan. It's always about money and not our safety.

Jan 2026 FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE IN THE PAST MONTH THE CAR AUTOMATIC BRAKING HAS STOPPED THE CAR WHILE IN TRAFFIC 3 TIMES. FORTUNATELY IT HAPPENED ON SIDE ROADS TRAVELING AT 35 TO 40 MPH. I CHECKED THE EMBLEM AND WINDSHIELD CAMERA FOR DEBRIS THAT MIGHT BE COVERING THOSE AREAS AND THEY WERE GENERALLY CLEAN AND DID NOT LOOK LIKE IT WOULD CAUSE THE SENSOR TO STOP THE CAR. I AM CALLING NISSAN DEALERSHIP CLOSE TO HOUSE TO SEE IF THEY WILL UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AS PER (TSB NTB19-033G). IF THEY PERFORM THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE AND PROBLEM PERSISTS I WILL FILE ANOTHER REPORT HERE AS AN UPDATE TO MY SITUATION.

Dec 2025 STRUCTURE The factory-installed roof rails on my 2019 Nissan Rogue are severely corroding and structurally deteriorating. The metal is visibly oxidizing, flaking, and breaking apart. Portions of the roof rail appear to be separating and losing structural integrity. This corrosion is occurring under normal use and typical Midwest weather exposure, with no misuse, accidents, or modifications. The vehicle has not been exposed to extreme environments or chemicals that would reasonably cause this level of degradation. Safety Concern: The roof rails are a structural exterior component designed to secure roof racks and cargo. Due to the corrosion and material failure, there is a significant safety risk that: Roof-mounted cargo or crossbars could detach while driving Metal fragments could break off and become road debris The failure could occur at highway speeds, posing a danger to other vehicles and pedestrians This issue represents a potential design, material, or manufacturing defect rather than normal wear. Corrosion of this severity should not occur on a relatively modern vehicle. I am concerned this may affect other Nissan Rogue vehicles of similar model years and warrants investigation. Photos documenting the corrosion and deterioration are attached. Requested Action: I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential safety defects related to roof rail corrosion and structural failure on the 2019 Nissan Rogue. Dec 2025 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Summary of the Problem: The passenger side front (left passenger) door lock actuator on my 2019 Nissan Rogue has failed for the second time. This is a repeat failure of the same component, which was previously replaced approximately four years ago. The lock intermittently fails to lock or unlock using the key fob, interior door switch, and manual controls. This defect presents a significant safety concern. When the actuator fails: •The door may remain unlocked while driving •The door may fail to unlock, trapping occupants inside the vehicle •Occupants may be unable to exit the vehicle in an emergency •There is a risk that the door could open unexpectedly while the vehicle is in motion Because this is a passenger door, it directly affects occupant safety, particularly for children, elderly passengers, or anyone who may need to exit the vehicle quickly. Failure Details •Vehicle: 2019 Nissan Rogue •Mileage at current failure: approximately 74,000 miles •Door affected: Left rear passenger door •Failure mode: Lock actuator intermittently fails to lock/unlock •Methods affected: Key fob, interior lock button, and manual door lock •Prior repair: Door lock actuator replaced once before; same issue has reoccurred This indicates a pattern of premature failure rather than normal wear and tear. Frequency and Pattern: This appears to be a known and widespread issue affecting Nissan Rogue vehicles across multiple model years. There are numerous consumer complaints describing identical failures of door lock actuators on Nissan Rogue vehicles. A class action lawsuit (Khalifa v. Nissan North America, Inc.) was filed alleging a latent defect in Nissan door lock actuators across multiple Nissan models, including the Rogue. Although the lawsuit was administratively stayed pending arbitration, the underlying safety defect remains unresolved for vehicle owners. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate the repeated failure of door lock actuators in Nissan Rogue

Dec 2025 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that there was a slight hesitation while depressing the accelerator pedal, with the ABS warning light intermittently flashing on the instrument panel. The contact stated that while accelerating up an incline, the hesitation was more noticeable while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that during the failure, the contact felt heat and an electrical surge in her right foot and felt heat on the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and informed the dealer was informed about the failures with the vehicle. The dealer test drove the vehicle, and the contact was informed that even though the ABS warning light did not illuminate, the mechanic experienced hesitation and stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair and the transmission replacement. Despite the new transmission, the contact stated that the failure persisted, and there were no warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was provided with a case number. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 47,358.

Nov 2025 POWER TRAIN My car has about 61,000 miles and gas been properly maintained with routine oil changes and such. At around 60,000 miles the car started jerking up on the freeway when I was driving at 20mph due to traffic. The accelerator would also jump up from 1 to 2 quickly. The issue became worse and now there's problems with the car driving forward when I turn it on and select D. I press the gas and it takes a few seconds for it to start driving. No issues with reverse. A diagnostic found that the cars transmission overheats quickly.

Oct 2025 STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER The door Actuators on both sides of car do not work properly when you press the lock button on the remote the doors don't lock the actuator prevents locks from opening and closing the doors thus, you think your vehicle is locked but it isn't locked. The trunk closes immediately after it goes up in the open position causing a risk for someone to hit his/her head as the trunk closes immediately after opening.
