| Date | Component | Summary | Severity | Mileage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dec 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Every time I accelerate while I am turning, the car stalls for a second or two. And often when I attempt to accelerate in general, such as when I first turn on the engine to begin driving, the car stalls. I took it to Honda twice, and was told "it's a known issue with these models" | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2025 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,LANE DEPARTURE | While driving down the road way the collision mitigation warning failure flashed and then pulled the steering wheel pulled me off the roadway and nearly caused me to crash. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | SEATS | Vehicle bought certified pre owned in April 2024 with Honda 182-Point checklist completed. In November 2025 owner experienced the second row driver side sear shifting forward and back approximately an inch easily while seemingly locked into place. Took vehicle to local Honda dealership for diagnosis. They said the LEFT MIDDLE SEAT FRAME has failed and the estimate for replacement is 2350.93. Could not get a definite straight answer as to the safety of this seat for our children. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Driving on the interstate with cruise control. All of a sudden the car braked (no one in front within eye shot) and cruise control stopped. I had to tap the brake manually then accelerator to get the car back under my control. Ever since then I get ACC, LKAS and other warnings when the car starts up. It seems like the front camera catastrophically failed while driving and almost caused the car to come to a complete stop on the interstate. It was very scary. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | AIR BAGS | On 11/28/2025, I turned into the Walmart parking lot in Kemah TX, came to the stop sign, turned right and the passenger side airbags deployed. The passenger side curtain wall and passenger seat air bag deployed. There was no warning, no impact, no wreck just a loud explosion sound. My daughter was sitting on the passenger side, had a loud ringing in her ear form the noise. I was unable to properly see to drive home. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,ENGINE | The contact owns a 2019 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the warning light was intermittently illuminated, and the vehicle had started idling rough. The contact stated that the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by a dealer or an independent mechanic. The contact stated that upon scanning the vehicle with a vehicle scanner, the contact retrieved DTC: P219A for fuel injector failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was known to the manufacturer, who had issued TSB Number: 21-010; however, the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ENGINE | We bought this van new and twice since owning it-once in 2019 at 5,418 miles and this month (November 2025) at 136,947 miles-we have been driving down the interstate with a van full of people, when without any previous warning, suddenly multiple warning lights come on all at once (the check engine light, the transmission light, the vehicle stability assist light, among others-what I have been told in LIMP mode) and the van becomes difficult to drive. The engine revs and the multiple warnings keep flashing. It has been extremely dangerous to be going at interstate speeds and suddenly thrown into a driving status where our speed is crippled to a slow pace and trying to get to an exit or shoulder without causing an accident. We have had to have the van towed both times in order to get it to a dealer to have it looked at and fixed. Both times we have been told by 2 different Honda dealership service departments that it was the rocker arm oil pressure switch and the most recent time (2025) we were told they had to also replace the rear spool valve to make the error codes go away. The code P2652 was a code that had to be cleared both times with the repairs that they made. In Nov. 2025 the dealer scanned the vehicle and found codes p0301, p0302, p0303, p0306 cylinder 1 2 3 and 6 misfires. They found code p2652 rocker arm pressure switch to be stuck on. They checked the circuit and found the wiring to be ok. They replaced the rocker arm pressure switch and rear of cylinder head problem did not change. Oil levels were where they should have been. They removed the rear rocker bridge and rear spool valve to inspect the rear spool valve and found the rear spool valve to be sticking causing the vehicle to be in constant vps. They installed a new rear spool valve and cleared codes. We do not have the components to be inspected. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ENGINE | While driving on the interstate the engine rod blew causing the motor to blow up and sustain a hole. This was confirmed by a Honda dealership during a video inspection. Several lights on the dashboard showed up shortly before the motor expired. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | Suddenly, all the Lane Keeping Assistance, Auto Beam Headlights, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control came on. When I took it in for diagnosis, they claim that the Camera Assembly Monocular no longer works. From searching forums, it appears this is a known issue. This is a safety issue and should be recalled. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ENGINE | I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a serious engine failure on my 2019 Honda Odyssey, which experienced a rod bearing failure that has rendered the vehicle inoperable. This failure occurred despite the vehicle being properly maintained and driven under normal conditions. As a result of this engine failure, my Odyssey is currently parked and unusable, yet I am still required to make ongoing auto loan payments while I attempt to find a solution to cover the cost of repairs. This issue was first detected at 63,000 miles. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | On random occasions all of the above warning lights come on. They will stay on for weeks at a time despite replacing the battery and following all reset protocol. It seems when weather is cooler, everything functions as it should and cam work fine for days and out of the blue will throw all the alerts again making lane assist, cruise control, and all departure assists not function. Because the system works sometimes and not others, the honda dealership doesnt believe it is an issue with the camera or sensor specifically because it would never work properly. It isnt an obstruction issues as I make it a point to regularly clean the sensor area on the grill and on the window where the camera is. A strange thing I notice is it seems 5o work better on days that are foggy or raining where youd think there would be obstruction. Its just been a whole distraction while driving. I would be content at this point just to have those options not function ever but keep the orange blinking annoying lights off that decide to work randomly with no reason or rhyme. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | POWER TRAIN | When trying to accelerate from slow/ stopped, the car struggles to get into gear. I have on numerous occasions been merging or getting onto another road from a stop sign and the vehicle will start to go just slightly and then stall before suddenly jumping into gear. It has caused me to stall in front of oncoming vehicles even though im careful to not go unless there is Noone within a long distance from me. I have taken it to the dealership and there are no codes for transmission or any other issues. Im not sure what the issue is but it is very unsettling. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While parked on Saturday, 9 different warnings popped up including Fuel Emission Issue and Brake Issue. Tried to restart the car and failed. Came back later with a jump start kit assuming it was battery related. Car started up fine and drove it on the highway for 30 minutes. The 9 warnings were still present. Continued using the car on Sunday on 30 minute highway drive without issue. Monday morning noticed the warnings were gone. Continued use. Around noon the warnings came back and the car refused to start. Used a jump start kit to get the engine started, but it could only go about 10mph. Attempting to push the accelerator further would stutter the car. Managed to get it to a shop where they diagnosed the fuel pump motor had failed. They told me that the part was listed in a recall. I looked up the NHTSA number - 23V858000. However, my VIN was not included in the recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | The power sliding door on the driver’s side failed and will not open, even manually. The mechanism engages and stops after about an inch. This creates a significant safety risk because passengers cannot exit through the door in an emergency. This appears to be a widespread defect in 2018–2020 Honda Odyssey models. Repair cost is approximately $1,000. Honda needs to address this as a safety issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ENGINE | This vehicle is horrible and should be bought back by Honda. They knowingly put this bad engine in the 2018-2019 year models for the Odyssey. The transmission grinds. The read door opens. The engine shuts off while driving at high rates of speed. You then have to pull to the side of the road and turn the ignition off, open the door, and restart the vehicle. I have complained to Honda for a buy back and they flat out said NO! Please help. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | The monocular camera went out unexpectedly for my van back in March 2025. I have multiple failure warnings that all of the van's safety features were disabled. The van had around 80k miles at the time and Honda dealer quoted me well over $2000 dollars to rectify the problem. Looked through forums and online groups and realized it was a very common issues with late model Hondas. Seems like the internal electronic is cooked by heat over time and caused the camera module to go out prematurely. I ended up buying a module from Honda and had an independent shop to calibrate it for the van which still cost me well over $1000 out of pocket. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The power sliding door on the passenger side failed to operate properly. After receiving a recall repair related to the sliding door, the door stopped functioning correctly, directly after I picked it up—it would not close or latch fully. The door assembly and motor mechanism are still on the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. 4-5 months later the driver side (same door) that was malfunctioning now will not close, I had to bring the car in for the 3rd time and they said the Pinch Sensor is bad and want $812 dollars to fix it. I have had the car from 2019 with no issues at all with the door. They claim it has nothing to do with the recall. I filed a goodwill form and they denied the claim. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The sliding door will not close or latch securely, which poses a safety risk while driving, especially with passengers or children in the vehicle. The malfunction could cause the door to open unexpectedly or prevent the vehicle from being secured properly. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The issue was first noticed immediately after the dealer performed the recall repair. I had to return the next day, and the dealer temporarily restored operation. However, the same issue reoccurred about four months later, and the door is now inoperable again. Yes. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealer both during and after the recall repair. No police or insurance inspection has been conducted. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lamps or dashboard messages appeared. The problem first appeared immediately after the recall service was completed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE | Power Tailgate Problem is going off repeatedly while car is on. Power tailgate does not open with remote or button inside car. There seems to be water leaking in tailgate seams. The constant beeping of problem popping up is startling and distracting to driver. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | SUSPENSION | It is been only 6 years with 100% city and highway driving and dealer informed me that bushings are already cracking and need to be replaced soon. Car is in mint very good conditions with no other issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The front multifunction windshield camera module failed due to a hot day. The cruise control, lane departure, collision mitigation, and other advanced driver safety assists are completely non functional. These are key safety features for ourselves and others. It has been confirmed by technicians, and many other owners of vehicle this model and generation with the same problem. It hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer. Many warning indications came on during startup and all the systems stated above stopped working. They haven't worked sense. This same thing happened about 2 years ago on this same van. This is a very common issue with this vehicle model and year. The manufacturer needs to issue recall for it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | ENGINE | Traveling from appointment to home, vehicle started to rattle from engine, could not accelerate and shut off in the middle of the roadway. We couldn’t start the engine and “emission system failure “ message appeared for the first time. Prior to the event, we did not have any issues with starting, operating the vehicle and no warning lights on the dash. Police arrived to block traffic and ordered the tow to the dealership. Honda did a diagnostic for 240.00. Results were they found metal shavings in the oil and the engine needed to be replaced. We were surprised due to the fact that we just had a full synthetic oil change within the past month and no reports of metal in the oil were reported. Honda stated that recall 23V-751 addressed this issue but our VIN was not listed for coverage. Only choice is to replace the engine assembly, quoted $9,000.00. We are just thankful this issue didn’t result in any accidents or injuries when it reduced power and unexpectedly stalled on a city road. We are 1st owners and have had all services done professionally, per the maintenance schedule. It’s a 2019 Honda Odyssey Touring with 70000 miles. No prior notice or poor performance. Honda confirmed it was an internal bearing failure. Vehicle is available for inspection, currently waiting on engine replacement to arrive. Honda did complete the recall for fuel pump replacement that was needed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 1. The multipurpose camera, which is needed for the ADAS to function has malfunctioned. Yes, it is available for inspection request. 2. The malfunctioning multipurpose camera caused the advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to perform unreliably. Features such as lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and collision warning either stopped working or provided false alerts. This created unpredictable driving conditions, as I could not rely on the systems to detect other vehicles, maintain lane position, or warn of potential collisions. The issue increased the risk of an accident for me and for other drivers or pedestrians, especially in traffic or on highways. Upon doing some research, it seems clear that this is a wide-spread problem, which Honda has not issued a recall about. 3. Yes, this has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer. 4. No, it has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance rep. 5. No, there were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | We began getting several warnings related to Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Detection, Lane Departure not working. This was due to the multipurpose camera internal failure. The camera had to be replaced by a authorized Honda Dealer at a cost of $2,200. While the car was drivable no safety features related to the multipurpose camera were available. There were no indications of issues prior to the camera going bad. Due to the cost of replacement I would think that a large portion of drivers do not get the camera replaced and continue to drive the vehicle without use of the safety features provided. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | STRUCTURE | The rear power liftgate on our 2019 Honda Odyssey has repeatedly closed automatically while the vehicle is parked on a slope, including our driveway. This has occurred multiple times, and in one instance, the door struck me on the head. The issue seems to be gravity-related and may involve a malfunction in the tailgate spring or motor system. I reported this to the dealership, and they were unable to replicate the issue. However, I have video evidence and found that Honda issued Service Bulletin 22-018, which may be related. The dealership has not confirmed whether this bulletin applies to our vehicle. This is a serious safety concern, especially for families with children or elderly passengers. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this issue is widespread and whether a recall or further guidance is warranted. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | My 2019 Honda Odyssey has a check engine light on due to failing fuel injectors. Honda service center told me, the Cost to repair would put you out the door @ 1919.38. My car has fewer than 60,000 miles, for me personally, it's a manufacturing fault. After seeing the check engine light, I didn't drive my car other than take it to the Honda service center. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
