May 2026 STEERING steering is sticky. when maintaining a straight line position on road, it takes effort to adjust the steering wheel to autocorrect the steering. when turning there's a clicking sound as it there isn't enough grease. this is an expensive repair as a honda dealership quoted 4,300 for a 2019 honda crv with 37k miles. just as a side note 2022-2023 models had a recall because of this steering issue

May 2026 AIR BAGS Driver side door lock was broken. Car was broken into. Airbag (on steering wheel) was stolen. I am not sure if the alarm went off. Caused “Airbag System (SRS) Problem” warning light on the dash. Car was still drivable. This was during the pandemic so there was a parts shortage. Needed to replace lock, airbag, and clock spring. Took 2 weeks.

May 2026 STEERING Car is difficult to keep straight at highway speed. Steering feels stiff and requires effort to turn right or left. Constant minor corrections to steering are required to maintain straight heading. Problem is ongoing since first incident.

May 2026 STEERING Steering has become intermittently "sticky". When it happens, if I try to turn the steering wheel a very short distance it will resist until I put enough force to move it about twice as far as intended. Although the greater steering angle achieved has not been sufficient to take me out of my lane, it could do so. When steering is working normally, I easily turn the steering wheel to any angle without resistence. No warnings have been displayed.

May 2026 STEERING While driving at various speeds, the steering wheel exhibits a noticeable "sticky" sensation and momentary mechanical binding when making minor steering adjustments, specifically when turning between the 10 o'clock and 11 o'clock positions. This occurs with the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) completely turned off. The binding is a serious safety hazard because it requires a sudden increase in physical effort to "break free" the steering wheel, which can easily lead to over-correction or jagged lane departures at highway speeds. An authorized Honda dealership formally inspected the vehicle and confirmed an internal mechanical failure within the electronic power steering gearbox assembly, stating it requires a full replacement. The dealership noted that while this failure matches the physical symptoms of Honda's high-profile steering rack recalls on other model years (such as NHTSA Recall 24V-744), this 2019 model uses a different part number and is not currently covered. However, the dangerous mechanical behavior is identical, suggesting a broader engineering vulnerability with Honda EPS gearboxes that extends to the 5th-generation CR-V.

May 2026 STEERING The steering is sticking when driving. This is especially concerning on highway driving or on curved roads. I have to fight the steering wheel to move, even slightly. The known recalls were for newer models. This recall needs to be extended to cover older models as it is a known issue.

May 2026 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The sun visor on the driver's side of my CRV is broken & will not completely stay up. The visor stays about 2" down from the top, making it not only a nuisance, but a huge safety concern in the event of an accident as it would impact the driver's head. The when brought down, it will not stay in place, either. This is a KNOWN issue with Honda CR-V & the dealer is unwilling to address it without significant cost.

May 2026 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My 2019 Honda CR-V experienced a malfunction involving multiple dashboard warning lights illuminating at the same time, including warning messages related to vehicle systems and safety features. There is concern about the vehicle entering limp mode and being unable to accelerate normally. This creates a safety concern because the vehicle may not respond properly in traffic or during highway driving. The issue has been diagnosed by an independent mechanic, and diagnostic codes indicated a cylinder misfire/fuel system related problem. I have learned that many other Honda CR-V owners are experiencing the same issue involving multiple dashboard warning lights, fuel injector problems, fuel pump concerns, misfires, and repeated unsuccessful repairs. The vehicle has required diagnostic testing and repair recommendations that may cost thousands of dollars, yet many owners report the issue returning even after repairs. In my case, all warning lights illuminated simultaneously and the issue appears related to a larger recurring defect pattern affecting Honda CR-V vehicles. This problem poses a safety risk because the vehicle may lose power, hesitate, fail to accelerate properly, or become unreliable while driving. I am requesting investigation into this recurring issue affecting Honda CR-V vehicles.

May 2026 STEERING This vehicle is a 2019 Honda CR-V with less than 70,000 miles on it. Which is less than 10,000 miles a year. The steering wheel consistently sticks, gets jammed, or even locks while driving. The experience is mostly felt while making turns while driving. After taking into Honda of Kirkland in Kirkland, WA the service team confirmed that the rack and pinion need to be replaced. My safety, my family, and any other individual who is in the car while driving are and have been at risk since the steering wheel sticks and locks and is not operating correctly. Confirmed, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by the Honda of Kirkland service team. The vehicle has been inspected by the service team at Honda of Kirkland. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the issue occurring. The problem started about a year or so ago and has progressively gotten worse over time. The vehicle has maintenance done on a regular basis and has never been in an accident. Honda of Kirkland and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. have denied a goodwill repair for this issue. Any help will certainly be appreciated.

May 2026 STEERING The steering hasn’t completely failed but it is not operating correctly. The steering wheel feels like it’s stuck in a detent or notch when going straight and takes a little bit of force to turn it left or right to make minor corrections. Then the change of direction is sudden not gradual, possibly impacting me and the traffic around me. It feels like I’m fighting against the Lane Departure system but there are no warning lights coming on . When it moves out of the “notch” the steering feels somewhat heavy. This, so far, has been an intermittent issue, but a very disturbing one. I’ve been to the dealership with it but everything seems normal when I go in. This all started at just over 42,000 miles. Everything points to the electronic rack and pinion beginning to fail, as hundreds of 2017- 2019 CR-V owners have indicated. There seems to be a system failure on these cars. A very important system but no recall from Honda???

Apr 2026 STEERING Summary: I am reporting a "sticky steering" mechanical defect in my 2019 Honda CR-V that matches the failure mode described in NHTSA Recall 24V-744. Issue Details: While driving at highway speeds, the steering wheel frequently becomes "stuck" or "notchy" feeling causing frequent adjustments at high speeds. I must apply sudden, extra force to break the wheel loose to keep car from crossing lanes, leading to unpredictable overcorrection and a high risk of a crash. I never use LKAS, so this is not what I am feeling in the steering. It is an annoyance that causes driver fatigue and anxiety. Prior Action: I visited two Honda dealers who told me they can only follow Honda recommendation. I contacted Honda Customer Service to request a repair under the current steering gearbox safety investigation, but my request was denied. Honda Case Number: 16300136. Case Status: Honda closed this case on 4/30/26 without providing a remedy, citing that my VIN is not currently part of the 2023–2025 recall population. However, the mechanical failure I am experiencing is identical to the one identified in newer models.

Apr 2026 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM Honda CRV with less than 50,000 miles and has blown a head gasket. Cost to replace head gasket and fuel injectors is $6500 at a Honda dealership. Car is not drivable. Honda Corporate has refused any assistance. There are class action complaints for this very issue in the state of CA and Canada. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Apr 2026 STEERING Approx 2nd week of March, steering wheel began to have 1” play both left and right. Scheduled an appt although there were no warning/indicators illuminated. The day before appt, while traveling at approx 30 mph, applying brakes and coming to a stop, the vehicle began to make a rumbling sound near the engine. On the same day traveling up hill about 40 mph, applying gas, sounded like scraping noise from the front of the vehicle. I transport my 2 grandsons (8,9) most days and this was a major highway, remote area, no nearby homes and a very narrow shoulder. I was fortunate to make it to a family house and had the vehicle towed to the Island Honda. Honda confirmed that the steering rack is shot and not safe to drive. Stating the part is on back order and in the manufacturing stage. Vehicle only has 46,396 miles.

Apr 2026 ENGINE The vehicle began experiencing engine roughness during cold starts, with the engine running extremely rough for several seconds before stabilizing. This condition worsened over approximately one week. Shortly after, multiple warning lights illuminated simultaneously across the dashboard, including systems unrelated to the engine. The vehicle then entered a reduced power or “limp” mode, making it unsafe to operate. The vehicle could not exceed approximately 10 mph, creating a hazardous condition in normal traffic. The vehicle was taken to a repair facility and diagnosed with a failed head gasket. This diagnosis was confirmed by a dealership, which quoted approximately $6,100 for repair. The failure occurred without warning beyond the initial cold start roughness and progressed rapidly, significantly impacting the safety and usability of the vehicle. This issue presents a serious safety concern due to sudden loss of power and inability to maintain safe driving speeds. Based on widely available owner reports and similar complaints, this appears to be a recurring issue affecting this vehicle model and engine type. There are also known legal actions related to similar failures in other markets, suggesting a potential systemic defect rather than an isolated incident.

Apr 2026 SERVICE BRAKES 3rd time I experienced this, I took ownership of this car after my dad passed away and since that time this has happened 3 times...When required to brake hard the engine rev's and pulls the car forward, it almost like the ABS system is kicking in as things vibrate and the engine accelerates and pulls the car forward, THis last time it happened it actually pulled me into the intersection and almost caused a collision with the on coming car...Major Safety issue....When normal driving and braking things seem to be normal...Very scary and quite honestly nervous to have my wife drive this car...

Apr 2026 ENGINE Turbo charger failed at 107,000 miles, rendering the car unable to maintain highway speed. This made it difficult to stay with the flow of traffic putting the driver at risk for an accident. There were no warning lights prior to the event. The turbo charger was replaced at owners expense by a dealer in Montana so I am not sure the original part is available for inspection.
