THE CONTACT CALLED MOMENTUM VOLKSWAGEN OF CLEAR LAKE AT (844) 894-5461 (LOCATED AT 15100 GULF FWY, HOUSTON, TX 77034) AND WAS INFORMED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS MOISTURE IN THE IGNITION LINE AND THERE WAS A SIGNAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM THE DEALER, A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE OCCURRED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND OIL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. I WAS SURPRISED AND SAID REALLY THE ROCK OR STICK ONLY HIT THE SIDE MIRROR AND PUSHED THE MIRROR INTO THE WINDOW? I SAID I BELIEVE THAT THE DEFROST, LANE CHANGE OR POWER MIRROR WIRING CAUSED THE EXPLOSION. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY AND ESTIMATED TO COST TO $1100. I HAD DEALER ORDER A NEW MIRROR. I SCHEDULED THE SERVICE AND CONFIRMED WITH THE DEALER THAT THE PART WAS READY. AN HOUR WAITING FOR THE CAR TO BE SERVICED THE SERVICE ADVISOR GOT ME FROM THE WAITING ROOM TO TELL ME THAT THE NEW PART THAT WAS ORDERED FROM VOLKSWAGEN AND PAINTED TO ORDER WAS DAMAGED! TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD A REPLACEMENT MIRROR THAT HAD BEEN ORDERED FOR ANOTHER CUSTOMER. SINCE THAT CUSTOMER HAD NOT SCHEDULED A TIME FOR SERVICE IT WAS GOING TO BE SENT OUT TO BE PAINTED FOR ME. I LEFT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH MY BROKEN MIRROR.
