Increased temperatures can break down the engine oil, which may cause the engine bearings to seize and become damaged, leading to engine failure. | Engine failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire. | Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, inspect for diagnostic trouble codes, and test drive the vehicle, free of charge. The dealer may also inspect the oil pan for metal debris, and replace the engine if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 8, 2026. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank screen when the vehicle is in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility." | The loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. | The in-vehicle infotainment software will be updated by an over-the-air (OTA) software update or by a dealer, free of charge.
